Chapter 52

Shuji woke up when he felt someone tapping him.

"Brother, let's go out..." Miku invited her brother, who sat beside her.

"Where's Papa?" Shuji asked when he saw that their father was not there.

Miku just shrugged at her brother.

"You don't know? Where could Papa have gone?" Shuji said to his sister.

Shuji got up, took some clothes and a towel, and headed straight to the bathroom. When he finished and came out of the bathroom, he saw his sister on his cellphone.

"Are you texting Papa?" Shuji asked as he approached his sister.

"Yes, he's at a restaurant far from where we're staying, but it's still inside the resort," Miku replied, showing their father's text.

They immediately left their lodging. Shuji's sister was holding onto his arm as they went to the restaurant and searched for its name. When they found it, the two of them looked for their father.

"There's Papa talking to a man, brother," Miku said to her brother when she spotted their father.

"Let's go to them-" Shuji said, interrupted when he noticed his sister searching for something in their bag.

"Brother, I think I left my wallet at the hotel, I thought I had already taken it you go to them first, brother—" Miku was saying when her brother interrupted.

"Do you know the way back to the hotel?" Shuji asked his sister.

"Yeah, okay..." Miku said as she immediately turned her back on her brother.

'Why do I feel differently about the person my Papa is talking to?' Shuji said to himself.

Lixue parted ways with G.M after attending church together and went to a place. After that, GM said goodbye to Lixue, telling her that he would return to the island and she could just call him if she needed help.

"Lixue, I'm here at a resort near our island your ninong wants us to meet there," Jiang said to her daughter.

When she noticed that many people were flocking. She immediately flew to a tree-covered spot where she wouldn't be noticed by the people.

"Dad, I'm here." Lixue said to her father in her mind.

When Lixue returned to her original form, she tied her hair and removed the bloodstains from her clothes.

Lixue was walking when she bumped into a woman. She stared as he felt the strange energy coming from the woman.

"Mikaelle.." Lixue whispered, the woman apologized to her.

The woman looked back at Lixue before walking away from them. She followed her because she knew they would meet again. Lixue searched for her father using the vision of her power.

Lixue saw her father sitting next to Shuji. She took a deep breath before following the woman she was tracking.

"Dad!" Lixue called to her father, and Shuji, her godfather Raiden, and the woman who had just sat down turned to look at her.

"Lixue! I miss you so much, how was the trip there?" Jiang said with a smile to her daughter.

"Dad, you still haven't changed, we just saw each other earlier, godfather...hi, Shuji." Lixue greeted, the two nodded at her while the woman looked on.

"How is your stay here, hija?" Raiden asked his godchild as he turned to look at her.

"I'm okay, ninong, we all are here?" Lixue said as she sat beside her father and nodded at him.

"Yes, we just arrived the other day, my daughter Miku is my adopted daughter," Raiden said.

"Oh? She is the one you're referring to, Shuji?" Lixue asked, and he just nodded.

"Hi, I'm Miku and you are?" the woman greeted as she looked at Lixue.

"Lixue Chen, but call me Leatrice," Lixue replied as she shook hands, feeling her energy.

Miku immediately let go of Lixue's hand and just smiled.

"Waiter, menu please.." Raiden said to the waiter, avoiding eye contact with his godchild.

When the waiter arrived, he handed over the menu and just stood by the side while writing down Raiden's order.

"Are you still studying, Miku?" Lixue asked.

"Yes, I'm just on vacation here in Manila." Miku/Mikaelle replied and just smiled.

"Ah.." Lixue said as she drank the water placed beside her.

"How long will you be here, bro?" Raiden asked his friend, quickly changing the topic.

"On Tuesday, don't you have something to tell us, my daughter and I?" Jiang replied seriously to his friend.

Shuji was just looking at his companions, but secretly, he kept glancing at Lixue, staring at his sister.

"Yeah... just the three of us wa-" Raiden was cut off by Shuji and Lixue.

"Why aren't they here? Why aren't Miku and I here?" Lixue and Shuji asked at the same time, exchanging glances.

"They need to know the truth, bro, especially your wife, you've been hiding the truth from them for a long time, you can't keep it hidden from us or them forever," Jiang replied to his friend, while Shuji and Miku looked puzzled.

Raiden couldn't respond to what his friend said. Lixue felt something stick to his foot and turned to look in front of her. Lixue ignored it and just continued talking.

"What year are you in school?" Lixue asked.

"I'm graduating.." Miku/Mikaelle replied awkwardly, avoiding eye contact.

"When are you coming back to Sakura?" Shuji asked Lixue.

Lixue turned around and took a breath before speaking. She saw Miku turning away from her, and she could only shake her head.

"Sakura?" Jiang replied upon hearing what Shuji said.

"Soon, Shuji.." replied Lixue.

"Excuse me, there is your order.." the waiter said, causing everyone to turn their heads, Shuji couldn't respond when the waiter placed his father's order.

They ate first until they finished, then Lixue drank tea. Shuji was talking to his sister, whispering something.

"Lixue makes me feel awkward every time she looks at me..." Miku said to her brother.

Lixue heard this, causing her to look at the two.

"How was your trip here?" Jiang asked his friend.

"Aren't you happy, hijo and hija?" Raiden asked his two children as he turned his gaze.

"Yeah, it felt like I went back to being a kid when—" Miku happily replied, but was cut off when she noticed her three companions looking at her.

"You really want to go back to the past..." Lixue interjected before standing up from her seat.

Shuji followed her out of the restaurant.

Lixue leaned against the tree, knowing someone was following her. When she turned around, she saw Shuji.

"What-" Shuji's pointed question as he followed Lixue.

"Why did you follow me?" Lixue asked, changing the topic.

"I want to see you and talk to you, you haven't called me for days—you haven't even texted me." Shuji replied, staring at Lixue's face.

"I'm busy, I know-" Lixue said, interrupted when Shuji hugged her.

"Busy, but you're with GM? I'm jealous of him too," Shuji whispered in her ear.

Lixue just laughed at what Shuji said to her, which made her walk away.

"Why are you laughing?" Shuji asked seriously.

"Why wouldn't I laugh, huh? There's no reason for you to be jealous of him, I've known him longer than you." Lixue replied, noticing that his expression became more serious.

"There you go, I have even more reason to be jealous because you're with him, and your growing love for me might fade away." Shuji replied, surprised when Lixue kissed him on the lips.

"Nothing will be lost, what I'm worried about is... you, your sister, and your father, even if he did something wrong, there must be a reason—" Lixue said, interrupted by Shuji's frown.

"What?" Shuji asked Lixue in surprise.

Shuji hurriedly returned to the restaurant and saw Raiden and Jiang standing there. Lixue followed closely and saw Shuji standing still. She felt that her father was using his power to stop time and movement.

"Dad! G-" Lixue's call was cut off when she saw her godfather Raiden with his two children.

"Pa?" called a woman next to Raiden.

"Jiang!" Raiden called out to his friend.

"Later...after this.." Jiang replied seriously, looking at his friend's two children.

Jiang suddenly turned around, and Lixue first looked at her godfather Raiden before turning her gaze to the siblings.

"Dad, what is that?" Shuji asked his father, looking at his sister who had a puzzled expression.

"Just follow us," Raiden replied to his two children as their surroundings returned to normal.

"Do you know, brother, when they started arguing after you left, the people suddenly stopped, cool but scary.." Miku whispered to her brother.

"What? What was the reason for their argument?" Shuji asked his sister.

"I don't know because they used Mandarin, I'm not yet proficient in that language," Miku replied to her brother as they followed their father out of the resort.

The siblings were puzzled as they passed by many houses and buildings, and Shuji had a suspicion about where they were going.

"Papa?" called Miku and Shuji to their father.

Their father suddenly stopped in front of them in the parked van. Shuji looked around the place wasn't crowded yet.

"Master Shuji, please come in, we're not going through the forest today," a woman approach in black in front of Shuji.

"Forest?" Miku replied, really puzzled by what was happening.

"If not in the forest, why did we distance ourselves from people?" Shuji asked as he helped his sister into the van.

Their father boarded the van first, quietly sitting beside them. Shuji didn't answer and got into the driver's seat.

"Karera o shitte imasu ka?" Miku asked her brother, speaking in Japanese that only they could understand.

(Do you know them?)

"Hai, watashi wa karera o shitte imasu, soshite karera wa karera no bodīgādodesu." Shuji said, looking ahead to know the direction.

(Yes, I know them and they are their bodyguards.)

His sister forehead furrowed even more at what he said.

"Tsumari, anata wa karera no ie ni itta koto ga arimasu, soshite kanojo wa soredesu, kanojo wa 'Leatrice' moderu o sansho shite imashita ka?" Miku asked her brother, causing Shuji to look at her.

(It's mean, you've been to their house, and she is that, she was 'Leatrice' models referring to?)

"Pa-" Shuji said, started to ask when his sister interrupted.

"I suddenly thought of what they were referring to, that she wasn't in Sakura, and then you asked her when she would return to Sakura, brother," Miku replied to her brother, who just nodded.

"That's right..." Shuji admitted to his sister.

Miku nodded and just breathed after that. Miku was puzzled when she saw the path the vehicle was taking.

"It feels like I've been here before..." Miku replied, and Shuji heard it.

"Impossible..." Shuji said to his sister.

"Welcome back, Mikaelle Chen to your mansion," the woman said in black, slapping her forehead because of what she said.

"Mikaelle? Who is Mikaelle?" Miku asked the woman in black.

"I'm done for this, as long as...nevermind." the woman in black said, avoiding eye contact.

Shuji was surprised by what the woman in black said.

"Mikaelle..it feels like I've already arrived here.." Miku said to herself again.

They stopped at a large wall, the woman in black honked, and the siblings were startled. When the wall changed, it became a large gate. The gate opened, and the vehicle started moving inside again.

"Wow, high tech!" Miku exclaimed.

They looked back and saw the large gate closing by itself. They turned around again, and Shuji gazed at the surroundings until he saw the mansion where he had lived for a few days before. He even looked at the exit leading out of the island resort.

As soon as they got out of the car, they immediately entered the mansion, and the bodyguards suddenly bowed to them.

"Welcome back!" shouted the servant before leaving their presence.

"Papa!" Miku called out to her father when she saw him walking away.

They saw him stop in the dining hall, and Miku sat down when she felt a throbbing headache.

"Papa!" Miku called out to her father, but Shuji just stared at her while kneeling beside her.

"Why here? Are you all that angry with me?" Raiden shouted around.

"We're not even angry at you, ninong, we're actually grateful that you took her in and treated me like your child, but you shouldn't have kept it a secret FROM ME or your FRIEND that his daughter is alive and the-" Lixue started shouting from the side of the wall, but when she saw the siblings kneeling, she stopped.

"Ahhh!!" Miku shouted as her head throbbed intensely.

"Mikaelle!" Lixue shouted as she immediately approached.

"Who is Mikaelle?" Shuji asked, pushing Lixue.

"Your sister is my younger sister!" Lixue shouted and looked at her godfather Raiden.

"Papa, what is she saying to me and Miku?" Shuji asked his father.

"Her sister is your adopted sister, Shuji! I saved her!" Raiden replied, feeling relieved.

"Ahhh!!!" Miku shouted as she looked around, memories flooding back to her.

"Why didn't you tell your godchild and me that you adopted your godchild as your own? We wouldn't be angry because this is for her safety since she is still weak that time," Jiang started with his friend.

"I'm so scared of losing my wife and you!" Raiden shouted at his friend.

"Papa, does that mean Miku is Lixue's long-lost younger sister and her real name is Mikaelle?" Shuji asked as he hugged his sister who was throwing a tantrum.

"Ahhh! Demon, sister!" Miku shouted, almost crying, and hugged Lixue.

Shuji was shocked by the scene in front of him, he couldn't believe what he had just learned—that the adopted sister was Lixue's missing younger sister.

"Shh..they're gone..." Lixue whispered, comforting her sister.

Shuji was just staring at his sister and Lixue.

"Dad? Papa? Brother? Sister?" Miku/Mikaelle said in surprise to her companions.

"Yes, Mikaelle, welcome back, your memories have returned, come here..." Jiang called to his younger daughter.

Miku approached her father and held his hand, and suddenly they both lit up.

"Papa, why did you keep this from me—from us?" Shuji asked as he stood up from the floor.

"For her safety and for your mother's safety, son, I hope you understand what I did, especially to you, my friend..." Raiden apologized to his friend.

"To your godchild, you should apologize, not to me, because she has been searching for her sister for a long time, and you know that," Jiang replied after holding his younger dayghter's hand.

"Lixue.." Raiden called his godchild.

"I accept your apology, ninong, you should have just informed me and dad we wouldn't have been angry with what you did, maybe, I was just upset with you...it's better that you adopted her than let her die back then, I know, she is safe now," Lixue replied, sitting beside Shuji.

"You don't need to look for your sister, Lixue, exchange cellphone numbers so you can contact each other, I will let the name Miku remain with her because the name Mikaelle has long been gone from this world," Jiang replied.

Shuji saw Lixue frown and handed the cellphone to her sister. Miku did the same they exchanged cellphone numbers.

"Did father accept it right away?" Lixue asked her father.

Lixue looked at her sister when she spoke.

"Yes, he accepted it right away for my safety and the safety of our family," Miku/Mikaelle replied to her brother.

"Miku, are you really okay? Aren't you angry at what I did?" Raiden asked his daughter as he approached her.

"Thank you, Papa, because of you I'm alive, I'm not really furious about your secrecy, I was probably just shocked by what I found out, where's mom?" Miku/Mikaelle asked her father and sister.

Lixue didn't answer, especially her father.

"She's died but she's alive like you.." Lixue answered to her sister.

Nothing happened, everything became quiet. The four of them were feeling each other out after their emotional confrontation.

The next day, Shuji woke up from bed with puffy eyes. After the confession, contrition, and other matters, he and his family returned to the hotel.

Shuji still can't believe that the adopted daughter of his father, Lixue's sister, is the woman who captured his heart.

'Monday..' Shuji said as he looked at his cellphone after checking the time.
