JACK WAS DELIGHTED to put his shoes on and go out for ice cream. Myrtle decided to change into some dry clothes before they left since she was still damp from all the ice fishing. The trick was to keep up with Jack. Miles gave her an alarmed look as they half-ran toward the diner. “Need to borrow my cane, Miles?” asked Myrtle a bit breathlessly.
