The next evening on June 2, much to Rodrigo’s surprise and excitement, his request was granted, and he was summoned to Tancred’s outpost while the rest of the Crusaders were ordered to prepare their armor and weapons and stand at the ready inside the camp and outposts. Inside the fortifications at Tancred’s outpost, Rodrigo joined Bohemond and fifty of his soldiers that had he handpicked for the mission.
