Chapter 20: Aristocracy

Before the middle-aged man could reply, Ravel suddenly let go of him and turned to leave, angrily. After a few steps, however, he came face to face with a familiar face, and Ravel let out a startled squeal. Why don't I give you a lift? Glenn said with a smile. Ravel roared, 'Get lost, asshole...' 'Looks like I didn't hit you hard enough. Ravel shut up immediately. He glared at Glenn, then ran away, wary of Glenn, and left. 'Hey! No outsiders allowed in here,' the middle-aged man inside shouted. 'Got it,' Glenn replied, and then walked away leisurely. ... After buying several sets of clothes that fit him at the clothing store in town, and some tools such as hammers and rivets, Glenn returned with the cart pulling the packages. The sun had set by the time he left, and it was late when he returned home. A few fast moving dark shadows in the town of Bayek quickly ducked into corners when Glenn noticed them. Glenn just looked at them curiously and ignored them. He carried the things on the cart into the house and then walked towards the forest outside the town, a kerosene lantern in his hand. He wanted to see how the prey he had caught this morning was faring. The dim light swayed as he walked, the rusted frame creaking, and Glenn's shadow stretched long across the quiet street. He could actually see in the dark without the lantern, but it made him feel better. The beast sleeping by the trap suddenly pricked its ears, then lifted its head and sniffed the air, quickly realising who was there. It sat up excitedly, greeting the light that appeared before it. OK, first tell me if anything's happened while I've been away,' Glenn pushes the large, fluffy head of the beast that has come up to him. The beast whimpers, which means no. Glenn nods, walks lightly over to the trap and holds up the light. The black pigs, who were still panicking when they were caught, have all fallen asleep, including the moose. Sleep well, I'll be depending on you for the rest of my life... Glenn smiled contentedly and said to the beast, "Keep watching and come to me if there's anything you can't handle. The beast immediately nodded its head to show that it understood. Glenn patted its neck and took the lantern back the way he had come. ... The Ravel family lived in a mansion near Dudetown, and when the young lord returned, the servants in the mansion all opened their mouths in surprise. My God! Who has done this to the young master? It's terrible! 'Go tell the mistress! This is serious! Ravel had been crying all the way from school to here, and no matter what the servants said, he suddenly raised his voice and cried louder, his voice heard throughout the manor. In one of the manor's courtyards, three richly dressed and elegantly spoken noblewomen were laughing and chatting, ignoring the sharp words in the voice, but still quite harmonious. And this happy picture was soon shattered by Ravel's pig-like wailing. Oh my God! Who is that? Crying so ugly, it's really unbecoming! Madame Sophia raised her eyebrows and her complexion changed again, 'It's my Ravel! Ignoring the inquiries of her other two friends, she stood up quickly, picked up her skirt and hurried towards the source of the sound. Walking down the long corridor, Sophia saw her dishevelled son around the corner, surrounded by several servants, coming towards her. She let out a cry and took a few steps forward to check on him. Ravel's left cheek was already swollen, reddish-purple, with traces of blood on his mouth and nose. Together with the tears, it made Sophia's heart ache and her voice quiver. My love, tell me what happened? How did you get like this? Ravel cried, 'It was a commoner! He ran into the school and beat me! And he hit my entourage! 'What! A commoner!?' Sophia's voice was shrill, and her endless anger nearly made her faint. "This brazen commoner must be hanged! I swear on the family honour of the D'Erchira! She asked a maid standing nearby, "How long before my lord returns? 'He... should be on his way back, my lady,' the maid replied, trembling. Hurry and hurry him! Tell him something has happened to the young master! 'Yes.' ... Berlin leaves tomorrow. Why doesn't he want to see me? Lord Chanis, dressed in aristocratic clothes, whispered in a carriage. 'My lord, Lord Berlin may have his own difficulties. He doesn't want a rift between you and him,' said a soft voice from outside the carriage, coming from a middle-aged gentleman dressed as a butler. In other words, he knows what I want with him, so he doesn't want to see me? Chanis wondered. 'I think... yes,' the butler said, pausing slightly. The conversation was about to continue when the carriage suddenly stopped. 'What's going on?' Chanis frowned in displeasure. Master! Something's happened to the young master! My lady asked me to hurry you back! A worried female voice came from the carriage and Chanis' face suddenly changed. 'To the manor! Sailai!' 'Yes, master,' the butler agreed, immediately accelerating the carriage. Half an hour later. With a whinny from the horse, the carriage quickly reached the manor and Chanis hurriedly got out. 'Where's Ravell?' he asked, leaning on his stick as he walked. 'In the sitting room, sir,' replied one of the maids who had accompanied him. Seeing his wife and son in the sitting room, Chanis asked, 'What's going on? Are you blind? Lady Sophia pointed to Ravell's face. Chanis then realised the tragic state of his son. He dropped his walking stick and asked angrily, 'Who did this? It was a commoner named Glenn. He must be arrested and hanged from the gallows!' Sophia said viciously. 'Father, I'm in pain...' Ravel let out a pitiful grunt at the right moment. 'Barbel!' Chanis shouted. 'I'm here,' replied a knightly warrior in armour. 'Go...' Charnis paused, then turned to his son and asked, 'Where is this civilian called Glenn now? 'He said he lives in the city of Bayek,' Ravel said, crying. 'Yes, go to Bayek and bring him back to me! 'Understood. Barbor turned and took a few steps, but then he heard Charnis raise his voice a few decibels to stop him. 'Wait!' Barbor turned in confusion. 'Ravel, what did you say? This civilian lives in Bayek City?' Channis turned his head again and asked his son. Ravel nodded, indicating that he was certain. The answer made Channis hesitate. What is it? Channis, what's there to hesitate about? It's just a civilian. Are you going to stand by and do nothing while our son is being bullied?' Sophia asked in a very unhappy tone. Shut up!' Channis suddenly shouted.
