One month had passed since their meeting with Adhemar, and Rodrigo and Geoffrey had been spending their nights in a guard tower of the outpost at the southwestern gate, keeping watch until the early morning hours and then sleeping the better part of the day.
“At least we don’t have to spend our days doing camp duties,” said Geoffrey as he gazed out into the darkened plain between the tower and the city gate.
