IT WAS ALREADY nighttime when Blue woke up in the hospital. The first thing he saw were his friends. His parents were not there; they were attending to the arrangements at the funeral home for his brother’s wake. Blue stared blankly, as if he didn’t see anyone. He remained silent, not even blinking.
“Blue,” Grey said softly.
“Is Red awake?” Blue asked in a weak voice.
Katleya stepped closer, doing her best not to cry in front of him. She didn’t want to add to the sadness and pain Blue was already feeling.
“Blue, Red is already at the funeral home. Right now, he’s... he’s lying in state.”
