I froze at the horrendous sight. My body kept trying to move, but my feet wouldn’t budge. Shivers ran through my spine. It was ‘déjà vu’ all over again. Just like the moment I first saw Damon with Ember together. All the emotions that I managed to forget come back flooding my mind.
Like an old wound opened up once again, I felt a striking pain in my chest. Tears welled up in my eyes, poured down my face uncontrollably. I mustered whatever little strength I had left to at least make sure it wasn’t a dream.
