Chapter 24 something weird is going on

Mercury’s P.O.V

  I knew this was dangerous and back when I was single I didn't have a care in the world about doing this, I put myself in danger numerous times and never cared, but now I had Cheyenne. She was one tough cookie, she didn't take any s**t from anyone including me and I loved her more than anything in the world. We drove for a few hours until we came to a stop outside a few houses down from our target and the other car pulled up behind us. My guys and I got out of the SUV and took a look around, surveying the area.

  “Alright, Spike, Shark I want you two to go in through the side. Trevor the back and Cody, I need you to stay out here. I’m sorry but you're not a wolf, so just stay here and if anyone comes running out of the house….” I said and handed him a gun.

  “There’s silver in this, shoot in the main areas, the head between the eyes or the chest in the heart and it will kill them. If there's any trouble honk the horn as loud as you can.” I said and Cody nodded.

  “You got it boss.” Cody replied and I turned to face Kenny.

  “Kenny you're with me.” I said and he nodded. Everyone got into their positions, while Kenny and I walked up to the front door. We heard footsteps approaching the door and then the door opened. As soon as he saw us he tried to shut the door again, but I kicked it and knocked the door open, making the man fly back and hit the ground hard. 

  “So Josh, I haven't heard from you in a while. You got my money, dude.” I asked, stepping into the house followed by Kenny. Josh looked up at me in fear, as two other men came rushing into the room, raising their guns and shooting. They missed me, but hit Kenny in the arm, making us both growl as the men dropped their guns and ran outside. Shots were heard outside and I knew that my guys had got them. 

  “So do you have my money or do I need to break a few bones?” I asked, walking over to him and then I noticed a door behind him. 

  “Get him off the floor and make sure he doesn't run.” I said to Kenny and he did as I asked. I kicked open the door and there was a huge safe, standing against the wall.

  “What's the combination to this motherfucker? Kenny, bring his ass in here now.” I said and Kenny dragged Josh into the room by his leg and stood him up.

  “What the f**k is the combination to this son of a b***h?” I asked, turning to look at him and I was fast losing my patience with this bastard. Josh didn't say anything and just smirked at me.

  “Kenny, hang him on this hook in here.” I said, pointing to where I meant. Kenny looked like he was in his forties, but at heart he felt like he was still young and the way he acted and did things proved that he was. Werewolves age a lot slower than humans, which is handy for us in many ways. Kenny picked Josh up by his shoulders and hung him on the hook, making him scream out in pain as the hook stabbed into his back.

  “Are you going to tell me now or do I need to start cutting toes off before you do?” I asked, reaching into my back pocket and pulling out a pair of cutters. I could see the fear in Josh’s eyes and I could smell it coming off of him in waves. I loved the smell of fear and so did my wolf and lycan I thought and heard Asher growl inside my head in agreement.

  “He’s keeping something from us, cut his feet off and make him open the safe.” Asher said, still growling and I chuckled. I looked around the room for inspiration and saw a large machete leaning against the back of the door. I picked it up and swung it, taking off Josh’s right foot and making him scream as blood gushed out of the stump and onto the floor.

  “OKAY, OKAY! I'LL TELL YOU. PLEASE NO MORE! ITS 3 TO THE RIGHT, 8 TO THE LEFT, 1 TO THE RIGHT AND 5 TO THE LEFT!” Josh screamed out and when I looked at the safe I growled.

  “Do you think I'm a fool? Theres no turning knob on this safe, you dumb son of a bitch.” I said, swinging the machete and cutting off his other foot. Kenny started going through his pockets and when Josh jerked back I saw that he had a chain around his neck with a key hanging from it. I shook my head and started laughing, jerking the chain from his neck and the key to the safe fell on the floor.

  “Next time do a better job of hiding it, dumbass.” I said, laughing and picking the key up from the floor. I walked over to the safe, unlocked the safe and opened the door. What I saw amazed me and I was more angry than before. 

  “You had all of this and you decided not to repay me.” I said, shaking my head.

  “Kenny, go and get the cases out of the SUV.” I asked and Kenny nodded

  Kenny’s P.O.V

  “Cody, I'm coming out, don't shoot me.” I said, mind-linking Cody. I went out to the SUV, grabbed the cases and then went back into the house. Mercury and I loaded up the cases and Goddess only knows how much was here. There were coins, cash, gold bars and jewellery. We emptied everything and decided to go through it all later to see just how much there was. I took everything out to the SUV, leaving Mercury alone with Josh.

  Mercury’s P.O.V 

  I took the knife I had and stabbed Josh in the stomach, slicing him almost in half and watched as his guts and other organs fell out, splattering on the floor. I took his shirt and ripped in two, dipping it in his blood and writing on the wall. DON’T f**k WITH THE TOP DON. I got back into the SUV and we drove off, about five minutes later the house exploded and the fire was everywhere. I don't know why I bothered to write that when they were going to blow the house up.

  “That will show everyone not to f**k with me.” I said, laughing and Kenny gave me a weird look, but didn’t say anything.

  “Don't forget what you told Luna Alpha, Boss. about the guards.” Kenny said and I looked towards the house. I wonder what she would do if I didn't show up on time? I didn't bother to call her, it was already past twelve and we still had a few hours drive, so I decided to speed up and get there sooner. We got home at exactly two in the morning and I saw one of the guards.

  “Tripp, don't let her know that I'm here, I want to see if she will do what I told her to do.” I said, mind-linking the guard.

  “Yes sir.” Tripp linked back and I waited. Ten minutes later and all the guards, warriors and fighters had surrounded the house, guarding every inch of it. I was so proud of her, she did exactly what I wanted her to do and I now knew that if anything happened she would know what to do.

  “Love, can you tell them everything is fine, so I don't get shot.” I said, mind-linking her.

  “I should make you stay out there all night.” Cheyenne replied, mind-linking back. I watched and waited a few minutes before all the guards, warriors and fighters started to head either home or back to their posts. I drove through the gates and got out.

  “We’ll look through everything tomorrow morning.” I said and they all nodded, knowing that they would get some of the money. Kenny helped me bring in the cases and put them in my office, ready for tomorrow. Kenny and I were talking, while we were walking upstairs to my room and when I opened the door I saw that Chyenne was standing by the window with her arms crossed over her chest.

  “Thank you Kenny, you may leave us, I need a word with my mate.” Cheyenne said and Kenny smirked at me, shaking his head as he left the room and closing the door behind him.

  “You're in trouble.” Kenny said, mind-linking me.

  “Shut up.” I replied and all I could hear was Kenny laughing in my head.

  Cheyenne’s P.O.V

  I looked at the briefcase he had in his hand and then at Mercury who was completely covered in blood.

  “So, are you going to shower or are you going to sleep in blood soaked clothes?” I asked and he must not have realised what he looked like because he looked down at his clothes and then back up to me.

  “I must look a right mess, this was so much easier when I was single, no questions asked.” Mercury thought and he didn't know that I could hear his thoughts.

  “Well, just say the words sweetie and you can be single once again. I'll sleep in my old room tonight. Get your ass in the shower, you smell like death.” I said, leaving the room and going back to my old room. Not only was he late, he was going back to his old ways and I have had enough of this bullshit. If he wants to be single then that's fine by me, I thought to myself, fuming over his attitude.

  “Consider yourself single again. I'll be moving out tomorrow, you can have your whores back and your house.” I said, mind-linking him and then cutting the link. I shut my mind off to him, so that he couldn't get through. I've had enough of this.

  Mercury’s P.O.V

  I was in the shower and I didnt think it would get this far. I was a hundred years old and had lived without a mate for so long, I was used to doing what I wanted and who I wanted, but now this woman had my heart and I didnt know which way to turn. I turned the water off and stepped out of the shower when I heard her link.

  “Consider yourself single again. I'll be moving out tomorrow, you can have your whores back and your house.” Cheyenne said and I tried to mind-link her back, but I couldn't get through because she had blocked me. This pissed me off and without thinking I stormed out of my room, down the hall and to her room. I kicked the door not realising that it wasn't even locked and walked into the room, locking it behind me.

  “What the hell, Mercury? What did you do, walk here naked?” Cheyenne asked, throwing me a pair of shorts I left in her room.

  “Get your ass dressed and leave me alone. You got what you wanted.” Cheyenne said and I growled at her, pushing her up against the wall and tossing the shorts down on the floor. I didn't care if I was naked or not.

  “Listen to me and listen good b***h. This will be the last time you threaten me about being single. Okay, im f*****g single, but YOU WILL NOT LEAVE THIS HOUSE. DO I MAKE MYSELF f*****g CLEAR?!” I said, shouting the last part at her. I tore her clothes off of her and threw her on the bed, making her almost fall off.

  “THE ONLY f*****g w***e I HAVE IS YOU!” I shouted, walking closer to her and she tried to get away, she knew i was pissed. I grabbed her legs, but she kicked me and got off the bed. I grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled it, making her back hit my chest.

  “It's time for you to see one of my rooms, bitch.” I said, tossing her to the side and grabbing her hair again, dragging her out of the room by her hair. I dragged her down the hall and opened the door to one of my rooms, swinging her inside and she looked around in fear. I stood her up and locked her hands and feet in chains. The chains were loose enough so that I could still move her legs. I picked her legs up and pulled them apart, thrusting my d**k straight into her and making her scream and cry out in pain.
