A strong blinded light makes me whine pitifully, it hurts even though my eyes are closed. I know something is wrong when a strong throbbing pain pulsating at the back of my head. Sluggishly, I open my eyes and look around the place.
I was in a room and the blinding light got in through the cracked of the wooden window. It’s obviously owned to someone from how it was filled with personal things.
There was a big desk filled with 2 laptops, papers and documents scattered around the desk and on the floor, a small dining table at the other side of the room and at the far corner of the room was a small television, the old that used antenna while next to the bed was a closet and a door. A toilet perhaps.
I frowned as I took in the place, noticing it had some rugged touch to it, like a place that is built hurriedly, solely for survival instead of luxury. I seriously had no idea how I got to this place and the numb ache on my head is a mystery.
Did someone bashed my head and kidnapped me?
But I’m not tied up or drugged. I’m perfectly fine, except for my head. I decided to test my luck and walked towards the door praying it will open. It did not.
Something is definitely not right and I wanted to ponder on things but my head is getting heavier the longer I sat so against my better judgement, I lay down on the small pillow. I was a goner in less than seconds.
The next time I woke up, I could feel myself feeling well rested and that is how I know I had been sleeping longer than I should have. The room was lit with a dim light and when I turned my head to the side, another present greeted me.
It was a man. That much was clear from the broad outline of the figure. He sat on the desk in silent and even with the bad light I could sense him watching me, as if waiting what my next reaction would be.
Honestly, at other times I probably shouted or getting myself as far away from that man but I just got up from a long ass sleep so my brain still can’t function properly. So I sat there, staring back at him dumbly. After a while he spoke.
“How’s your head?” A firm voice resonated across the room. “You slept for a long time so I thought maybe you injured worse than I thought.”
There was a slight accent that I cannot quite catch. “Where am I?”
The man stood up and the sheer size of him make me gulped. He was a very big man. Tall, maybe 6’3 and I could see the muscles bulging at the right places and I wonder what are the odd if I decided to fight him. I mean, I might be tall for a girl at 5’7 but I’m like way too skinny. It would not be pretty for me if he got physical.
“You’re in my house.” He walked towards the dining table and I noticed some dishes laying around. “You’re mine now.”
I frowned, feeling flabbergasted at his random s**t. How dare he talked to me like that. “I belong to no one.”
He hummed, gesturing for me to sit at the table. I wanted to refuse him, to show that I am not going to tolerate him easily but I was hungry. I decided to play nice, for now.
“You’re in my home country and I have decided to make you as my woman.”
All the s**t coming out of his mouth flew passed me as my eyes caught the worn uniform hang lazily on the chair. I knew I had seen it somewhere before. It belongs to a rebellion party from the Southern Region, they called themselves as The Defenders of The Earth.
From what I knew, they claimed an island as their own and had managed to conquer several cities from the government. It’s a mystery as to how they managed to get their hands on weapons, some suspected they got some helps from someone inside the government but I cannot be sure. The truth are often twisted and bend by the said ministers of people.
I never paid that much attention to it anyway, thinking that my city would be the last place they would attack. It was hundred thousands of miles away from their domain and it is fairly small so I wonder how the hell I got myself here, in the middle of these terrorists.
“Why am I here?” I finally shifted my gaze towards him and the close distance between us allowed me to see his features better. Short sandy brown hair, light hazel eyes that appeared almost brown, a very muscular torso than what I originally thought and he had a firm look, a look that scream ‘I take no bullshit from anyone’.
“As I said, you’re mine now so you’ll be wherever I want you to be.”
I gritted my teeth at his bullshit, dying to scream on his face so he can get back to his senses but I know that would be foolish. But really, who the hell this man think he is? Taking people away and declaring that they own to him just like that. Son of a b***h.
“I wanna go home.”
He tilted his head, looking even more menacing. “There’s no more home for you, Jasmine Nicolai.”
My eyes widened at the mention of my name. He gestured towards the food before walking towards the bed. The moment his hands went to unfastened the belt, I look away.
Is this really happening to me? Am I really being kidnapped by the most ruthless and vicious terrorist in the whole world?
It doesn’t make any sense. I’m obviously not an heir to some rich conglomerates and I definitely had no ties to any royalties. So why me? What does he even want with me?
All of the thinking and the long ass hours I spent sleeping makes me starving so without much thought I dig in. I winced a bit at a foreign taste of the dishes. The food were a lot spicier and sweet than what I used to, but food is food.
I couldn’t managed to be picky now though the spicy foods are totally going to get back to me later. My stomach cannot handle spicy stuff that well.
After I had my fill I returned to the bed, back against the wall, hand rubbing my swollen tummy when he came out of the shower, with only a towel wrapped around his waist. I watched the little droplets dropped from his neck-length hair to his well-defined torso.
The dimmed light makes the tiny drops shines and I found myself hypnotized by that. He might be an asshole, but he is handsome. It’s almost like a rule now. All the hot guys just had to be the bad guys for some reason.
He dropped the towel without any care in the world and my eyes bulge at the sight of two rounded glob that is perhaps even bigger and rounder than my own.
The muscles on his cheek twitch as he bend and moved around, drying his body. He walked over to me after putting on some loose trousers, no shirt. Without invitation, he get into the bed, sighing the moment his body touched the hard mattress. The bed suddenly feel small and cramped.
I watched him warily as he turned to look at me. Maybe it was his position, or maybe the tiredness that raked his features but he doesn’t seem that dangerous anymore.
“Like I said, you’re mine now. You aren’t allowed to leave this room until I said so and no flirting with other guys. Most importantly, don’t try to run away. If you do, I swear you’ll regret it.”
I gritted my teeth and control my raging breath, I am itching to spit thousands of words to this bastard but I know it won’t do me any good. So I bite my lip hard, blinking rapidly as my eyes stung and watered. Moments later the waterfall start.
Who the hell does he think he is? Going around telling me what I can do and what I can’t? I was born as a free woman and I damn well intended to be a free woman for the rest of my life. I didn’t sign up for this, I don’t even know what I did to attract attention from this terrorist so why the hell am I here?
I wanted to run away but doing it blindly would be a dumb move so I decided to do the only thing I could. Sit there and do nothing, except formulating plans on how to fool this man who bragged I belong to him.
