Kenzie and Adam were sitting with a few of their friends when the rest of the gang walked in, except for two of their group. Which Kenzie didn’t know that they took off on their own to try and help. Adam hasn’t told her that he let them go because he didn’t want her to try and stop them.

“Has anyone seen Haven or Garrett?” Kenzie asked everyone

Everyone said they haven’t seen them. Then she looked at Adam and she noticed that Adam wouldn’t look at her in the eyes. So, she knew that he was not telling her something. She just wasn’t sure how she should handle it.

“Adam I need to talk with you in my office please,” Announced in front of everyone.

Kenzie and Adam headed to her office and left everyone at the table to talk amongst themselves. When they got into the office Kenzie closed the door behind them and looked right into his eyes. Adam knew he was in trouble because it was written all over Kenzie’s face.

“Would you like to tell me what you are keeping from me?” Kenzie asked him with a sad look on her face.

“I’m not sure how or where, to begin with, this,” Adam responded to her.

“How about you start with telling me what you are keeping form me then we can cover the rest,” Kenzie said without looking at him.

“Haven and Garret came to me and told me their plan. They wanted to head out to find your Aunt to see if they could dig up some information on her and her whereabouts. They are to call me every two days with an update of their whereabouts.” Adam explained to her with his head down

“Do you want to explain why you didn’t want to tell me?” Kenzie wanted answers from Adam and she would wait till he gave them to her.

“I didn’t want you to worry and take on more stress than you already have. I figured I would bare this instead of you.” Adam pleaded with her to understand

“Adam, I thought we were a team not this that you have started to turn us into. If you are not going to share information with me when we are not a team. Then we can’t work. I need you to be with me as a whole not apart from me if this it to work. Do you understand what I am saying to you, Adam?” Kenzie said to him

“I’m sorry Kenzie and yes we are a team, I just thought I was doing the right thing for us,” Adam responded to her.

“I understand and I do forgive you, but if this happens again I will not take you as my mate. I will not have you go behind my back and make a decision for me.” Kenzie said as she walked out leaving Adam there in the office.

Adam wasn’t sure what to do now. He was lost in thought when he realized that she wasn’t in the office any longer. He got up and went to find her. He found her with the others at the table. He hears Kenzie telling everyone about Heaven and Garret.

“I was just informed that Haven and Garett when off on their own to find the whereabouts of my Aunt. I guess we need to break off the into teams as soon as we can. The sooner we get the information and everything else that we need the better. We have no idea how soon my Aunt will come for me. So all of you need to be careful and stay safe. You will also need to report to me every day or two days so I can know where you are and what is going on.” Kenzie said to the group

Kenzie just waited for everyone to get their thoughts together. Before she went on with what she needed to say to the next.

“Kenzie we have the groups set up and we are ready when you are. I just get the feeling you are going to say more to us,” Shasha was saying

“I know you have your groups set up and yes there is more. I am going to send my Aunt a formal invitation to come to visit here so I can meet her face to face and see what she has to say.” Kenzie announced that to everyone and they were shocked to hear what she just said.

“No, you can’t do that,” Scott yelled out

“I can’t stand by and watch you hand yourself over to your Aunt on a platter,” Dusty was next to get mad about all of this.

“I didn't ask you if you approve or not. I was just letting you know what I was going to do. I can’t stand by and let others risk their lives for me and I am not willing to do it myself. This is all because of me and I will do no less than I ask of my friends.” Kenzie argued back with them.

Everyone was quiet for a while, then Adam walked up and stood beside her, he just looked at everyone.

“Kenzie is right. She is wanting to be the person you all want her to be, but when she stands up and wants to do the right thing, you guys yell at her for doing just that. I may not agree with how she is doing it but I stand behind her for her wanting to try.” Adam let everyone know where he stood.

Everyone thought over everything was said today. Till the bell rang over the diner and they all looked over at the door. That’s when they all felt the power coming off the person who walked in the door. Kenzie walks up to him and “ask if she can help you”.

“Yes, I am looking for someone and I was told I could find them here.” Powerful man said

“Who are you looking for I might be to help you,” she asked him with a smile.

“I’m looking for Kenzie and ShaSha,” he replied to her

“Who are you and why are you looking for them?” She asked him with caution.

“Oh, I’m sorry my name is Killian and I’m here to help them out with the upcoming war,” Killian replied to her

“It’s nice to meet you and how did you hear about the war and who told you to come looking for Kenzie and ShaSha?” Kenzie asked

“Hevan and her mate Garrett sent me here Kenzie. I know who you are because I am a fae. So please don’t take me as dumb or anything like that. I’m here to help and she told me ShaSha since you two are usually together. Did I answer everything that you was wanting to know?” Killian just made Kenzie’s mouth drop open as well as shocked the rest of the group.

“Sorry, I can’t be too careful these days. Come and join us at the table and meet everyone.” Kenzie gesture toward the table for him to join everyone.

Kenzie introduced Killian to everyone and let him on what they were planning so far. Killian listens while everyone talked so he could get a feel for how everyone was thinking. He felt that they were forgetting to reach out to the other supernaturals for help.

“I think you are forgetting the other supernaturals out there. A lot of them would help stand in this war because they know it would affect them all. I think you need to reach out to them.” Killian spoke out

“What do you mean Killian?” ShaSha asked him

“Well, we all have a stake in this if you look at the full picture. See if the one who wants to be queen gets it and she is the wrong one that means evil will rule our lands and no more peace for any of us. If the rightful queen rules then we all keep peace and happiness rains out through our land.” Killian explained

“I can see your point, but you are saying they will want to help if we reach out to them?” Kenzie asked in wonderment

“Yes, Kenzie all you would need to do is call for a meeting to all head leaders of each group. Then talk to them about what you are looking for and needing.” Killian explained to her.

“If we do this then we would need to get started on getting the invitations out for the meeting right away.” Scott started to explain.

“Yes we should get on that right now and get it set up for a week from today,” Dusty joined in

“Wait, Kenzie hasn’t said if that is the way she wanted to go. You two can’t just come in here and think you can take over when she is still known to all of this. She is the one you guys keep saying is the true queen here, so let here be the queen then.” ShaSha spoke up to Dusty and Scott

The rest of the group agreed with her. They all wanted them to stop thinking they can run things and Kenzie to just stand there and take it from them. It was getting to all of them, that they tried to have it both ways.

“Look I do thank all of you for your concern on both sides, but Dusty, Scott the group is right. I am a big girl and I can handle this. You guys need to back off and let me handle this. Give advice don’t try and take over because you won’t like me if you push me too far.” Kenzie warned them.

They shook their head letting her know that they understood where she was coming from. Adam stood next here smiling and very proud of her on how she was handling everything. Kenzie was trying to be strong through all of this and show everyone that she could this, but part of her still had some doubt that she was capable of doing this.

“Kenzie what are you thinking of doing with this new information that we all was giving?” Conner asked her

“I’m thinking we should ask for the meeting. It would help us in numbers and it would help build alliances with the others as well.” Kenzie stated

“I think that would be a good idea.” Adam agreed with her

“Thank you, Adam. Dusty and Scott, I need you to make a list of all groups and who their leaders are. If you need I’m sure Killian would be glad to help you guys with that list. ShaSha and Conner see if you can get one of the big halls for our meeting make it for as soon as possible. I will also need a list of food that will be good for everyone to eat and how we plan to serve everyone. Dylan, Russell, Jake, and Sam I will need you guys to have a security plan in place and safety measures for this, please. If anyone else can think of anything that we may need for this please let me know now.” Kenzie informed all of them

No one spoke up and they all got down to business on what they need to do. Kenzie went to her office to check on things for her cafe. She has done some online supply ordering and took down the online orders she had to get shipped out in a week me. Once all of that was done she went back out to see how the gang was doing. Then she noticed that Adam was gone and he didn’t say anything to her about leaving. She wondered where he went and why he left without saying anything.

“Has anyone seen Adam?” Kenzie asked the group

They all shook their heads no and she walked to the door of the cafe. She looked outside and seen him out there on the phone. Part of her wanted to walk out there and see who he was talking to but the other part wanted to see if he would tell her or keep it from her. So she walked back to her office to wait to see what Adam would do.

Adam pov

I had to take this call it was Haven. I will just go outside and talk to her so I can hear and then I will tell Kenzie. I can’t mess this up with her, I love her too much to lose her now. Hello, this is Adam speaking. Haven what’s wrong? Adam couldn’t believe what he was told by Haven. He is going to have to tell Kenzie and see how she wants to handle all of this now. She is not going to like this and she is

going to be pissed off. I am not sure how I am going to tell her all of this now. I guess now is as good as any.

Adam finished his call with Haven and then headed back inside to the cafe. He knew he needed to talk with Kenzie right away so that they can inform the rest about Garrett and Haven before they return.
