Point of View:
Tyler Baile
“No no it’s happening,” I said as I shook my head as I watch Anastasia fight off the mist. “Evie get out of here like now!” I yelled.
“Why?”
“Just do it before you and I die!” I screamed pushing her out of the way.
“Anastasia?” Evelyn asked. We turned to her and saw I nearly puked. Her skin was ashy white, her irises were missing, and she carried a wicked blade.
“RUN!” Clayton cried out as she started to inch her way toward me.
“Clayton finish the chant and set the Pimelea on fire,” I said as I pulled out my wand. “Evie get out of here and take cover.” I said as I stared down Anastasia. Evelyn took off in a dead sprint and jumped into flight. Anastasia roared like a wild beast as she watched her go.
“Lucarium!” Anastasia’s head swiveled around and caught my spell and curved its course. I jumped aside as the blue lightning strike came at my head. “Insactum!” I pointed at her. “Faulom! Igsina! Bogsna!” She jumped and dodged every spell. I punched the ground and sent a seismic wave at her. She fell to the ground and roared.
“Hurry up and destroy the damn thing!”
“He’s trying!” Evelyn snapped at me. I rolled my eyes as I drew my sword and charged at Anastasia. My sword clashed against her blade and it began a game of strength. Anastasia pushed my own blade to my throat and I nearly cried as I felt it cut my skin.
“Sika!” Anastasia was sent off onto the lake’s riverbank. I rubbed my throat and turned and saw Evelyn stranding poised with her hands still glittering from the spell.
“Thanks,” I sighed out.
“Is she down?” Clayton asked as I stood up and brushed myself off.
“Maybe but you should finish that…”
“Tyler!” Evelyn screamed as my own sword poke out of my chest.
“Anastasia!” I screamed as I fell to my knees. I looked over to Clayton and he had just dropped the match onto the Pimelea and it went up in flames. I smiled and fell on my side. I closed my eyes and then opened them and lived the vision. I was on the ground struggling for air and I could smell something burning.
“Tyler are you alright? Do you understand what I am saying?” Evelyn asked as her face flashed in my mind. I tried to respond but instead a gurgling sound came out with the taste of blood.
“Clayton I need help!” She screamed as she put a large amount of pressure on my chest. I jerked in pain and tried to tell her no but the words were lost in the gushes of blood that seemed to erupt out of me with every passing second. “Clayton we’re losing him! My spells aren’t working!”
“I’m coming!” Clayton sounded a thousand miles away and things slowed down greatly. Then just as time slowed all the sound in the world became quieter and muffled. “Tyler?” Clayton asked me as I blinked slowly, “no I’m not losing you again!”
“What’s going on?” Anastasia’s voice asked.
“How could you do this to him? He is just a boy!” Clayton roared at her as he moved aside for her to see.
“What the H E double hockey sticks!” She yelled.
“I thought the potions protect you from the death that the Pimelea could give you.” Evelyn said looking up at Clayton.
“It does, Tyler gave his to Anastasia.”
“You told me he took his already!” Anastasia said rising to her feet.
“He told me to lie for him so he could protect you!” He said poking her in the chest.
“Stop,” I choked out as blood dribbled out of the corner of my mouth. They all looked down to me.
“The lake!” Anastasia yelled as she sprinted for it.
“The potion is still in it!” Evelyn said as tears flowed down her face.
“Move please,” Anastasia said as she poured some of the potion onto the wound. “Here drink the rest sweetie,” She said nursing the flask to my lips. I closed my eyes as the liquid instantly went to work.
“He is going to be fine! Thank you, God. Tyler if you ever…” Clayton slurred and grabbed his temples as fell to the ground and Evelyn followed suit.
“Oh no,” Anastasia said going to Clayton’s side.
“It’s okay,” I coughed out as I sat up. “Their memories are coming back all at once, they will probs be out for the rest of the night.”
“So they’ll remember their lives outside of school just like that?”
“Yeah but it is a painful experience,” I said picking up Evelyn. I smiled as she muttered the name Liam. Anastasia picked up Clayton but he didn’t stir. Anastasia and I tucked our friends into bed and waited for them wake up. Evelyn took over my bed and Clayton stayed in his as we watched them all night. It must have been around seven the next morning when Evelyn woke up screaming Liam.
“Whoa,” She said clutching her head, “what a rush, but my parents. God damn animals!” Evelyn said breaking the bedside lamp.
“Jesus Evie,” I said looking at her. “You swore and broke my favorite lamp.” I joked with her.
“They framed me, for his death.” She said on the brink of tears.
“What?” Anastasia asked sitting next to her.
“When I was sixteen I fell in love with Liam Cypress, a fairy from a different clan. He was so sweet and gentile. His family and my family fought for years but we managed to fall in love no matter what our families thought. We planned to elope but on the night we were to meet at the church I saw my father holding his heart and Liam dead on the floor. They framed me and sent me here.”
“My brother!” Clayton gasped as he sat up in his bed. We all turned to him and he smiled as he looked at each of us. “My brother, is alive.” He said as tears spilled out.
“What?” I asked him. He looked up at me and jumped out of bed and bear hugged me.
“I have family, oh God I have my brother back.”
“That’s great! Where is he?” I asked as he put me down. Clayton gave me a confused look and then looked to Anastasia. Who looked just as shocked as Clayton did.
“I dunno,” He finally said.
“Great well I am going to shower.” I said as I picked up my toiletries. I smiled as I walked out into the hall and nodded as everyone started waking up. I quick hopped into the first shower stall. I started scrubbing in my shampoo when I felt a chill creep up my spine and my scalp crawled as it hit me. I fell to the floor screaming as I held onto my head praying it didn’t fly off.
“I was right when I told you not to trust that creature but you were right in the matter that she would save you.” Said the homo lupus.
“Told ya, but why are you here?”
“I bring news of the moonstone. Last night now starts the time for you to destroy the moonstone. You have until the December full moon to destroy it or the plant will regenerate and the process must start over once more.”
“That would require me to know the location, and I don’t.”
“God you are truly stupid. You already know where it is, you found it just before the Pimelea.”
“What do you mean?”
“Salvator et aquosa intra te dare dono dedit lapidemluna.”
“Can’t you just tell me where it is?”
“Wow no!”

“Tyler,” Justin asked me pulling me out of my haze.
“Yeah Justin?” I asked him.
“Have you heard a word of what I have been saying for the past ten minutes?” He asked with a half-smile on his face.
“No sorry I’m just really distracted with semesters coming closer,” I said looking up at him. Justin smiled and sat down next to me on the piano bench and leaned in.
“How are you feeling right now at this very moment and tell me the truth.” He whispered. I looked into his honey brown eyes and melted on the inside.
“I’m feeling tired, overwhelmed…” I said breathlessly.
“Why?” He asked getting closer.
“Cause of the moon…” I mentally slapped myself. s**t I just about said moonstone.
“The moon?”
“Yeah it is close to the full moon you know the saying. That’s when the lunatics come out to play.” I said bumping his shoulder with mine. It was the last full moon in November which means we only have a month to find the moonstone destroy it on the night of the full moon and still not fail my classes.
“I think you will be fine, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said standing up.
“Justin,” I said turning around to look at him.
“Yeah,” He asked looking over his shoulder.
“I really appreciate that you listen to my simple minded problems. I just wanted to extend the same for you.” I said as I twiddled my thumbs.
“What?” He asked turning around fully to face me.
“I’ve seen the way you have been acting since October.” When we broke the Pimelea. “I know things have been getting harder for teachers and students. What with people’s attitudes toward friends or their beliefs on the government. You always seem stressed…And now I am babbling. Bottom line I am here if you want to talk about anything.”
“I’d like that but that isn’t very professional.”
“Neither is seeing a teacher butt naked or having them sneak you into classes after school to make potions.” I commented.
“God would you let that first part go already,” He said blushing. I stood up with my backpack and walked over to him.
“Maybe when you open up to me I will,” I said poking him in the chest. “See you tomorrow,” I said hugging him. He hugged me back and I took this moment to take in his beautiful scent again.
“Bye,” He whispered as his lips brushed against my ear. It took my every fiber to not shiver at the slightest touch.
“Bye,” I mumbled into the curvature of his neck. Justin and I held onto each other longer than should be allowed by school policy but I didn’t mind. When your teacher looks like Derek of Teenwolf, you don’t ask questions.
I pulled away, sad to leave, Justin here alone in his music studio, but I had to visit Evelyn so she could help me with the vision I had months ago.
“Hey,” Justin said as I reached the door, I looked over my shoulder at him and smiled. “Tomorrow you want to hear about my pack back home?” He asked clearly uncomfortable.
“I’d like that,” I said as I gave him a true smile. His face melted into that stunning grin of his that made me melt. Before I could run down to him and spend an eternity listening to him I headed out. I quickly jogged down the sidewalk as the last of the leaves fell from the trees. I jumped up the stairs, two at time, hurrying up to Evelyn’s.
