The whispering voices and the judging eyes haunted Layla no matter where she went.Not being able to hold it anymore, Layla went into the company's Female restroom in a bid to catch her breath.She wondered why the employees were looking at her strangely, she hadn't done anything out of the ordinary ‘Well…except for having s*x with a stranger and cheating on your husband’ a voice in her head scoffed at her.Layla had just finished urinating and was about to come out of the cubicle when three voices flittered into her ears. She stopped because they were clearly talking about her, considering the fact that she just heard her name from their mouth.“Did you see the news online? I can't believe that she would do something that dirty and disgusting” one of them said.“And everyday she keeps on acting so high and mighty, I can't believe that Miss Layla would cheat on her husband, yet she keeps on pretending everyday acting like she can't do without him” another scoffed, her voice dripping in disdain.“ You are even adding a Miss to her name, she doesn't deserve the respect at all, I pity Mr Albert the most, he gave his all to her yet she did him dirty, I hope he drags her cheating ass to the court” The third one said in a disgustful tone.Layla gripped her phone tightly, she couldn't believe what she was hearing, how did they know that such a thing had happened.She quickly brought out her phone and logged into her f*******: account.Messages and notifications flooded the screen of her phone, if not that the device was of a higher grade,it would have stopped functioning due to traffic.To her shock and dismay, there were pictures of her and a strange man in an ambiguous position.The face of the man wasn't clear but hers was clear and anyone who saw the picture would know quickly that she was the one.There were write ups of her cheating on her husband with different men and news tabloids that said she was treating her husband badly.Online netizens were already cursing her out for being a b***h and a scumbag.People who hated the rich were already saying mean things about her online without even confirming if it was fact.The same set of people that had praised her for her Charity services to the society and said that she and Albert were the best and perfect match.Tears rolled down Layla's cheeks as she sobbed bitterly.A few moments later, when she noticed that the three ladies were no longer in the restroom, she quietly opened the door of the cubicle and walked out, she went or the sink and washed her hands and face, cleaned her tears and reapplied her makeup, she won't let anything bring her down.She would conquer this.Layla thought and stridded out of the restroom.© ©“Former Mrs Layla Green who is now known as Layla Holloway had been found guilty of cheating on her husband, all her properties would be given to her husband just like the law stated for any couple who was found or caught by their partner cheating” the judge said in a final tone.Layla felt like her world had fallen apart.“It was a mistake! I was clearly drugged! He is the one sleeping with my best friend! I want to sue him too, this is a set up between the two of them” Layla yelled in a loud tone.“Miss Holloway please mind the way you speak about my client, you are the one whose Shameless photos are plastered all over the internet, not my client, I can sue you for slander, that's double the crime” Albert's lawyer said in a threatening tone.Layla glared at him, not wanting to go down without a fight.“I want to talk to Albert, you are not Albert” she said .“I'm my Client's mouthpiece in this case so you can talk to me. My client is too heartbroken because of what you did, no need to see him and remind him of the atrocities you have committed” The lawyer said .Layla nodded her head, she didn't need to be told twice but she knew exactly where to find Albert.© ©The large and overbearing office showed that the owner of such a place wasn't to be trifled with and indeed, its owner was Adonis Elrod, the youngest but most successful businessman in the country.His company was worth more than trillions of dollars and he had a high status in the business world, Adonis was known to be ruthless to his opponents and extremely sly.The door of the office opened and a brown haired guy walked in, he was wearing a dark blue suit and holding a stack of papers in his hands.“Boss, should I take down the news flying around?” Gaius asked immediately he settled down on the seat before his Boss.“What News?” Adonis asked in a bored tone with slightly raised brows .“Ohh” Gaius said, lowering his he's, his boss probably wasn't interested in the news that was trending online.But he didn't expect that his boss would be so mean that he would sleep with a married woman.Now a successful and happy marriage had been destroyed because of him.Gaius thought all these while watching his boss sign his signature on the papers.“Don't forget to settle the call girl you brought, you are getting so lousy these days” Adonis said.“Call girl? I never bought any call girl for you” Gaius answered with confusion. “ It seems your memory is getting much more forgetful, you sent a woman to me two days ago,” Adonis said, flipping through the documents seriously.Gaius felt his life span slip away at the false accusation.“Boss , I wasn't the one and you just ruined someone's marriage” Gaius screamed in agitation.Adonis looked at his secretary in shock,“You say?!”
