Chapter 53

Shuji and his father have returned to the hotel where they are staying. He still can't believe that his sister Miku is the missing sister of Leatrice—Lixue Chen in her true identity.

"Why do you have to hide the truth from us, Papa?" Shuji asked his father as they both entered the elevator.

Shuji's mother knows that his brother was not taken from the orphanage. What Shuji couldn't understand was where his brother had come from back then and why he couldn't remember even a single thing about his identity.

"Because of my fear of Jiang and your mother, Shuji, your mother has long wanted to have another child, but I can no longer give that to her because we are old. When you came into our lives, I didn't want your mother to die, so I did that," Raiden said to his son. Shuji fell silent because the elevator opened, and some people entered.

"Doshite reatorisu no chichioya, rishue o kowagaru no? Karera wa hontoha don'na hitona no? Papa, karera wa ningen janai, kaibutsu yo!" Shuji said to his father causing his companions and his father to look at him.

(Why are you afraid of Leatrice's father—of Lixue, what are they really like? They're not human, Papa, they're monsters!)

Shuji shook his head at his father, Miku stayed on the island to be with her real family.

"Karera ga anata ni totte kaibutsunara, anata no imoto no Miku mo kaibutsudesu ka? Karera wa kaibutsude wa arimasen, Shuji, karera wa chichi yori mo ue no, watashitachi zen'in no shisho no deshidesu." Raiden exclaimed to his son as they both looked at each other.

(If they are monsters to you, then your sister Miku is also a monster? They are not monsters, Shuji, they are disciples of the one above the father, the master of us all.)

"Are you racing?" Shuji asked his father.

(What are they?)

Raiden motioned for his son to be quiet.

"Nephilim," Raiden whispered to his son, Shuji not immediately able to speak.

(Nephilim)

When the elevator opened, the father and son had reached the floor where they were staying. Raiden looked at his son who was silent beside him.

Raiden opened the door to the room they were staying in. When the two of them entered, Raiden just followed his son's gaze, stunned.

"Are you okay, son?" Raiden asked when he caught up with him to drink it.

Raiden also took off his shirt and placed it on the chair there.

"Is it true that they are angels and half human—nephilim, they are not just a myth?" Shuji exclaimed to his father, his father looked at him after that.

"No, they are not just a myth in the bible, they live a normal life on earth, long story but, I met Jiang at a time when I was giving up on my dream with your Mama," Raiden answered his son.

"What do you mean, Papa?" Shuji asked his father when he looked back.

"Your Mama and I both gave up on you not coming into our lives, so when I met Jiang when we bumped into each other in a building, he said your Mama was pregnant, I didn't immediately believe him because he was a stranger to me," Raiden told his son what he told him.

Miku called Shuji's cellphone when he was about to speak, and the two of them looked at each other.

"Brother!" Miku/Mikaelle opened up to them and saw her background.

"How are you?" Shuji and Raiden asked Miku.

Miku told her story to her brother and father, they found out that Lixue was sleeping in her room right now because she was tired. Shuji wanted to ask his sister so he stopped himself.

"Papa, our family is said to be Nephilim? I—am angel and half human? Is it true what I'm feeling now, Papa my head is going to explode from what I found out isn't this a dream I remember something happening to us before, is it true?" Miku/Mikaelle asked her father from the video call.

Shuji turned to leave his father and sister so they could talk. He also couldn't believe what he found out about his sister's true identity as well as Lixue or Leatrice Snow's family.

The woman Shuji's heart was beating with was Nephilim now. Shuji changed clothes and tried to take a nap while his sister was on the island with her real family.

Shuji's memory flashed back to what his mother had told his father they returned to the island that night and had dinner there.

Raiden spoke to his wife via Skype alongside their trusted nurse. After a dramatic scene at the dining table.

"Mama.." Raiden called to his wife when he saw her in front of the camera.

"Papa, why did you call me thru Skype? Did something happen in the Philippines?" Raiden's wife asked looking at the people with him.

"Mama.." Miku/Mikaelle called her second mother staring at her sister Lixue.

"Sarah? Are you alive?" Raiden's wife asked tearfully.

Raiden just shook his head knowing that his wife missed his bestfriend. His wife always sees the face of her bestfriend in their daughter when in reality she is the real daughter of her bestfriend.

Lixue is with them because they are only in the same place now.

"No, she's not her..she is the daughter of your bestfriend, Mama her husband is also here," Raiden answered his wife covering her mouth at what she found out.

"Lixue, It's you?" Raiden's wife asked as she held up the camera as if she was going to touch Lixue's face.

"Shi de, ninang It's me.." Lixue replied with a hesitant smile.

(Yes.)

"Remember me? I'm your ninang minnie doll who always played with you before?" Raiden's wife replied tearfully.

Lixue just shook her head because she didn't remember it. It's been a long time since she met him and she even saw him when he was a child.

"No, I'm sorry.." Lixue replied and looked at Shuji who was silently beside their sister.

"It's good that you had a reunion there, it's a shame that I'm not with you and it's not complete yet, wherever your mommy is, she's happy." Raiden's wife replied.

Raiden just smiled, his wife can't leave the country because of her illness.

"What's the reason you want to talk to me, Papa?" Raiden's wife asked, looking at him.

"Don't stress yourself.." Raiden began to say to his wife.

"Why should I be stressed about what you're going to say? What are you going to say?" Raiden's wife asked.

Her forehead furrowed at what her husband said. She looked at the two children next to her.

"Anata no otosan wa nani o motte imasu ka? Soshite kare wa sono yona monodesu ka?" Raiden's wife curiously asked her two children.

(What does your father have? and is he like that?)

"Ochitsuite, okusama." the nurse said next to Raiden's wife.

(Calm down, ma'am.)

Watashi wa anata kara himitsu o mamottanode, Mama, anata ni uso o tsuita koto o owabi shimasu." Raiden said hesitantly to his wife when he saw this.

(I apologize for having lied to you, Mama because I kept a secret from you.)

Raiden looked at his wife, wanting to see her reaction to what he said.

"What did you—say?" his wife stammered, the nurse calming her down.

"Mama, sorry.." Miku/Mikaelle replied to her mother.

"Nani ga okotta nodesu ka, anata wa ninshin shite imasu ka?" Raiden's wife asked her husband and daughter when she looked at him.

(What happened, are you pregnant?)

The people on the island were surprised by what Raiden's wife said. This caused Lixue and Shuji to look at their sister who was shocked by what her mother said.

"Nani? Mochiron chigaimasu, Mama watashi wa ninshin shite imasen!" Miku/Mikaelle yelled at her mother, holding her forehead.

(What the? Of course not, Mama I'm not pregnant!)

Shuji patted her forehead and just shook his head.

"Mama, Miku is not pregnant, Papa has something to tell you," Shuji replied to his mother, looking at him.

"What are you going to say, Papa?" Raiden's wife asked.

"I didn't adopt Miku from an orphanage—" Raiden cut off when his wife didn't answer.

"Watashi wa shitte imasu, watashi wa yoku shitte imasu, anata ga chodo kanojo o koko ni tsurete kita toki anata ga kanojo o yoshi ni shinakatta Papa." Raiden's wife said.

(I know, I know very well, Papa you didn't adopt her when you just brought her here.)

Raiden was surprised by what he heard from his wife, especially their two children.

"Dono yo ni, watashi ga kanojo o yoshi ni shinai koto o do yatte shitta nodesu ka?" Raiden said to his wife in surprise, his face even closer to the screen.

(How, how did you know I didn't adopt her?)

"I'm not stupid enough not to know that even though I'm sick and weak, I know you, Raiden." Raiden's wife replied to her husband.

"I'm sorry, Ma..." Raiden said to his wife.

Raiden told his wife the truth and his wife was not angry with him.

"Why didn't you admit it from the beginning?" Raiden's wife replied to him.

No one said a word to the people there. Lixue turned around when their bodyguard called her, Lixue's father followed her with a look.

"You'll be angry with me, Mama," Raiden replied to his wife.

"I'll really be angry with you, you took him away from his family—" Raiden's wife interrupted when Jiang interrupted.

"Even though what your husband did wasn't good, it was good for us, mare, because our daughter was safe from demons and evil spirits, she didn't become our weakness to the enemies," Jiang replied to his friend's wife.

Shuji heard all this and also learned that Lixue's father had a new family and it took a long time for her to get over her resentment towards her father because for some reason Jiang didn't mention it.

Lixue didn't return to them and her sister asked her brother and two fathers about it.

"She's busy, Miku, as an angel and a nephilim, our father has something to do and we follow it, we can't refuse without a reason...Raiden, Lixue will stay with you for a while, I know she doesn't want to live here on the island because of the tragedy, I will entrust you with my two children, she also has a reason why she doesn't want to come with me to China." Jiang replied to his friend.

"I understand, bro, I hope it's not her but also your two stepdaughters who will be affected by Lixue's anger, not Miku, because she has no idea," Raiden replied to his friend, they looked at their daughter Miku who was clueless about what her two fathers said.

Shuji was silent to one side and thought that they weren't talking to her mother because she needed to rest.

"Papa, kare/kanojo wa daredesu ka? Kare/kanojo ga imoto no ikari no gen'in ni naranai no wa nazedesu ka?" Miku/Mikaelle said to her father.

(Who is he/she, Papa? Why shouldn't he/she be the reason for sister's anger?)

Raiden turned his gaze to his friend. Shuji and Miku also turned their gaze to Lixue's father who had changed his face and did not speak.

"Just—Miku, don't mention this to your sister because she won't like it," Raiden replied to his daughter when he looked back.

Raiden agreed to his friend's offer for him and his son to stay on the island for a few days before returning to Manila. Shuji was silent as he and his father checked out of the hotel to leave and return to the island.
