They mostly ate in silence, enjoying the food and music, but Emile noticed Nyra glancing at her several times, slowing down as if considering something before she finally spoke. “It’s funny,” Nyra said as she picked up her glass of ginger ale again. “I didn’t even know you a few days ago, but…I’m really glad you’re here, Emile.
