Two days later, Barlo and the others left Lodariel behind. They gave her no information about where they were going, only telling her it was not to rescue Daroandir, which was the only reason Iarion managed to extract her promise to stay put in the shelter. As Barlo watched the mainland slip away from the deck of a Sea Elf ship, he couldn’t help but wish Lodariel could have come with them. She was a fierce warrior, and if they were going to defeat the kraken, they were going to need all the help they could get.
