Nightmare

Point of View: Tyler Baile “Oh you are a vampire, nice to meet you guys.” She said as she laid the books on the desk.   “How did you know?” Anastasia asked.  “It is obvious Anastasia the vampires and werewolves give off a stench,” I commented.   “Yes they do Tyler but Fairies can’t smell, we see auras,” Evelyn said as she jumped onto her bed, “it is such a blessing too. You can tell so much from an aura like if someone is troubled, kind or mean, and their species. Though if you are like me a youngling it’s harder to see auras, but I am getting better at it.”   “Cool what’s Anastasia’s aura?” I asked setting down my files.   “Okay I love doing this,” Evelyn said with a smile before staring at the air around Anastasia, “your body is a sickly red which stands for vampire, the air around you extremely colorful. The royal blue tells me that you are trustworthy and honorable the red spouts tell me you were in love once and still love that man and the orange tells me you are nervous and anxious. I can tell that white line just above your head tells me you are thinking intensely judging on its thickness,” Evelyn said with a smile.   “Damn you are good,” I whispered out as she hit every marker I suspected.   “Okay now you,” Evelyn said as she turned to me. As she watched me I couldn’t help but watch her. Fairies are fascinating or at least I thought they were. Evelyn had black hair with purple and blue hair, her eyes were purple and her wings were like a butterfly’s but they looked small on her. Evelyn was tan but there a tin of purple in her skin.   “That is strange,” Evelyn said breaking my train of thought.   “What?” Anastasia asked.   “I can’t tell what species you are.”  “I am a witch,” I said.   “Yes, yes I can tell that your body is half yellow but the other half is a black void. I’ve never seen black on species. In the air black means secret, someone is hiding the fact you are some kind of hybrid. I don’t know why hybrids are common now days,” Evelyn shrugged and looked back to the air, “you are some character Tyler.” Evelyn’s eyes went wide and darted around in the air. “In must auras you see four to six colors at a time however you have nine. I see olive green which means you are gentle, I see large spots of grey which mean missing pieces,” Evelyn said as she looked at them  “I have amnesia, I can’t remember my childhood.”  “Oh I see, well there is a deep purple which means you are courageous, royal blue so honorable, then there is pink which means you are lusting for someone, oh and well I haven’t seen this one in a long time, gold glitter so you are gay?” Evelyn asked looking to me.   “Yeah you gotta problem?” I asked as I bobbed my head at her.   “Nah my cousins are. The last two melt into each other red which means you are strong and bold and then yellow loving and homey when the two become one it means a number of things but it basically means you have a great destiny.”   “Whoa that’s sounds way better than I feel half the time,” I announced sitting back in my chair.  “Well she was right a lot about the aspects of your personality. The part about lusting I am not so sure,” Anastasia said lying down on her bed.   “She’s right about that one; hello Jason Statham is going to be mine one day.” I said as I grabbed the other file.   “What are you guys doing with student and teacher files?” Evelyn asked as she picked up Clayton’s.  “I am on the patrol squad and I’m Tyler’s body guard. Here are our files if you want to look at them,” Anastasia handed our files to Evelyn.   She opened mine first. “Holy s**t! You killed 89 magical creatures in nine months?”  “None of them were fairies if that is what you are wondering,” I said as I looked up at her. “It was not my choice to kill them I did give them all the chance to walk away.”  “How come you are not in jail, they charged you with treason and terrorism not to mention you, wait why do you have a body guard,” Evelyn paused and dismissed the thought with the shake of her head, “mass murder and a s**t ton of attempts.” Evelyn was freaking out.  “Evie calm down,” Anastasia said not even looking up from the file she was reading. “Look at Tyler’s aura did you see serial killer or terrorist in it?”  “Well no,” Evelyn said quietly.  “There you go you have nothing to fear. I’m protecting him because bad men were and probably still are after him.” Evelyn just nodded and sat on her bed and continued to read. I smirked and put the Justin Mass file on Anastasia’s bed.   “It’s is the wrong Justin. The Justin I talked to is like 6’2 could probably bench two twenty and is a brunette with honey colored eyes oh and a werewolf,” I said to Anastasia.   “How did you know this Justin is a werewolf?” she asked me.   “I met him on my jog, he was in wolf form and I healed him and then he changed back and told me his name was Justin,” I said defensively.   Anastasia rolled her eyes and over to her desk were stacks of other files rested and pulled out one. She opened it and pulled out a photo and showed it to me asking, “Is this him?”  “Yea that’s him!” I exclaimed.  “Well aren’t you in for a shock,” Anastasia smiled.   “Oh Ana don’t ruin Tyler’s fun after all that’s who Tyler is lusting,” Evelyn said.  “Evie!” I scolded  “What I can’t help it your aura flashed pink like crazy,” Evelyn said with a smile.   “Well he is also a professor,” Anastasia said grabbing the very thick file.  “You mean you saw Professor Thyro naked and in wolf? Tell me he is big and sexy naked,” Evelyn squealed.  “Well okay,” I turned to Evelyn, “he is big and sexy naked. Happy cause I said it word for word.” I smiled at her as I opened the file.   “No but really what does he look like as a wolf?”   “For one he could use a haircut. His fur is as dark a starless night sky and as soft as a raven’s wing. His bark is low and threatening and his body is solid muscle. As for his human form he was tall and glistened with sweat. His pectorals stood out proudly demanding attention and his chest hair was short and soaked in sweat. Justin’s abdomen was rippling with just as much muscle as the rest of his body,” I said as left out how long I stared at his package.   “Oh hot damn, my music teacher is a dream,” Evelyn said as she lay on her back and fanned herself.  “Doesn’t that hurt your wings?” I asked curiously.  “No, and yes they can lift me as far as 50 miles.” Evelyn said sitting up showing off her wings.   “Well girls I am heading down to meet my roommate so I will talk with you guys later,” I said standing up.  “You want to sit with me and my friends at lunch Ty?” Evelyn asked before I left the room.  “Sure Evie, I’d like that see you guys,” I said as I walked out and closing the door behind me. I smiled to myself as I walked down the hall. I reached the stairs and stopped and looked over my shoulder to see a bunch of witches and werewolf girls looking at me as I go. I was about to leave them when I thought I should let them know, “Ladies I am going to make an ass of myself so deal with it, I am gay.” With that they all nodded and skulked back into their rooms. I shook my head and laughed as I went down to my room.  I walked down my hall to see a bunch of cute guys walking in and out of rooms. Hmmm maybe I should have looked at the files of all male students. I smiled and walked down to my room to find the door wide open with a bunch of guys not only in my room but on my bed and in my wardrobe. “Can I help you?” I asked leaning on the door frame. The one in my wardrobe stopped and looked to me with a sheepish smile and a guilty look. “That’s what I thought,” I said walking over to it and closing the door.   “Somebody sure has a holier than thou attitude,” One with a southern accent said as he laid on my bed reading my journal entries. I snatched the book out of his hands.  “With good reasons too,” I added as I death glared him, “Clayton, tell your friends to keep their paws off my belongings and I won’t snap yours and their necks.”   “Sure thing roomie,” Clayton said from his bed as he looked at me with a questionable look.   “Come on Clay you really going to take orders from the newbie?”   “Donavan, chill out,” Clayton said.  “Wuss,” He muttered.   “What was that mother trucker?” Their squabbling was really annoying and I just wanted some peace and quiet and read Justin’s file. I don’t even remember smacking my fist on the desk, but I did and it was hard enough to splinter it.   “If you two are done,” I barked as the air crackled, “I would like to have my bed and some quiet!” Clayton and Donavan stopped talking and looked at me with looks of fear and confusion where the third guy just ran like a little girl.   “Dude calm down okay I’m heading out. See you later Clay I’m going to go check on Derek.” Donavan said in his southern drawl slowly getting up and walking cautiously around me and my death glare.   “Yeah no problem see you third hour man,” Clayton said as his eyes never left mine. When the door closed I breathed in deeply and shook my shoulders before setting the file on the desk. I walked over to my bed and fixed the sheets and put the pillows back into their place.   “Sorry you had to see me like that, Clayton. I’m can normally control my temper better than that,” I said turning to him.   “Yeah it is okay. Don kinda brings the worst out of people,” Clayton joked.   “I’m Tyler Baile,” I said stretching my hand out to him.   “Tyler?” He asked as he stared into my eyes and shook my hand.  “Yeah that’s me, not to be an ass but I have to read this so could I have a little bit of quiet?” I asked him as I walked back to the file.  “No problem man I was bout to head out and talk to my friend about some things,” He said getting up and walking out abruptly.   “Okay awkward,” I said to myself as I sat down on the bed Indian style. I opened the file and looked at Justin’s picture for several moments. Okay so maybe Evelyn was right, I am so lusting for him. So what, how many other people do? It is just a stupid crush and it will pass. I took out Justin’s photo and placed it on my bedside table and looked back into the file. I slammed it shut and shook my head. “I can’t this is personal. Yet, I read Clayton’s…but that was to see if he was a murderer. I have no reason to look at this,” I said as I grabbed the photo and placed it back in the file.   I got up off the bed and paced the floor. “Should I read it? No Tyler you wouldn’t want anyone else to read your file. I just want to know who I am crushing on. Then you should do it in person!” I said with a smile, “but you can’t look at him without blushing. I mean for Christ sake you saw the man completely naked!” I sat on the edge of the bed with my head in my hands. I lifted my head and looked at the file by my pillows and flopped onto my back with a sigh of frustration. I lolled my head to the side and stared at the stupid file. I sighed and closed my eyes, when I opened them again I looked beyond the file and to the alarm clock. “8:26 pm, great better shower up,” I muttered as I pulled out some towel Anastasia and I took from some hotel up in Chicago. I grabbed my shampoo and conditioner and walked to the end of the hall where the showers for the boys. Don’t get me started on that awful excuse for a bathroom.   After my horrible adventure into the showers I happily sealed myself in my room to change into my pajamas. I grabbed my jeans from earlier and jumped into those leaving them unbutton. I lay on my bed even though my hair was still slick with some water. I crawled under my covers and blankets and let myself drift to sleep peacefully. Then the dreams came again…  “Remember…Remember Tyler,” The whisper crawled over my skin, raising goose bumps.   “Remember what? My species or my family?” I asked the whisper as I struggled to understand.   “Remember what he did!”  “Who?”  “REMEMBER!”  “WHO!” I screamed.   “Remember him,” The whisper faded out.  “Wait don’t go,” I said missing the voice as it left me. I got up and walked carefully out feeling for the edge of the abyss. I let out a sigh of relief when I felt the crumbling edge. I peered into the abyss and saw the same flickering light as I did before. “I am seriously going to regret this,” I whispered just before jumping in. I waited for the same images to appear on the screen but they never came. I reached the bottom and hurried to the candle.   “Hello Hugo,” I said sternly.   “So my munchkin returns,” He said with a terrible smile.   “So are you haunting me in my dreams?” I said as fear and panic scorched my throat. Hugo smiled and lunged once again. I screamed as I ducked out of his way. His hand snaked out and he dug his nails into my flesh. I whimpered as his touch seared me and drew blood. “Stop it,” I whimpered out as the fear started to take control of me.   “Not a chance!”   “I said let go of me!” I yelled at him. I yanked my arm away and his nails drew bloody lines the length of my fore arm. I screamed in horrific pain as I ran clutching my arm.  “Get back here!”   “Anastasia,” I cried out as I staggered away from Hugo. I looked over my shoulder ready to see Hugo loom over me like the angel of death but he wasn’t there. I sighed and looked ahead of me and screamed as Hugo lunged at me. I hit the ground hard scraping my hands on the sharp rocks. Hugo’s hands traveled up my body leaving hand prints branded into my flesh as I struggled to break free.   Splash!  “Jesus Christ, Tyler wake up!” Clayton voice said in the pitch black room.   “Huh!” I said as I fumbled for the bedside lamp switch. I touched the table and winced in pain.   “Norta,” Clayton said and the room was filled with light from his wand.   “What happened?” I asked as sat up in the wet bed.  “You were having some serious nightmare! You were tossing and turning not to mention moaning and screaming. I thought somebody was trying to kill you.” Clayton’s voice stopped once I held out my hands.   “Oh my god,” I said as I looked at my bloody hands and forearm.   “What the hell,” Clayton whispered. We both jumped when a knock from the door.  “Who is it?” I asked.  “Ty it is me, Anastasia.”  “Open it Clay please,” I whispered. Clayton nodded and opened the door a crack and looked at Anastasia.   “What do you want?”   “I heard Tyler call for me…” Anastasia stopped talking and sniffed the air, “oh my God is he bleeding?” Anastasia pushed the door open just enough to get in and with vampire speed was on my bed hold my hands and inspecting the wounds.   “He was having nightmares and he did that in his sleep,” Clayton said surprised that she was got in so quickly.   “I didn’t do it, he did,” I said as I stared off into space.   “No I didn’t.”  “Not you Clay, Hugo he’s haunting my dreams now that we’ve been found,” I said to Anastasia.  “That is nonsense Ty, I killed him and there is no such things as ghosts.”  “Then why do I dream of him? I lost my memory after I met him. It wasn’t until the day Cyrus caught us that he has been in my dreams,” I told her as tears fell down my cheeks.   “I think you are just trying to remember your life and maybe being around Cyrus and the Council has sparked something,” Anastasia said smoothing out my hair.   “You are probably going to suffer from night terrors if you your body keeps trying to remember, I can prevent the night terrors but it might affect the rate at which you remember stuff,” Clayton said trying to be helpful.  “Anything would be prefect right now,” I said looking at the alarm clock. Clayton grabbed my temples and closed his eyes and I soon felt warmth radiating in my head. “Thanks, Anastasia can you take care of the blood,” I asked as I held out my hands to her.   “Sure,” Anastasia brought my bloody hands to her lips and drank the blood before licked the wounds.  “That is seriously nasty man,” Clayton chocked out.  “Vampire spit closes wounds,” I said matter of factly. Anastasia moved her lips down my forearms and the claw marks sealed and faded to small pink marks.  “Tyler, try and sleep well okay you’ve got two hours until we start class,” Anastasia said as she got up from the bed. “And you may want to use your wand to dry the sheets.”  “Yeah why is my bed wet and Ian said I would get my wand back in First Hour,” I said.  “That was me, I was trying to wake you but you are a heavy sleeper.” Clayton said.   “That’s for sure one time I had to b***h slap him awake,” Anastasia laughed out. Clayton chuckled with her before getting his wand out.  “Sontana,” Clayton’s wand lit up and my bed heated up and was soon warm and dry.  “Thanks now get some sleep guys, thanks for coming,” I yawned as I lay back on my pillows. I heard them say goodnight and Clayton turned off his wand and I went to sleep and the dreams stayed away.
