I stared at my dinner date as he enjoyed his soup. Clark ate with gusto, chomping his mouth and slurping his soup like a three year old. Half of me was repulsed but the other was a bit intrigued. When I dated – not that this situation even remotely constituted as a date – my partner was usually on his best behavior. How attracted we felt during the dinner course would usually stipulate how soon we left to get dessert. I rarely ate in the company of someone who enjoyed their food with no thought to impressing me or ensuring that I’d be in the mood when the plates were cleared. It was oddly fascinating.
