I could tell he was angry. The heavy frown on his face and the way he clenched his jaw, my words had done more than my actions have. I hope he gets the memo now. Despite my deadpan stare into his eyes with my unwavering resolve, I gulp, feeling worried that he would take this up as a challenge.
He came all the way here to ask where I've been all these years. It's like he's not even trying to hide the fact that he's digging into me.
"If that'll be all," I step back, taking a deep breath. "I'll have to leave now. Have a safe drive back to your Pack, Alpha Karson and I hope this is the last of this."
He says nothing as I walk past him, letting out a quivering breath of relief. I'm glad this is over--
