I’m so shocked that my jaw literally drops like some sort of cartoon character. This doesn’t make any sense, but there he is. The guy from my dream is walking up to Mr. Carter to shake his hand.
“Hi, my name is Gabriel Gomez, but you can call me Gabe. I just transferred here and I got a little lost, but I think this is the right class.”
Mr. Carter smiles at the beautiful man of my dreams and replies, “yes, I was expecting you Gabe. I was just going over the syllabus for the semester. You can grab a copy from that front desk and find an empty seat. Whoever you share a desk with, will be your lab partner for the duration of the class.”
“Of course, thank you sir.” Gabe then scans the room and as his mocha eyes find mine his smile grows.
Maybe I’m imagining it. I mean why would he be smiling at me? He can’t possibly know I dreamt about him. Oh s***! My mouth is still hanging open. I probably look like an i***t and that’s why he’s looking at me like that.
Just as I regain enough sense to close my mouth, he starts walking towards the empty chair next to me. As he makes his way towards my table, I take him in. He looks to be a little over six feet tall with a very athletic body. His fitted black v-neck shirt accents his broad chest and shoulders, and his large muscular arms. His left arm is completely covered in intricate black ink; which looks like a large tribal tattoo. I can tell he doesn’t skip leg day by glancing at his slim fitted blue jeans.
Looking back up at his face, I am again shocked by his beauty. His almond shaped, mocha eyes are surrounded by thick, dark lashes. His high check bones and hardened jaw line make him look like a male model. His full lips are are almost pouty and perfectly kissable. I can’t help but think how they would feel pressed against my own as I run my fingers through his silky, jet black hair.
I am abruptly snapped from my day dreaming, as Gabriel takes a seat beside me and smiles broadly, revealing his almost perfect teeth; his right incisor is slightly crooked, which is absolutely adorable.
“Hey, looks like we’re going to be partners,” he says smoothly keeping a hint of that breathtaking smile on his lips. And by breathtaking, I mean, yes. I literally forgot to breathe. I begin, while hoping I look cool and calm, to smile back and suck in a deep breath. As I do, that smell of pine and citrus overtakes my senses and I basically lose my mind.
My eyes flutter shut and a small moan escapes my still smiling lips. I open my eyes and realize I’ve unconsciously leaned closer to Gabriel and now my head is almost at his toned chest. As I look up into his eyes, he says something in a low deep growl that almost sounds like “mine” and makes my entire body heat in the best way.
“Oh. Ahh, I’m sorry,” I manage to get out as I back away from him and attempt to straighten myself out in my chair. “That was super weird of me. I just ..well, your cologne um, smells nice.”
“Oh that’s quite alright. You smell absolutely delicious yourself,” he replies, completely unfazed by my awkwardness.
“Um, thanks. Anyways, my name is Jules. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” I say, sticking my hand out for him to shake.
Rather than shaking it, Gabriel takes my hand, surprisingly gently, into his own large, calloused hand, and brings it to his lips. He presses a light kiss on the back of my hand and that small touch causes me to quiver from pure desire. “The pleasure is mine, mi amor.” He looks directly into my eyes after saying this, and I have a powerful urge to climb into his lap and press my own kisses to every inch of his apparently perfect body.
But then I remember, we are in the middle of physics class. I quickly pull my hand back and smooth it over my skinny jeans. I scan the classroom to see if anyone noticed our awkward, and intense encounter. All of our classmates are focused on their laps, presumably, on their phones. And, Mr.Carter is enthusiastically discussing our many group projects for the semester. It seems we managed to go unnoticed.
I clear my throat, sit slightly stiffly in my seat, and keep my face glued to the front of the room for the remainder of class. Every now and then I allow myself to peak at my neighbor, and every time, I find him leaning on the desk nonchalantly staring at me.
By the end of class I am beet red from blushing so hard each time I saw him looking at me, and the ache between my legs has gotten seriously uncomfortable from simply being near him.
I’ve never felt like this about anyone, and this guy is a total stranger who has said only a handful of words to me. I mean, I’ve had some crushes throughout the years. They’ve all led absolutely nowhere. I’ve also had some guys interested in me, that again, led nowhere.
There’s Hunter, who once upon a time, was my best friend. However, once we got into middle school, he decided I was supposed to be his girlfriend and I didn’t want that, so he got really upset and started saying terrible things about me. People eventually forgot the terrible rumors, but I didn’t. And he still has some sort of grudge against me and is always making rude comments or giving me nasty looks when we run into each other now.
And I guess I did technically date one guy last year, but that really shouldn’t count. Trevor took me on a few dates: the movies, putt-putt, and a school dance. But there was no chemistry there and I ended things before he got his hopes up too much.
But just being in the same room as Gabriel gets me hot and heavy. And I don’t think I’m comfortable with this. I’ve always liked to be in control, and when I’m near him, I’m definitely NOT in control.
As the ending bell rings, I start to gather my things into my backpack and attempt to not look his way, but there’s this strange magnetism about him that I can’t fight.
“So, this sounds like it will be a good class,” I say, just because I want to say something and am not great at being clever or flirty, so this seemed safe.
“Hmm, yeah. I will definitely be enjoying this class Jules.”
The way he says my name makes my knees weak. I absentmindedly push a loose hair behind my ear and ask, “what class do you have next? I could show you where it is so you don’t get lost.”
“That would be lovely, mi amor.”
I smile up at him, forgetting my nerves, and we head out into the crowded hall.
