I stepped away from Karson, his proposal still hanging in the air as I searched his face. He was serious... Oh Goddess! He was really serious. He wanted me to... No-No, this had to be a dream, a prank even.

This was for our kids' protection, I couldn't forget that. He was only doing this for the kids but I was still in shock. It just hit me but surprise, I didn't know what to say.
Why was I speechless all of a sudden? I had always said 'no' and tried to push him away whenever he tried to touch me or say things that could possibly mean him wanting me back.
Now that he threw the words out there, why wasn't I slamming him hard with a powerful 'no' that could send him flying to his Pack within a few seconds?
