A week before my engagement banquet, I traveled to a small southern city for a work trip. Then, outside a tiny corner café, I spotted Harold. He was a little thinner, a little more tanned than I remembered, leaning down to grab a picture book off a shelf for a small kid. He lifted his head, and our eyes locked straight away.
