Evander
My cousin-brother has been giving me cold shoulders ever since what happened on the field last week. Even after we arrived at my parents house.
I didn't give a damn as well about his offish attitude. But today, he had to behave because it was the families' ritual day.
The last thing I wanted was to be entangled in a fight over a girl who can't keep her p***y to herself. Well, from me though.
"What's up? How are you two going to pass the day without causing a scene?" August asked as he stood by my side.
Our families were already arriving. Within minutes our house was filled with a pack of wolves, ranging from the most dangerous and the least deadly.
I will give a quick introduction about my family.
In the midst of the human world, there were paranormal creatures like us that roamed the earth under a disguise as humans.
There were witches, like my aunt Brenda, vampires, Uncle Scott's wife who isn't fully welcomed to the family yet and us werewolves. There were others but we were the most superior of them all.
And during the time of the red moon, we gathered for our ritual to the moon goddess who I still don't believe exist.
Like we are a bunch of cursed creatures who believe that the moon will save us from danger once will pray onto it.
A stupid superstition that would us killed one day.
My mother, the beautiful Luna of our pack came in with my little sister tagged behind her.
"Look who's here. My eldest son still looks handsome as ever," she said pulling me into a hug. I reciprocated her gesture, wrapping my hand around her waist just to get my father attention.
He was damn possessive of her even though I was his son.
"Get your hands off her, young man," he growled, his eyes burning with jealousy.
"Don't be a jerk, Adonis and come say hello to your son," she scolded him and he narrowed his eyes at in a I will deal with you later kind of look.
He snatched her away from me and went on to mingle with other relatives that had arrived.
"I know that I am small but you don't have to rub it on my face by ignoring me. Hi, August," my sister said with a pissed voice which later switched to being sweet after August joined us.
"Well, it is not that I don't see you. But I have no interest in talking to you." I dryly muttered just to piss her off.
"What?!"
"See you later and have fun with August." I gently pushed her aside, ignoring her tantrums as I headed towards the corner Ivan had entered.
I sneakily followed him and found him making out with his mate. This was more of the reason why I decided to get involved with that sweet innocent human girl of his.
He was going to break her heart sooner or later. werewolves bonds were something we could not give up on for a mere human.
But what I do not understand is why he was still mad at me, when he already had his mate by his side .
They broke apart, Ivan and his mate. And he seemed to be the one pushing her away.
"is this because of that human girl?" his mate asked.
"Don't bring that up, Fiona. She has nothing to do about us."
"Then why do you keep resisting me? I am your f*****g mate, Ivan."
"And that is the problem. I don't like you but I am stuck with you because of this mate bond. So don't think you can ride on with the fact that I haven't rejected you yet." He coldly barked at her in a whisper.
He walked out of the room and met me leaning by the wall.
"You should have continued with your joy ride," I taunted him and he gritted his teeth, taking a step closer to me.
"f**k off."
"Ah, my innocent cousin now uses vulgar words. The human world is seriously giving you a good touch," I teased him and he grew more pissed.
His mate walked out and met us but she sensibly strode away without speaking to any of us.
"You should keep away from Aria. You are not good for her," he muttered with a hostile voice that made me laugh.
"And you think you are better? Let me warn you, stick to your mate like the well mannered prince you are and stop having the ideas that you can be with Aria. It will only get you in trouble," I warned him off because I knew what it would cost him to go against the pack's rules.
He didn't say a word again and decided to walk away.
Things were only going to get complicated if he involved Aria. It's not like I care about her but I don't want to have to watch a pesky human getting killed by a pack of wolves or worse a jealous lover.
It was best she stayed miserable, be my f**k toy until the day I get bored of her.
After a short while, I returned to the ballroom and acted like nothing had happened between us. Because one wrong singal from any off us could cause a wolf.
Ivan was the next Alpha of his father and I was the next in line to my father's throne as the Lycan king.
When I returned to August's side, he secretly begged me to get My sister off his case. She was damn too clingy. I knew she had a crush on him and I already promised myself that any man who tries to be her intimate with her would end up dead and I couldn't afford that person being August.
"Go find something else to bug. I will be taking August with me," I said, snatching him from her.
I expected her to run back to my parents whining but she stood firm brooding like a lost hen. While I was talking to August, I got a glimpse of someone who shouldn't be here.
