"Oh, I can't bear to watch you go, Miss. Irene," Nanny May sniffed, putting the last luggage in my car. She took out her handkerchief and wiped her eyes. "I'll miss you and the kids so much."
Her eyes were leaking so fast, you'd think I told her we weren't coming back.
"May, we talked about this. It's only for a short while," I moved closer to pull her into a hug and she let me, holding me tight as she burst into tears. "Ah geez! May!"
"I can't help it, Miss. Irene. You've never been away in five years!" She said in her defense, then pulled away to cup my face with her leaking eyes. "Look after yourself, okay? Make sure to eat right and make sure the kids are okay. I packed their toys, favourite pillows and blankets-"
