Chapter Fourteen Breathing Space Iarion held off the last of the drakhalu as his companions stumbled ahead of him. Daylight glimmered in the distance. His eyes watered to see it after spending so much time in the darkness. The past few hours had been less harrowing than the rest of their time in the caverns, but they had been tiring nonetheless. After trapping the majority of the drakhalu with Feoras’s walls of ice, only a few isolated groups remained to harass Iarion and his companions as they tried to find the way out. Iarion was glad Barlo was with them. He couldn’t imagine trying to navigate the sprawling tunnels without him. “Come on,” he heard Barlo call back to him in a tired voice. “Those wretched creatures won’t follow us out here. You might as well leave them.” Iarion blinked
