Chapter 7

Beatrix

He said I'm meant for something important, but what does that mean. I study his face, I accept his answer but I'm still skeptical on what that means. I'm nothing special.

Yes, you are Bea. Your a Hybrid and we were chosen by the goddess.

I know that, but its not like I'm the first hybrid in existence. What could be so special about me?

Stop, doubting yourself we are destined for greatness. You just need to believe in the goddess's plan.

But what is that plan?

I don't know. Maybe we should ask Alpha Dominic about hybrids. I mean we don't know a lot about them so maybe he will have some answers.

Maybe, we'll see what happens and if I can fully trust them.

You know you can stop doubting them. You know something deep down is telling you that they will care and protect you no matter what. Especially because we are chosen by the moon goddess herself.

Okay I'll try to trust them more but this is on a trial basis, deal?

Deal, and if anything does happen I'll make sure to get us out of there, okay.

Alright, I'll trust you judgment Ash.

Someone clearing their throat pulls me from my conversation with Ashton. Looking up in to Alpha Dominic's eyes I see curiosity.

"Sorry me and my wolf were talking." I state shyly

"Its quite alright little flower. Lets head home. Do you want to shift and run or do you want to walk in your human form?"

Contemplating my answer I think to what I told Ash about trying to trust him more. I look into his eyes and say "I want to shift it'll be quicker."

He smiles down at me seemingly happy with my answer. I quickly run behind a tree and strip off my clothes and shift. When I'm done I step out with my head slightly lowered so they don't see the mark on my forehead.

While looking down I see familiar white paws step into my eyesight. Hesitantly I lift my head to look at him. His eyes slightly widen, then he looks back at my eyes and smiles the best he can in wolf form. Pride shines brightly in his eyes as he looks at me. Looking away from him to the others I notice that they all have the same shine their Alpha does.

Taking a step forward I motion for us to start our journey back to the castle. As we run through the woods I feel an over whelming feeling of freedom flood my system. Without realizing it I start to pick up my pace. The feeling of the wind running through my fur, and the weight of my paws hitting the ground as I speed my through the forest is over whelming. Not realizing it I lost Alpha Dominic and his men, when I look behind me I see them pushing themselves to run faster. Slowly I come to a slow jog waiting for them to catch up.

They finally make their way up to me and I let out yips of amusement. The king and his men glare at me playfully. We start walking again and notice that we're nearing the edge of the tree line. I walked behind a tree and shift back I quickly pull on my hoodie and shorts again. I walk out to notice that all five men have shifted back and put on some basketball shorts.

Leaving the tree line I get my first glimpse at the royal castle. It's absolutely beautiful, reminding me of an old Scottish castle. It looks like it belongs in the highlands not here. Four large towers surround the perimeter, a drawbridge to allow access into the castles interior. After I walk over the drawbridge it opens up to a large court yard. Taking the immense size of the court yard I didn't even realize that Alpha Dominic has paced his hand on my back to guide me inside.

I was mesmerized with outside, but the inside took away my breath it was a collection of antique and modern that surprisingly blended perfectly. Beige walls surround me with deep red curtains, polished white marble floors and a large stair case that look like it went on forever.

So wrapped up in my own inspection of the home I didn't see the men staring at me with smiles of amusement. An older woman approaches me, pulling me from the beauty that surrounds me. Looking down with a blush, a little embarrassed, she lets out a light laugh that instantly fills anyone with joy as they hear it. I look up smiling at her.

"Who do we have her?" She asks with a kind smile.

"This is Beatrix, she'll be staying with us from now on." he states.

Slightly bowing her head "Of course your majesty. Follow my dear ill show you to your room so you can freshen up before dinner is served."

I look back at Alpha Dominic to see what I should do. He gestures for me to follow her.

"Go, little flower we'll be here when you come back." ha says with a reassuring smile. I nod my head turning towards the older woman.

Racing behind her to catch up she's all ready got a good lead on me. When I finally catch up to her I say "You know my name is Beatrix but I don't know yours."

"My name is Eden, sweet girl." she says smiling

"Well its nice to met you Eden." I flash my best smile

"Here is your room." she turns to leave but stops " Beatrix can I ask you something?"

"Sure what is it?" Why does the king call you little flower?"

This puzzled me cause I don't even know why he calls me that. I look at her and simply say "I don't know why he does. He's called me that since he met me when I was a child in the crescent moon pack."

Seemingly satisfied with that answer she turns away. Grasping the door handle I slowly push open the door and look around the room. The walls are a light tan color with a blood red carpet and matching curtains. There's a king-size four pollster bed, with black silk sheets. On the wall across from the bed is a large flat screen TV and two doors on either side of it. I notice a sitting area with a black leather couch and two chairs near the window.

Making my way towards the door on the right side of the flat screen, opening I realize it the large walk in closet that I could never even imagine filling. Walking back into the room I go towards the other door opening up to the largest bathroom I've ever seen. There's a large glass walk in shower that could fit at least ten people, a Jacuzzi tub that I already cant wait to use. On the black marble counter I see a several bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, along with a new razor and toothbrush. Turning on the shower so can heat up while I get out of my dirty clothes. When the bathroom is full of steam I hop in and start to wash myself, finally seeing the dirt wash from my body, I scrub my self with the body wash that smells of strawberry's and cream.

After I finished cleaning my self and shaving I finally get out. Walking over to the sink I brush my teeth and brush my hair. When I'm done I walk out placing my hair into a side braid. I look up yo see a teal colored dress on the bed with a note.

The dress is for you come down when your ready

Putting the note back on the bed I pick up the dress and place it against my body. Its a halter dress with a sweetheart neckline, the dress clings to my waist till it flows out at my hips, ending about mid thigh. I quickly grab a lacey black strapless bra and matching underwear. When done I notice a pair of flats that match the dress perfectly. After putting on the flats I make my way out of the room, but I get lost. I quickly get frustrated, using my sense of smell I follow the scent of food down the stairs to a large dinning room.

There is more than just Alpha Dominic and his men there are at least ten other men. But one man in particular has all my attention. He as dark brown hair, a pale complexion, straight nose with a round face. The most striking feature is his eyes, their the same as mine. We stare at each other for what feels like years before someone clears their throat, pulling me back into reality.

Looking over at Alpha Dominic I ask " Alpha who are these men?"

"You don't need to call me Alpha little flower." "Yes Al..." he shoots me a warning glare "I mean Dominic." he smiles triumphantly.

"These men are all apart of the council. And the man that you were just staring at..." I cut him off "I wasn't staring." He arched one of his eyebrows. "Okay...... I was staring." I sigh defeated.

"Well the man that you weren't staring at is named James." He says with a teasing smile.

I roll my eyes and focus my attention back on the other men around the table. After introducing them they all give me a curt nod. I look back to the man that I now know as James, gets up and comes over and extends his hand for me to shake. Taking his hand in me I feel power flush my system forcing my powers to the surface. My hair changes to it Silver color that I have when I use my powers and breaks from the braid it was in.

Everyone in the room gasps, I snatch my hand away from him and look around. Everyone in the room is looking at me curiously. I finally pull my eyes back to James and he is just smiling at me with so much love and adoration.

Dominic is the first to break the silence "What just happened? What are you Beatrix?"

Scared of his reaction I look down but answer honestly " I'm a hybrid, half-wolf half-witch."

Placing a hand on my left shoulder "And my daughter." James states proudly making everyone's head snap in his direction.

"I didn't know you had a daughter." Dominic says

"I didn't either but I remember that I slept with someone along time ago. I'm not real proud of it, I was drunk and don't quite remember all of it. But I knew she was my daughter when I saw her eyes. Only other witches can have eyes like her, of course mine is the most rare and powerful."

Not sure what to say about all of this I turn and run from the dinning room. I hear them calling my name asking me to stop. But I don't I just keep going I need to process everything I was just told. As I run through the castle I make my way out side to a hedge maze that takes up the back of the property.

Not sure where I'm going I just kept running through the maze. I finally stop when I reach the center of the maze. Taking a breath I take in my surroundings there is a beautiful gazebo in the middle with rose vines climbing all over it. There's enough moonlight for me to see a bench inside. Taking a seat I reflect everything I just learned.
