Simone wanted nothing more than to smack the living crap out of Shane. Since he left her room, she found herself torn about his request, not knowing what she should do. Of course, she wanted to do everything she could to help Becky and Emma. That went without saying. But would finishing the demon’s song accomplish that goal? It was a question they wouldn’t be able to answer without doing it and she wasn’t sure if the cost was worth the risk.
Once Shane had left, she laid back in bed, still exhausted and wanting to sleep to avoid having to make any decisions. Of course, sleep came with its problems. The dreams had become more intense. More insistent. Amdusias was getting impatient. But of course, who wouldn’t be after waiting two decades?
So, not being able to sleep was a mixed blessing.
