*SMACK*
I look at my brothers mate in shock. I can't believe she just hit me.
"What was that for?" I ask shocked. I didn't do anything. I've only just come into my brother, the Alpha's office.
"Take a seat please Vanessa." My brother says to me scowling. "Luke came to me this morning and told me you weren't there when should have been with him last night." He continues. "What I want to know is, why did you defy my wishes and stand him up? Do you think I want to waste my time looking for a mate for you? I have my own things to worry about" I look at him, tears filling my eyes and holding my left hand to my cheek.
"I forgot I was meeting him. I also never said that I agreed to you setting me up. I have my own mate out there somewhere. You don't need to sell me off to the first wolf you see" I seem to be feeling brave today. "Shut up before you say something stupid." Kyra say's in my head. My wolf is a lot more braver then I am but when it come to our brother she has a hard time defying him then I do.
"How dare you. It is your duty to produce pups for your pack. If something happens to me and we have no children, which seems to be the way its going," he says looking at his wife with a sneer. No love in his eyes. She just looks down ashamed, "then it is up to you to produce an heir. How can you be so selfish. Your father would be so ashamed of you, as am I" I look down at my lap. I'm so f*****g angry. How dare he.
I force myself to speak. "I'm sorry Alpha. I shall try harder."
"Yes you will. Now leave my office and go find Luke. You owe him an apology." I bow my head with respect, feeling none on the inside. This man has learnt a lot form our father. He believed a woman has no right to do anything other then breed. Its disgusting and ancient. How are we supposed to keep ourselves or even our family alive if we get attacked by rogues. That's why I have been training myself at night when no one is around. I wear a lot of baggy clothes to hide my muscular figure. No one knows what I don in the darkness because everyone is afraid of my brother. Even though our army is halved by no women being aloud to fight or train, we are a very successful and powerful pack. We haven't had a rogue attack for the past 6 years when the last Alpha lost his life. My dad died doing the only thing he has ever been good at. The love of his mate, my mother. She was the only good thing in our family. She was tamed to obey my father so she was used to the way things were run but she always made sure that I get out and find my mate. She's say to be everyday, "I do hope your mate isn't from this pack" I never questioned her why she's say that until I went to high school. I didn't have a boyfriend because I didn't want to betray my mate if and when he came into my life. All the boys and men have been brought up with the same old style of home living. Men train, women cook. It's so stupid. We never did gym with the boys. Our gym glass was more like yoga, or stretching.
I walk outside from the pack house to go and find Luke. My brother would know otherwise. I expected him in the kitchen trying to get food from the cook as usual.
"Have you seen Luke?" I ask his friend Tim, whose coming out of the woods in just shorts. He looks up at me and just smirks.
"Yeah he's just gotten changed. He's over there." He point behind him then walks away still smiling.
"M'kay." I say walking in the way he pointed. As I get closer I hear some shuffling and the snapping of twigs on the floor. I frown wondering what happening. I turn around the tree and look down. I see Luke on the floor with Kimberly. I just chuckle and shake my head. "You're really all torn up about me standing you up, huh?"
"s**t. Get out of here!!" He yells. I just roll my eyes and walk back into the house. Looks like its a good thing I didn't show. I walk back into the pack house and see my brother walking down with his mate Tracy following him just behind.
"I hope you apologized." He says, sneering at me.
"Oh I didn't need to. He was being consoled by Kimberly. I think he's over it." I tell him with a smile. He looks over my shoulder and huffs. I smile as I walk up the stairs.
"Find him?" Tim says from his bedroom door. Tim is a warrior and a massive douche. He loves it when I get yelled at for being unladylike or for anything in general. He's very irritating.
"Yes thank you." I smile sweetly at him. I don't have time for you Tim. He rolled his eyes then slammed his door shut. I just head straight into my room which is 4 doors down from his. I live on the first floor with the warriors. I was kicked out of my room on the 3rd floor when our father died because the Alpha wanted the room for his Beta and Gamma. I didn't even get to have a say. My thing's were moved whilst I was doing my shift in the kitchen.
"I wonder who he's going to ship us with next" Kyra says bitterly. I don't answer. I just want to get into bed and sleep. It's only early afternoon and the day has already been too long. I climb under the covers and close my eyes. I feel myself drifting off
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
"Give me strength." I say under my breath. "YES?" I shout. Tracy opens the door but doesn't come in.
"The Alpha wants you in his office. Now!" God I hate her.
"Yes Luna." I get out of the bed trying not to huff on my way towards her. She glares at me as I step past her. Why does she hate me so much. "How is your day Luna."
"Don't talk to me Vanessa. We're not friends" Jeez. I just walk as fast as I can to get to
