Has everyone gathered around at the tables they all took up at the back of the cafe? They all was wonder what they were going to do. One of their own was already hurt, even if he has started to heal. No one was sure what to do next or how to start.

“Ok, everyone listens up. Garrett is going to tell us things from his point of view. We all heard Havens and we need to hear his. This way we can look at every angle out there for how to proceed from here. We know my Aunt is up to something and now she has found some other creatures to help her out. Things that most of us haven’t seen or heard of in a very long time. Garrett, the floor is yours.” Kenzie said talk to everyone and introduced Garrett.

“Thank you, Kenzie. I’m sure Haven has told you all that I was attacked. I am fine now, only thanks to Killian. We found a lead just outside Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA. We were looking for this old lady a witch or seer I guess is what the locals thought she was. We figure she could be able to tell us something that we may have not thought of or heard things that Conner may not of since she doesn’t run in those kinds of circles. But on our way there we were attacked by these flying creatures and they kept trying to get at our skin. While we were fighting those of a shot was fired and hit me close to my heart, then this tiger lion creature with mixed matched eyes came out of the alley so fast and bitten me in the shoulder. I was able to stab him in the arm with one of my small blades. He let go and then took off because the bird things started to attack him as well. Then the next thing I know Haven is digging the bullet out of me and then driving like a mad woman back here while talking to Adam on the phone. Then Killian appeared inside the care and started fixing me up. I hope this helps.” Garrett finished telling his side of the story and sat back down.

“Do you still have the blade that you stab the beast with?” Trent asked Garrett

“Yeah, I should. It should be in my clothes that are in the car. Why?” Garrett responded

“Well, I was thinking we could see if he is a true hybrid born and breed my nature or if he was created in a lab or something. Plus, we may be able to do a tracking spell on the beast with his blood.” Trent explained to everyone

Everyone started talking among themselves. They all had a lot to think about until the door of the cafe busted open and three weird looking bird-like creatures walked in like they owned the place. Which that just pissed off Kenzie to no end. She made sure to let the newcomers know about it too.

“I don’t know who you think you are just busting in here like that. I guess you three can’t read or have a problem with knocking.” Kenzie shouted at the new arrivals.

The three newcomers just looked at her with amusement on their faces. None of them in a big hurry to explain themselves to her. Then they were shocked when Kenzie has done a weird hand move and slammed them against the wall and held them there.

“I think you three have some explaining to do and I want answers now,” Kenzie demanded

The three newcomers eyes got real big and they looked a little scared. So, one was about to say something when Adam walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

“Kenzie please let these three down off the wall. I’m sure they are ready to use manners now and explain themselves.” Adam talked to Kenzie but kept his eyes on the three newcomers.

“Your Kenzie. You are so young, like a child. You can’t be who we have come to join up with to stop the evil queen from taking over.” One of the three spoke up

“I am Kenzie and I am no child. I may be young in your years but not in mine. Do tell of this evil queen you speak of.” Kenzie responded to the one that spoke up

“How about you first tell us who you are,” Adam spoke up before anyone else could get Kenzie fired up again.

“Sorry, I am Eric, this one here on my right is Erica, the one that stuck his foot in his mouth is Drew. We came to help because the evil queen is trying to force us to work for her and take over our area.” Eric said to Adam.

“It’s nice to meet all of you. Please come and meet everyone properly. This way we all can see where you are coming from and what you are like,” Kenzie announced

“How did you hear about Kenzie?” Killian asked them

The three bird creatures looked at each other and then at everyone else. They didn’t know what to say.

“Why can’t you answer that question?” Scott asked them

“Well it’s a long story and you may not like it at first,” Erica spoke up

“How about you tell us and let us decide what we like and don’t like,” Kenzie stated

“I can do that. It started about a month ago. I came across someone new in our territory and they were hurting one of the younger ones.” Erica started telling her story

“Can I ask what the person looked like that was hurting the little one?” Kenzie asked Erica

“It was a man but not a normal man. He was tall a lot taller than a human but he didn’t smell like a shifter either. It was off and I couldn’t place what I was smelling. “ Erica tried to explain

“Was you able to see a face or anything that could help find him.” “Adam asked her

“Yes, He had dirty blonde hair and mixed match eyes.” Erica went on to say

“Hey, that sounds like the guy that attacked me on the way to the old witch/seer person,” Garrett exclaimed.

“Do you think they could have been the same person?” Erica asked with a questioning look on her face.

“That is the question of the day,” Kenzie said out loud

“Continue with your story please.” Adam gestured

“Well, he looks at me and takes off. I took the young child home to see our healer and told my brothers here what happens. We went looking for the person, that when we noticed you guys walking. We sense that you guys were a hunter with a shifter and thought we would follow you. Then we overheard a conversation about Kenzie and all the war and things to come. We figured that he was part of the war. Then this woman showed up at our village just outside Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA. She demanded us to follow her and do her bidding and our leaders told her no that we are a peaceful village and don’t want any part of the war. She told them they had no choice they were with her or with you. Then she killed one of the leaders to make her point and then left but said they had three days to make up their mind. So, we told the leaders what we overheard and they sent us to find you and ask if you could come to talk to them. But by the time we got back to where we knew where you guys where you had left and we didn’t know why. So it took a little while for us to track you down.” Erica explained it the best that she could.

“Thank you, Erica, for explaining things to me. The woman that you are referring to is my long lost Aunt that I have never met and don’t know. She is after my power and my position. Something that I just learned about.” Kenzie tried explained

“So, let me get this straight your related to this person that has killed one of my leaders and you want us to trust you guys, plus your hand with hunters. How are we to believe anything you say?” Eric was screaming and getting angry with every passing moment.

Killian walks up to Eric and gives him a look that says he better get himself under control or there will be problems. Eric just didn’t seem to get what was being told to him. He just sees red where Kenzie was concerned.

“You better get yourself under control, Kenzie can’t help who she is related to. Plus, she never knew who she was until about three months ago. So, get yourself under control now.” Adam said through his teeth.

“How could she not know? Was she living under a rock?” Eric screamed at Adam

That did it for Kenzie she twirled her finger around in circles and taped the wall. Eric was pinned up against the wall and couldn’t move.

“Hey, how did you do that?” Drew spoke for the first time. Which caused his sister and brother to look at him in shock.

“You spoke. I can’t believe it. You haven’t said a word in over a year.” Eric was so happy to hear her youngest brother talk again.

“Ok, this is something we will deal with in a minute. Eric you are going to control yourself and shut up and I will tell you my story. I just don’t care what you think about me. I have done nothing wrong but be there for my friends and loved ones. I was raised by a human family. My real parents hide me away to protect me from my Aunt. She killed my parents when they wouldn’t tell her where to find me. Then she killed my grandmothers for the same thing. My Grandfathers were the ones who took me away to be hidden. So they were the only ones who knew where I was, but she was gone by the time they had gotten back from hiding me away. The family I was with started out being nice to me, but then somehow my Aunt found me and paid them to be mean to me, but still take care of me till I reached the age of my powers. She planned to come and get me then without a fight. But, Adam came along and helped me find out some of my stories. Then my grandfathers found out that my Aunt knew about me and they came to help me and finish telling me who I was. I am just now learning my powers and my friends are shifters and hunters. They now only go after the shifter on the wrong side. Who target humans and other shifters. I showed them how to tell the difference. Now you know my story, I don’t care if it made a difference or not. I’m still going to do what is right with your help or without it. I have people here that will stand with me already. More would be nice.” Kenzie explained it all

Everyone was quiet for a long time. You could have heard a pin drop in the cafe. No one expected to Kenzie to lay it out like that. It surprised everyone. No one knew what to say to her or anyone else after that.

“Can I ask you something?” Eric asked Kenzie with a confused look on his face.

“Sure, I have nothing to hide from you or anyone else,” Kenzie replied

“How did your Aunt find out about you and knew that you would have powers when you got older?” Eric asked but it was something a lot of them wanted to know. It was Scott that spoke up to answer that.

“Kenzie is a true Hybrid of werewolf and a vampire. Both of them had great power of their own. They were meant to rule the land overall in a fair way, kind and loving way to bring us all into a new beginning. Kenzie’s Aunt didn’t have that kind of power. She had some but nowhere near what her sister had. Kenzie’s Aunt was the oldest and she was pissed when she realized that her baby sister ended up with the power instead of her. Then when her sister married the man she was in love with and it wasn’t her mate she became even worse. She tried so hard to be more but the goddess didn’t choose her and denounced the goddess and became nothing but of the darkness. She is now the Queen of the darkness the evil she once was supposed to fight against she became. Kenzie was born and the Evil Queen knew she would have great power since both parents did. Kenzie only got a year with her parents before her Aunt came for her parents and took both their hearts and took some of the power they had. Now she wants Kenzie and that power she would be untouchable. That is why we need to make sure that doesn’t happen. “ Scott explained and hung his head low in memory of his lost family.

“You see Kenzie is all we have left of our children and mates. We can’t let anything happen to her. We can’t lose what is left of our family.” Dusty added in.

That made everyone start talking to everyone and you didn’t know what anyone was saying. Kenzie couldn’t take it any longer she let out a loud scream to shut everyone up. The room went still and no one made a sound.

“You all can’t talk at once. I know you all have a question, but it needs to be one at a time not all at once.” Kenzie exclaimed.

“Kenzie we need to figure this out quick before that woman and get her hands on you. We don’t want to lose you and we don’t want to live in darkness.” Shasha said stated

“Scotty, How come you didn’t tell us all of this sooner? Why keep it from us?” Haven asked him.

“I didn’t think it was relevant at the time and we didn’t want to upset Kenzie.” Scotty tried to explain

“You didn’t think it was relevant that I should know how and why my parents died? On top of why my crazy ass Aunt is after me. Then that I didn’t have long with my parents before you took me away and teaching me nothing to grow up in the dark. How could you?” Kenzie was pissed and yelled at him.

“Kenzie, we weren’t sure that she would come after you and we didn’t want to leave you in the open for her to pick off,” Dusty explained

“That is no excuse. Plus, we all know that she found me somehow and made my life hell even without me knowing of her.” Kenzie said in full anger.

“ We don’t know how she found out about you. We have been trying to find out.” Scotty said with tears in his eyes.

“I don’t think you guys are trying at all. It’s been years and she was able to find me get close to me faster than you guys. I need answers and I need them now.” Kenzie said in a calm voice.

“Kenzie, it hasn’t been easy on us either. We lost our children and our mates close together. We tried to do what was best for you. We are trying to figure out how she found out about you and we have a few leads that we are working on.” Dusty said with sadness in his voice.

Kenzie sat down at a table to think and try to figure things out. She didn’t know what to think and how to take it all in. She knew one thing for sure now. She needed to see where her parents grew up and where they were killed. That way she may get a sense of connection to her parents and maybe find out you leaked the information about where she was.

“I want to go to where my parents grew up and see what kind of life they had,” Kenzie spoke up

“We can go at some point when things calm down,” Adam said

“No, Adam I want to go now and I will be going. I need this to understand all of this.” Kenzie explained

“I think it would be good for her to see it and to help her in the long run,” Shasha said to Adam

“A few of us will stay here and run the cafe and keep things going here. While she is there finding out what she needs to help her with all of this.” Conner also replied.

Adam didn’t know what to say. He didn’t want to fight but he just didn’t think it was a good idea for here to be going right now. He just felt that it was better if they stand here for now until they could come up with a plan. He could see that there was no way he wasn’t going to win this and he just had to go with it.

“I understand that you need to go and do this. I may not like it, but we can go and do this.” Adam yielded to Kenzie on this.

“Well I am glad that you came to understand this, but I was going with or without you. No matter what I am going to see where my parents grew up and to understand this.” Kenzie took her stand and didn’t bind to anyone.

Everyone just stood there to watch them talk back and forth and wonder who would win the battle of the wills. Most knew Kenzie would win, but some wanted to see Adam give a good fight. They didn’t think it would be so quickly.
