CHAPTER 4:A CLASH OF INTERESTS

The news about Logan Casanova getting married was out, but no one knew the bride. This was an instruction given by Logan.

Our CEO is married? Oh my gosh, who is she? The woman's identity was not revealed. I never knew the CEO had a woman before; this is so surprising. Logan's workers were talking about it in their various offices.

The Coddington Brewery Company Ltd, the largest brewery company in the city, has won numerous awards for being a remarkably productive company. They own restaurants, cafes, and suites. These properties are managed by the billionaire CEO, Logan.

Talking about adversaries and competitors, Logan has a lot and would be delighted to put them in their place. He became the CEO at the age of 20 after achieving substantial growth in the company's income. He is 29 and still defying expectations with business. Due to his difficult past, he was cold-blooded and merciless.

At the moment, the company was in havoc, and he is not even interested in discussing anything about his impromptu marriage to the press, even as his phone is buzzing with different calls and messages.

In the boardroom, Logan sat on his white, shiny chair, his finger rested on his nasal arch as he listened to the shareholders giving their opinion on the problems at hand.

The havoc was caused by Evelyn, to make Logan come to her aid for help, but the shareholders were all careful with their words, giving out their best because they know Evelyn is the one with the largest share after the CEO.

After giving a short speech, Logan headed back to his large office with Caroline walking behind him.

Your wedding is the talk of the town; everyone is shocked and curious about your wife. Who is the mysterious wife? Charlotte commented.

"Don't you have something reasonable to do with your time? Did you want to be fired?" Logan answered, and Caroline's face dropped.

"I am sorry, sir. I did not mean it like that. I was just curious about the marriage because I have never seen this girl with you before," Caroline said, opening the office door for him.

They both spotted Evelyn waiting for them in the large, luxurious office; Logan's face froze.

"Logan," Evelyn forced a smile as Caroline winked at her. "Who let you in?" Logan asked in an angry tone.

"Your secretary, of course," Evelyn responded with a subtle shrug.

Giving Caroline a stern look, Logan ordered, "Don't allow anybody to my office without confiding in me first." Caroline nodded without bickering; she left the office.

Logan, seated behind his large mahogany desk, gazed up at Evelyn with a mixture of annoyance and frustration. "Evelyn, please leave my office. I am very busy and I have to clean up the mess you created."

Evelyn, eyes flaring with passion, moved closer to him, her hand reaching out to touch his hair. "Why are you pushing me away, Logan? You don't have to marry someone like her just to turn down the marriage proposal. Come to me, and we will fix this; we can make it work."

Logan's expression changed to a scowl, shoving her hand back. "That's enough, Evelyn. I have made my decision; we are not compatible at all. I can't even dream of getting married to you."

He pressed the intercom button on his desk, his voice firm. "Caroline, please escort Ms. Evelyn out of my office now."

Evelyn's expression distorted in fury as Caroline entered the room. "This is not over, Logan. You have not seen the last of me. The problem will not be solved until you come to me."

As Caroline gently but firmly guided her out of the office, Evelyn's voice grew louder, her words laced with venom. "This is just the beginning; you will regret pushing me away."

The door closed behind her, and Logan let out a deep sigh, rubbing his temples. He knew she was just blurting out an empty threat. As he set to go home, he received a call from his father about a family gathering coming up the following day.

As Caroline escorted Evelyn out of the door, she whispered in a barely audible voice, "You know Logan cannot be threatened like that. Let us only deal with the useless girl he brought to his mansion and make her life miserable. You just have to be close to Logan's father, Mr. Cassius, so that he can be in your favor."
