"My king, the women are back," Pearl said with a bow as soon as Lyle and I entered the grand foyer. Guards and servants all around bowed low, but I didn’t pay them any mind—I just wanted to check on Eden and see how she was doing.
"Where is she?" I asked, as a maid stepped forward offering Lyle a robe, which he graciously took.
In her room, "Paige said quietly, "They got back a few hours ago, and yes, she is fine and has eaten," she added with a bow, a wave of relief washing over me. The thought of them being alone out in BlackCreek Forest—especially after recent rogue attacks—made my stomach tighten. Whether it was my territory or not, I couldn’t bear the idea of Eden being out of my sight for a second longer.
