"You've been quiet ever since you came back from your little outing."
I turned my head to my mother as she invited herself into my living room like she owns the place. She strode in with all that nosey aura oozing from her. I know she has a lot of questions.
"I didn't know I was being watched," I made to sit up but she put up a hand, telling me to remain in place while she sat on the other couch facing me.
"Come on, Karson. You're a grown man. Why should I watch you?" She narrowed her eyes. "I heard you stopped by the Mall--"
