The Spar

2427 Words
Sui Wenyan kept her gaze at Zhangsun Shan, she looked innocent and young, she didn't look as old as his wife, Qui Si but yet she had these eyes which seemed to permeate through his very soul. Zhangsun Shan was amazed, for the first time in his life, he was lost for words, she had told him earlier she was pleased to make his acquaintance and all he could do was just stare at her, he hadn't said a single word since. Rui Hongcha who stood behind him laughed out heartily, it was quite amusing to see the most fearsome man in the entire world; Zhangsun Shan get all jelly in front of a woman. Qui Si too had an amazing look on her face, she was yet to recuperate from how someone had gotten beside her without her notice. "Child of the Si" Rui Hongcha grins as he looks over in Qui Si's direction "You might wanna cling to your husband more tightly." Zhangsun Shan bit his lower lip tightly, he was really losing his guard, he had to toughen up. Finding words to say, he finally spoke "Anyone ever told you that you have a face like an..." he begins but Immediately he shuts up. "How did I say that out loud, it was just supposed to be a thought, what is wrong with me, what is happening" Zhangsun Shan wails internally. "A very profound compliment, you must be very popular with the ladies though the kind of ladies that will fall for an old and unoriginal line such as that must surely be pitiful simpletons" Sui Wenyan begins "But in the line of work I do, I have heard quite a lot of lines and if I should rate what you said in consideration with the others I have seen, it wouldn't even be in the top 100 and I am being really nice." Zhangsun Shan looked at her, despite the fact that she had just insulted him, her face didn't appear to wear any smirk or grin, she was straight-faced as she had just dropped the truth without intending to be offensive "I didn't even finish my sentence," Zhangsun Shan says trying to keep his composure "You wouldn't want to hear the rest of it, would surely drive you to tears." "I believe the last line you said was mine," She says. Zhangsun Shan put a smile on his face, she was simply too much for him to handle, he might have found another person to watch out for but if he could make strong ties with her, she would be a useful comrade. "Lectures begin now" Zhangsun Shan smiles at her "I heard you can use Krigo, we shall have a little spar, it will give me a proper assessment of your abilities." "Isn't the stealth technique I used earlier on enough to prove my worth?" she asks. "Stealth isn't the only thing that's important in battle, resourcefulness, and planning ahead are the most significant, before every battle, victory is already decided," Zhangsun Shan says with a straight face "That's why I am so sure your linen wouldn't be leaving this spar with the same color." Sui Wenyan smiles heartily at his joke, it was the first time Zhangsun Shan had seen her smile and she really looked attractive. "Well, if you two are going to fight, how about I take you away from here, you wouldn't want to ruin the entire village" Rui Hongcha grins as he taps his sword lightly on the ground, the air around the four of them become denser, their bodies faded away, soon, they reappear in the center of the forest which surrounded Kraido Village. "An instantaneous means of transport, just what are the perks of a player," Zhangsun Shan asks, he was quite amazed, he hadn't seen anything like this, Qui Si too appeared shocked, Sui Wenyan on the other hand had a nonchalant expression, she had seen it happen severally so it was nothing new or special. "Don't forget the deal" Rui Hongcha smiles at him Just them, a pack of Liarm beasts approached from the forest around and dash towards the position where the four of them were. "Martial arts style: volley of arrows," Sui Wenyan says aloud, as she said that, arrows fell from the sky and struck each of the Liarm beasts causing them to collapse to their deaths. Zhangsun Shan was amazed, he was the only one who had learned to use that Krigo technique single-handedly, usually when others used it, it was usually in groups of threes to fives as it tasked a lot of spiritual energy. A Liarm beast is the one which was described earlier on; the one which ate Zhangsun Shan's mother. "Martial arts style: lightning arrow," Sui Wenyan says aloud as she looks in Zhangsun Shan's direction, an arrow embedded in lightening flies towards Zhangsun Shan's forehead, he bends down quickly causing it to hit a Liarm beast which was directly behind. "Didn't know we started" Zhangsun Shan grins as he unsheathes his sword. "Isn't that what your darling wife says every time you are done f*****g" Sui Wenyan tells him as she removes two small hand fans from her waist. Zhangsun Shan's face wore annoyance, he had never met a female like this. "Brace yourself" he growls as he mutters a few words, his body immediately envelops with light, he dashes at Sui Wenyan and slashes his sword at her but as it makes contact with her, the blade just went through like there was nothing there, it was a mere illusion. "Finally, I have you where I need you, you easily respond well to taunts" he heard her voice behind him "Martial arts style: meteor shower." "That was impossible, even that technique is hard for me to expel, how is she doing it so easily," Zhangsun Shan thinks to himself as he runs away from where he was, giant rocks began to fall from the sky towards the white-haired warrior's direction, Zhangsun Shan ran as hastily as he could dodging the falling meteors but he took all he could just to escape the wave. Just as the wave ended, Sui Wenyan suddenly appeared in front of him, swinging fast with the fans in her hands, she hits him before he could comprehend what was happening knocking him backward. "Martial arts style: baby wind," she says aloud as a small amount of wind escapes her weapon and hits Zhangsun Shan knocking him backward, she dashes towards him. "Martial arts style: dancing scythe," she says as she begins to twirl her body hitting Zhangsun Shan repeatedly and causing him to bleed. When she could see that Zhangsun Shan was injured and most of his bones were obviously broken, she smiles lightly to herself; this win was surely hers. Grabbing and raising him by his neck "Martial arts style: Dragons breath," she says as she breathes fire into Zhangsun Shan's face burning it to crisp. His head was completely gone except for his neck and body were still intact, she drops him as she begins to breathe heavily, she had really exerted so much energy in this fight. She feels the tip of a blade at the back of her neck poking her lightly, if any more force was inputted, it would spell the end for her dear life. "Number one rule" she heard a deep masculine voice say; it belonged to Zhangsun Shan "Never lose guard while still on the battlefield, even if it appears as if you have completely won," Zhangsun Shan says still pointing his weapon to the back of her head. "How did you..." Sui Wenyan asks clearly amazed. "You started the battle with one of the most OP Area of effect Krigo technique; volley of arrows, that will surely consume a massive amount of energy and then you kept on using techniques that would task serious energy, I seeing that decided to take advantage and I came up with a new technique on the spot" Zhangsun Shan has a mild grin on his face "I call it useless dummy, what it does is create a perfect replica of myself but it's totally useless as all it does is take damage, I was initially the one fighting you from the beginning, I pretended to look tired while dodging the meteor shower so that would make you think you could close in, you were an actress, it's natural you notice body signs and gestures, you must have seen that as a strength but I made you realize all strength is weakness before me, so when you closed in and started to attack me, I had simply activated that technique and gone on stealth arc 1, watching you fight while I was far away from you, I was tempted to go and get a suya stick" Zhangsun Shan ends with a mild grin as he continues "From all I have said, I suggest you stay calm and act pragmatic, never jump at any immediate opportunity to finish an enemy as it might be a trap to lure you in and also, try and conserve as much energy as you can, don't just expend energy extravagantly in every battle, it won't turn out well for you in the end" Zhangsun Shan ends as he puffs out some smoke from the pipe which was in his mouth, he retracts his weapon towards his side. "You really are as good as Rui Hongcha said you were," Sui Wenyan says smiling as she slowly turns around "I can't wait to be your student" she jumps excitedly like a girl who had just achieved her utmost desire. Rui Hongcha came, beside him was a black-haired man about 5'8, he wore glasses and was dressed in a long white robe with the plus signs in red color at its center; it was an attire specifically for the doctors "Wait, so no one is getting injured," Rui Hongcha says aloud his face all bummed out "And I already brought the finest doctor in the central plains, why is this happening, you guys should injure yourselves now, or do you want me to come and do that for you." Qui Si and Sui Wenyan shoot Rui Hongcha a disappointed look, Zhangsun Shan just laughed lightly as he sheathes his weapon, looking over at the other man who came with Rui Hongcha. "Who is that?" Zhangsun Shan asks. "You don't remember" Rui Hongcha grins mildly "He was the last face you saw before you left this city." Zhangsun Shan had a puzzled look on his face, how was Rui Hongcha aware of the people he saw when he was about to leave the city, it happened about twelve years ago and though he couldn't remember it vividly, he was sure Rui Hongcha wasn't amongst. It was then that Zhangsun Shan realized something when he entered the village, he hadn't received a grand welcome regarding the fact that he was the nation's finest warrior or hate because of all the horrible things he did to the village while he was a kid, instead, he was just ignored like he was completely irrelevant. "The long pause you took means you finally figured it out" Rui Hongcha grins at him "Another perk my weapon gives me is a memory read and rewrite, I used it on the villagers so I could put away the ridicule that you brought upon me, I viewed all the memories of everyone in the village and wiped those that I deemed inappropriate, the reason why I still ensured the soldiers learned Krigo was to prevent another truant like you from arising." "That explains a lot" Zhangsun Shan frowns. "So I was able to see how you left the city from Wenren Yu's mind, his father who tended to you died of a heart disease about three years after you had left," Rui Hongcha says "His son is about 14 now." "Ac...ac... actually I...I a...am seven...seven... seventeen" Wenren Yu says still bowing his head, he was fidgeting. "Once a wimp, always a wimp" Zhangsun Shan says aloud but his wife quickly gives him a nudge which sets him straight. "He was popular in the central plains for healing various infirmities before later coming back to his village to heal all the sick here, at the moment, he is a disciple of the Taiyi sect, the same as the three of you" Rui Hongcha grins. "Yaaay," Zhangsun Shan says sarcastically as he adopts a more serious facial expression "The ability you used to bring us here, ability to read and twist minds to your will are perks of the weapon you hold which are only available to players, you have to tell me everything..." While Zhangsun Shan was yet speaking, a small figure completely shrouded in darkness about 4 feet tall dashes at him, it moved so fast that even Zhangsun Shan didn't even notice it, no one else did except Rui Hongcha who stretched his sword and drove it deep into it's chest causing it to fade away. Rui Hongcha's facial expression becomes that of worry as he looked behind him where he was sure the creature came from. Standing ahead of him about fifty meters away was a tall creature with horns sticking from where was supposed to be his ears, he had red eyes which incited fear, the creature was nearly eight feet tall, it appeared to be wearing some sort of grey armor but had black aura emanating from it, he was accompanied by thousands of minions who were spreading it and were killing the villagers, the villagers who witnessed the deaths were amazed as they saw their fellow men and women die but they couldn't see what killed them. Everyone was completely unaware of what was happening except Rui Hongcha. "Rui Hongcha," the tall scary creature says aloud with a voice so loud it began to cause shockwaves around, leveling all the buildings around to mere dust, as he opened his mouth, his vampire-like fangs could easily be spotted, at the far end of his mouth looked so dark and black as the abyss "It's been a while, just dropped by after I killed your brother, he was planning to come after the Taiyi sect to capture Zhangsun Shan, you two are the greatest cowards I have ever met, I should never have put you in my system, well, I shall rectify this mistake by completely eradicating you and everything in this world." "Ooh no," Rui Hongcha frowned.
