The enforcer's face went pale, sweat soaking his collar. He could already picture Gabriel kicking him out of the pack. Dragging his feet, he reached the VIP ward just as Gabriel was gently patting Serena's back, lulling her to sleep. "Gabriel, about Lydia…" he started. Gabriel pressed a finger to his lips, signaling silence, then tucked Serena's blanket and nodded toward the hall. As he stepped out, Serena's hand caught his sleeve, her eyes red and teary. "Gabriel, are you going to Lydia? Are you done with me?" Her sudden vulnerability threw him, but he softened his voice. "Don't worry. I just need to ask her something." Ask what? Who Lydia was? What their past meant? Serena's mind churned with questions. Had Gabriel remembered something? If he found Lydia, would he still care for her
