A quick preliminary search of the studio gave them no clues as to who the killer might be. Fuller expected this but the lack of progress on the case still disappointed him. Gardner didn’t seem bothered either way and Fuller wondered if he cared about the case at all. Cops tended to make the killing of their peers personal. Fuller wondered why his partner didn’t. “So,” Gardner said as they left the room, “how do you plan on questioning them?
