A New Quest

Wenren Yu laid on a very small bed, the wooden frame supporting it was about ten inches tall, the mattress itself was 1.8m by 1.8m in dimensions, he was in a small room,the bed was situated opposite the window, sun rays fell into the room illuminating it, even though he was still in his lab coat, he felt no discomfort, he was thinking about what he was told the day earlier.

"Wenren Yu" Zhangsun Shan had began during the time he had paused time when they were about to enter Genferon Village.

Wenren Yu had looked at him, he was a young teenager of about 17 years old, he remembered when Zhangsun Shan was a kid; about five years older than him when they were kids, he greatly admired him seeing how he easily caused riots and was feared by most of the lower class citizens of the village, he was the first person to defeat Rui Hongchua(or Rui Xing).

In the past, Rui Xing was so strong to the extent that whenever he was about to be spoken of, defeat and his name were never used in the same sentence and yet, a small boy of age 10 about 4'5 had easily bested him together with the fellow members of the Taiyi sect who were in charge of taking care of the Village.

"Yes" Wenren Yu answers shakily.

"I see everyone as my subject but ever since that day you gave me ointments for my broken arm, I had labelled you as a friend and I still do" Zhangsun Shan begins with a straight face

"I see you are still think so lowly of yourself, you are far stronger that you think you are, just because you have no seemingly offensive capabilities, you hurriedly thought you were going to be useless in actual combat, why?"

"It's just the natural way of things, doctors are useless in the art of warfare, it's not our forte" Wenren Yu says angrily as he drops his face, tears dropping from his eyes

"I have always wanted to be like you, I saw the way you were feared in the village, you were even revered higher than the gods, you easily bested warriors and there was nothing you set your mind to that you didn't accomplish, what everyone felt was impossible, you would do it and yet the way you did it, you always did it and after you had done it, you would make a reaction like it was nothing special" Wenren Yu ends, tears falling from his face

"Forgive me for being a wimp, I know I am, I know you think I am, even my father who was a wimp and coward taught me a greater wimp and coward than he but I can't help it, it's who I am."

"No, that's not who you are" Zhangsun Shan says walking towards him, he still wore the same look of fierceness and voracity like he always did from when he was a kid, he taps his shoulder lightly as he maintains a stern eye gaze at him.

"Then who am I?" he asks wiping his tears from his face.

"You are who I say you are" Zhangsun Shan ends with his most haughty grin.

"I have heard you call me a wimp, isn't that who you think I am?"

"Yes, you are, there's no doubt about that, you are the perfect definition of the word, you are so wimpy even when you look into a mirror, you can't stand to look at yourself, nothing else can perfectly describe that word better than your life..." Zhangsun Shan begins, Wenren Yu's demeanor drops as he struggles his hardest not to cry but Zhangsun Shan continues

"...but you are also my friend, and it's the greatest honor that can ever befall anyone even the gods to be called friends by one such as dignified as I, earlier on, you mentioned that I did some accomplishments which were considered impossible but you are wrong, nothing is impossible, all it boils down to make anything happen is perseverance, commitment and willpower, I have seen that work over time in my favor since I was four years old, seeing people give up severally after trying a few times always made me aggravated, it's why I see everyone as negligible simpletons, those who give up on the things that matter to them are the worst scum on earth, if you care about someone or something, you should never back down on it no matter what."

Wenren Yu looked up at him, though Zhangsun Shan's expression remained unchanged, he could sense that the white haired warrior really cared about him.

"Wenren Yu, I believe in you, you are going to be a great force that even the gods will find impossible to reckon with, I can't teach you how to find your balls just like I didn't teach you how to breathe, you have to find it yourself and when you do..." Zhangsun Shan ends with a mild creepy chuckle

"...The only one who will be able to stand atop you is me."

The present;

Wenren Yu smiles as he remembers everything that Zhangsun Shan had told him yesterday, he was excited that the one he always looked up to from when he was a little kid really thought so highly of him but he had to stop thinking about that issue as some other things which had occurred, the green haired man they had met earlier on arrival to Genferon Village had shown them to the adventuring companies.

Unfortunately, the two companies were very strict about gender, as a result of that, only males could enter the guild ran by the woman and only the females could sign up to the guild ran by the man.

Normally, their party wouldn't have signed up but they were coerced into it as they figured out they will be in a series of competitions tomorrow.

To find out which was better, the male or female adventurers.

Zhangsun Shan felt competitions are of negligible values and since he saw himself as higher than a god he said he wasn't interested and left.

The two females on the other hands: Qui Si and Sui Wenyan wanted to show off in front of Zhangsun Shan as they saw that the first competition was a water fight, where the females had to wear bikinis and the males had to wear swimming trunks.

Wenren Yu on the other hand had signed up to the contest as he wanted to use this as means to impress his lifelong idol since he was a kid.

He believed he could after all, Zhangsun Shan believed in him, his father had never believed in him, his mother died while he was younger so he held on to what his idol had told him.

"Zhangsun Shan" Wenren Yu says as he raises his right arm up while still lying on the bed

"I won't disappoint you, I promise tomorrow I shall win the competition and make you even more proud of me."

It was the next day; the day of the competition, throughout the previous day, Qui Si and Sui Wenyan had gone around the town trying to purchase the sexiest swimming trunks, Wenren Yu after strengthening his will had began to do a few exercises.

Zhangsun Shan had walked into the forest surrounding that town, he was looking for the enemy boss of that city so he could quickly beat him and leave.

"Show off" Qui Si shouts and puts up a childish stance.

"Don't hate on me just cause you can't hope to match with me" Sui Wenyan says with a haughty grin as she moves over to Qui Si

"By the way, where's Zhang kun, he wasn't in his room last night and I haven't seen him since."

"Did you go to his room?" Qui Si asks red getting all over her cheeks.

"I obviously did" Sui Wenyan smiles at her

"According to a religion called Christianity, they are the first beings to walk on earth, I knew about that as I took part in a play when I was 14, I was tasked to play the role of Eve so I made lot of research towards that" Sui Wenyan ends with a smile

Just then, some holographic messages come up before her.

Sui Wenyan was amazed as she didn't understand why a message like that popped up, Wenren Yu suddenly appears beside them, even Qui Si too had an amazed look on her face.

"Did you guys see the level up notifications too?" Wenren Yu asks.

"Yes" Qui Si replies him, it was obvious this was her husband doing.

"Just where the hell is he."

Zhangsun Shan was walking along the forest, all he had seen were big wolves, they were ranging from level 14-16, Like the Liarm beasts, these ones also attacked in packs, Zhangsun Shan had felt it would be good for him if he could get a pet, so while trying to tame some, he would get screaming and begging for their lives until they couldn't take up the pain anymore and would finally die, he had killed about eighty wolves without even intending to level up.

"That's very disappointing" Zhangsun Shan frowns to himself, he could hear a strange sound coming from a hut, the voice of the sound obviously belonged to a little girl, possibly below thirteen as it sounded very childish and had no puberty developments.

These were the thoughts going through his head as he approached the site of the tears, he gets to a small hut about 11 feet tall, walking around, he finds a red haired girl who looked very childish as he had suspected standing beside a dead body of an older boy who strangely resembled her, the boy was naked and his genitals seemed to he missing from where it should be.

Even the girl's cloth was turn and by the squeezes on it, it was obvious she had been brought here to be manhandled possibly by the man who lay dead on the ground.

"There's no way you are the enemy boss, are you?" Zhangsun Shan asks as he puts his arm on the hilt of his katana, he looked for a bar around her but there was none, the same as the villagers, he could never find a bar on them, but there was something strange about her, she had a '!' directly on her forehead.

"No" she began as she points in the direction of the direction of the Genferon Village

"But the one who did this to my brother went there, will you find him for me and kill him."

A holographic message pops up;

They were in the site of the competition between the male and female adventurers.
