Chapter 4

Alex P.O.V

Waking to Jax bouncing around in my head. He's giving me a headache. I slowly open my eyes I see Courtney in my bed and for some reason I feel disgusted with myself that she's here in my bed. ignoring the feeling I pry her hand off of my waist and get up to get ready for my day.

What's up with you? Why are you so jumpy? I ask

Oh you'll see. And I'm not jumpy I'm excited. Jax states in an annoyed tone

Whatever. To tired to even deal with his cryptic answers

Making my way to the bathroom I hop in the shower and wash me self. Upset that I see some of Courtney's fake tan come off. Washing off the last of it I hop out start brushing my teeth when I'm done with all my business I walk out to see Courtney gone. Not caring I walk over to my closet and pull out a black shirt and a pair of red joggers with my favorite black Jordan's. Finally dressed I run my hand thru my hair so it gives my a messy look.

Alright pretty boy enough with the hair lets go. Jax states annoyed

What's up your ass? Your never in a hurry to get to school.

Jax blocks me and moves to the back of my mind. Whatever he is acting really weird. Making my way down stairs I see my dad and mom at the table eating breakfast.

"Your up early honey." My mom says

"Yeah I know, for some reason is all jumpy today and I don't know why and he wont tell me." I states exasperated by my wolf.

"Huh that's weird, maybe something good is going to happen" she says happily.

"I don't know maybe. Good morning dad how's everything?" I address my dad

"Morning Alex, all's good just a problem with some rogues that's it" he says going back to his paper as if I'm not there.

Sighing, I get up to leave and head to school. I quickly grab and apple on my way out. kissing my mom on the cheek before I leave. Quickly getting out of the house I hop in my Range rover and start driving towards school. I park in my normal spot, I get out and greet my friends.

"Sup Alex" my beta josh says. He has light blonde hair and green eyes.

"Nothing much just Jax is all jumpy today." I state

"What do you mean jumpy?" "I don't know all he said this morning is he's excited but I don't know what for. Stupid Wolf."

Hey I heard that.

I know you were suppose to.

Before I try and get an answer out of Jax on why he's excited, I smell the most amazing smell its green apples and honey. Its intoxicating, Jax is saying something in the back of my mind but I cant make it out. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen walks up to my group with her eyes closed. Not understanding why I take this time to check her out. She has pale skin that makes her black hair stand out more just begging my to run my hands through, shaping her body perfectly all the way to her hips.

I take in her long legs in her socks that come up to her lower thigh and her skirt that comes to her mid thigh showing off a small strip of skin. I rake my eyes up her body and see a small midriff showing off her toned stomach. Seeing the leather jacket just makes her even more sexy. Finally making it to her face gazing at her perfect full bow shaped lips just asking for my lips to pressed against. I take in her button nose and her beautiful violet eyes that look like the most beautiful gems.

Jax pushes to the for front of my mind screaming Mate as loud as he can and wagging is tail like a love sick puppy.

"Mate" Slips from me it makes her smile brighten. She has the most amazing smile I have ever seen. Images flash through my mind of me holding her, kissing her, marking her and mating her. Image after image flood my mind until....

"Mate" she states proudly pulling me from my day dream of making love to her. That's when I realize Beatrix is my mate. No this cant be right, I'm suppose to be mated to a beautiful strong wolf, not her.

Don't you dare reject my mate! Jax states angrily

Not paying him any mind I quickly grab her by the arm and drag her away. Sparks shooting up my arm making me second guess for just a second guess for just a second.

"No way, I cant have you as my mate. My mate is suppose to be beautiful, strong. Not some ugly weak little girl that wasn't even suppose to exist." I say with as much hatred I can muster. I instantly regret what I said when I see sadness over take her features.

"Why are you saying that your my mate. Your suppose to love me and protect me" she says with her voice slightly cracking. Hearing her in pain makes my heart clench making me want to comfort her. But I know I cant do that, I can feel Jax trying to push at the back of my mind.

Getting angry I yell "Your not my mate" She looks down sad seeing her eyes brim with tears making me want to take back what I said. I walk up to her and grab her chin so I can see those beautiful violet eyes. Felling the sparks shooting up my arm I snatch my had back as quickly as I can.

I cant have her as my mate she's weak she'll never be able to lead the pack. How is she suppose to lead a pack when she cant even stand up for herself. I'm doing this for the good of the pack.

"I Alexander Nathan Holland reject you Beatrix Lilith Willow as my mate and right to Luna" when I say these words I hear a sob escape her. I look at her with regret and guilt. Why do I feel this she's weak I can do better. Masking my face with hatred and disgust. Slowly she stands up straight and squares her shoulders. Wiping away the tears she said I see all emotion drain her face.

"I Beatrix Lilith Willow accept the rejection of Alexander Nathan Holland" she states coldly. I feel my heart clench in my chest. Over whelmed by sadness for a mere second I remind myself it for the good of the pack and school my emotions again.

Watching as she runs out of the school grounds, Jax breaks through.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT ? THAT WAS MY MATE. SHE WAS OUR ONLY CHANCE AT TRUE HAPPINESS. He yells at me angrily.

Calm down we can do better than her. Plus this is for the good of the pack.

Fuck the pack that was my mate! He says before blocking me from our connection

Turning back to my friends I act as if nothing happened.

Little did I know I would come to regret my rejection of Beatrix Willow.
