2. COURAGE - Part one

676 Words
Bel-Air 11 years later Raine Quinn was far from being all right, no one in her place would be. She felt like there was a tear in her heart, like a part of her was missing...and it was. When her parents died in that car accident, they took that missing part with them. But why isn’t she waking up from this terrible dream, perhaps she isn’t dreaming... No! Her parents can’t leave her alone in this world of madness. But as she fixedly stared at the two dug grave, she knew deep down within herself that they were truly gone. Seventeen year old Raine lived the life that was every girl dream. Her parents were the founders of Quinn enterprise – the most successful conglomerate business in Ber-Air. Everything about her is perfect, she had the perfect face, the perfect hair, the perfect dresses, the perfect shoes and accessories...she lacked nothing, if she wanted her own personal island then it would be hers. Everything was magical...until now. Her parent’s castle-like mansion was crowded with sympathizers, family friends and relations. It was almost like all the rich white folks in Bel-Air were there to show their sorry ass faces. But their condolences meant nothing to Raine...at this point she didn’t need anyone’s condolence. She felt so betrayed, so shattered. Her parent’s death proved that she had back stabbers as friends, none of them actually cared about her. Those pompous, rich brats she called ‘friends’ let her down the moment she needed them the most. It was like her whole world was crashing down and there is absolutely nothing she could do about it. But there is one thing she did though, she withdrew herself from the crowd and went to her mom’s glasshouse...it was the only place she felt safe. But Axel robbed her of that when he came walking through the door. “Where were you?” Raine asked without looking at his face. “I had some things to take care of” Axel blurted out as he covered the distance between them. Raine turned to him, “Today is my parent’s funeral and you had some things to take care of. How unfortunate don’t you think?” “Let me explain.” “Explain what Axel? Or do you want to explain the reason why you went to Emma’s party yesterday. I was depressed. I even thought of taking my own life, and you were at my best friend’s party having a blast...making s*x videos with her.” She scoffed. Axel took some few steps backwards totally taken aback. “Surprised? I saw the video, matter of fact she sent it to me.” “Raine, you possibly can’t allow this to get between us.” “Us? There is no us anymore.” “I was under the influence...the alcohol and some other crazy s**t. She had me cornered and I couldn’t resist.” “And do you want an accolade because you couldn’t resist! You are so full of s**t Axel.” “You can’t do this. That night was a mistake” Axel spoke. “You slept with my best friend, the day before my parent’s funeral!” she yelled out in anger, “and you call it a mistake. Screw you Axel.” She said lastly before she started to walk away. “Raine, please...” he grabbed her arms. “Don’t touch me.” She shoved his hands away, glaring at him with a condescending glint in her eyes. Axel scoffed slightly, “You are obnoxious, just because your parents died you’re acting like a bitch." “What did you just say?” Raine eyes widened, stunned by his words. “You heard me. Stop acting like a b***h and be the good little girl I know you are.” Slap! His words brought an unanticipated slap to his right cheek. “Asshole.” Raine cursed at him before she stormed away from the glass house leaving her ex boyfriend shocked but also utterly astounded by her action.
