CHAPTER 3

THE SHIFT

THIRD PERSONS POV.

After the cutting of the cake and presents were opened, the boys headed to their rooms to take a nap.

Still being unable to shake the feeling that the woods are calling and their body keeps heating more and more and the pain they're feeling is increasing more and more.

Waking up after a nap the pain it’s almost unbearable and they are so heated to the point that they merely want to get out of the house. Getting up like they possess no control over their body they start moving out of their rooms dressed in only boxer's bear chested only to meet up in the hallway.

LEVI & MARS POV.

Levi what you doing Mars urges his brother as soon as he gets out of his bedroom to instantly see his brother already in the hall with a surprised look on his face. Levi looks at his brother one eyebrow elevated smirking at his brother, I’m going out back my room is way too hot I need to cool down some. Sweat on his brow looking over at his brother seeing he is in a similar state as him. Smirking at his brother He naturally asks, guesses you have a similar idea I have if the profuse sweat on your brow is anything for me to go on. Mars scratches the back of his neck with a faint smile and nods at his brother. The brothers instantly make their way down the stairs throw the house and kitchen and out of the back door sitting down on the steps at the end of the deck.

Neither one talking merely focusing on the woods beyond the back yard fence. That's when Levi turns to his brother solely looking at him for some time before he speaks. Hey, bro wants to go check it out cause I for one can’t ignore it any longer it’s like I have to everything inside me is pulling me there to the woods, he says nodding his head in the direction of the woods. Without looking at Levi, Mars just nods knowing full well what Levi means for he undoubtedly has the same nagging feeling as his brother. They get up without bothering to go get dressed they make their deliberate way to the back fence following this weird instinct they have to see where it will steer them.

Carefully looking over the fence Mars informs Levi how about we just take a walk till at the clearing if we don't see anything we come back and forget the whole thing and see if we can get some more sleep. Levi indicates his mutual agreement to his brother not sure if this is a clever idea, but this pull inside is all he has his inquisitive mind on. Levi promptly asks Mars if he is ready Mars nods and they make their way over the fence jumping down on the other side.

BETA MACK POV

Meanwhile...

Beta Mack, Delta Drico, and the warriors they and came with have already made their efficient way to the woods at the back of where they know their Future Kings live. He looks over at Delta Drico with a satisfied smile on his lips, Delta Drico if we retain all the facts in order the boys will be making their way here as this is the closest forest area to where they live the spell that their mother had the witch cast on the Future Kings when they were toddlers in clued that they will seek a wooded area to keep the eyes of any humans away from their first shift and so it will make it easier to find them on the night after their birthday. The Delta nods recalling everything that happened precisely the year that the divine twins turned three. Beta Mack adequately addresses the warriors that they should spread out and let him know as soon as they spot the boys entering the local woods.

MARS & LEVI POV.

Mars and Levi make the way into the local woods it has long gone dark and in the wooded area, it’s gloomier just the moon as the only light to shine in between the trees. Walking in absolute silence they make their way to the grassy clearing they remember from when they were young boys playing in the woods before their parents put the fence up to keep them out of the woods. Levi kept looking around feeling like they are being watched, he whispers tenderly inform his brother after some time, I have the feeling like we being watched by someone with a concerned look on his face almost tripping on a log in front of him. Mars starts looking around if he can see anyone but sees no-one looking at his brother he merely shrugs his shoulders as in telling his brother that he sees no one lurking around. Little do they know that about seven wolves are watching there every step waiting on them to start the shift so that they can help them through what they are about to go throw. As they get to the clearing, they look around trying to think what it could be that was that has them walking in the woods at night.

Mars looks over at his brother eagerly trying to see if Lee observes something that he has missed then he voiced his thoughts to his brother and Levi tell him, I do not see anything it goes above me why we here, and yet this crazy feeling have not passed yet he tells Mars with a very confused look on his face. As they were about to turn and head home both of them start feeling their body ace with such intense pain that they can’t help but fall breathes heavy.

Beta Mack makes his way out of the luminous shadows once he notes the boys first hit of pain came over them making his way over to where the boys are laying and twisting in pain. As they approach the boys, they both look at them afraid of the men surrounding them. Beta Mack bends over telling them, I’m not here to intentionally harm you I know you very much in pain right now I’m going to assist you through it as much as I can. You will undoubtedly see things tonight that can’t be explained for you most likely would not have believed if what you are going through now was not happening. I promise to explain everything but for now, do as I say and you won’t feel as much pain. I can’t promise there will be no pain all I can do is help you make it easier. Do you understand me he asks the boys and both nod even thou they are unsure that these men can be trusted?

Okay, Beta Mack says. Now take slow deep breaths in with the nose and slowly out your mouths you will feel like every single bone in your body is braking and I’m grieved but you will just have to bear it. I promise faithfully it will get better over time, good just keep breathing and when you feel the bones crack don't fight just allow it happen if you fight the change it will drag it out longer and more painful than it is. That's excellent to keep breathing like that.

The boys feel like every bone in their body is breaking and reshaping. First there back cracks and elongate their hind legs, reshape and arms their ears and nose the pain was intense to the extreme they have never felt so much pain in their lives. After their shift, two black wolves with the royal emblem stand in-front of Beta Mack. The boys look down at their feet and observe their paws and when they try to speak they only growl or wimpier.

That's when Beta Mack finally spoke up again. You are werewolf's I know this is beyond everything you could have ever imagined but what you see is what you are I’ll tell you more later on.

That's when the second oddest thing happens to the boys they instantly heard someone speak carefully to them in their heads.
