Lexie’s P.O.V I kept re-reading the comment until it finally registered in my head. I still couldn’t believe my eyes. Despite the offer sounding amazing since my talent was being appreciated, it still sounded too good to be true. I bit my lip as my mind started racing with all kinds of thoughts. I felt like I was drowning in them until my eyes fell on my promise ring. I was happy with where I am, right? Probably it’s not the right time. I heaved a breath of relief and slowly shut my laptop cover, as I watch the comment disappear from my screen and the offer disappear from my grasp. I dragged my feet to my bed and crawled into the covers. I shut my eyes hard as I start thinking of nice thoughts and let them overpower all my meaningless overthinking thoughts. ***********
