Aria
"Chris, what is wrong with you?" Marky yells at him, smacking his head with his book.
"Ouch!"
"You two should grow up," Sage scolded, rolling her eyes at them.
This was my circle of friends, Marky, Chris, Sage and me. We have known each other since we were in nappies.
Our parents were best friends and we carried on the legacy, sticking to each other like glue.
While I was close to Sage, Marky and Chris were hip and bone. They were chaotic and reckless but I still loved them because their presence brightened my gloomy boring mood.
We were seated on a cemented bench with a round table under a tree in front of my faculty building.
I watched them fight each other quietly, zoning into my thoughts.
My nights became hunted after my affair with Evander and hell, I don't know what happened to me last night because I found myself dreaming about him and when I woke up this morning, a part of my bedsheet was soaked in jelly.
I haven't spoken to Ivan since that day I left his practice. He kept on ignoring my calls and texts. A part of me is scared that he knows the truth and wants to break up with me.
"Hello, down to earth Aria. Is everything ok? This is the third time you are zoning out," Sage complained, snapping her fingers to my face.
"I am fine. It's just that I have a lot of work to do and assignments. And Ivan has been ignoring me..." I breathed out, regretting my last sentence because Sage's eyes widened in fury.
"He is ignoring you? How dare he?" she snapped, getting up from her seat with an immediate effect that startled me.
"Calm down, mama bear. Maybe, he is practicing or busy with something important," Marky said, releasing Chris from his grip.
"Don't doesn't give him the balls to ignore her. He can always reply her texts or calls. What is so hard in doing that?" Sage wasn't taking it at all. She was pissed on my behalf and that was cute of her.
"It's alright. He might be busy," I said, agreeing to Marky's assumption.
"Or getting his d**k sucked off by those sluts that call themselves cheerleaders!" Sage blurted out with anger.
"Hey, settle down. I know you are mad but Ivan will get back to her. Aria is not complaining. Besides, your boyfriend has been busy lately," Chris added, trying to cool off Sage's steam.
"At least, he returns my calls and replies my texts. So that is different. I really don't like you dating Ivan. He is a popular guy with too many bitches around him," Sage defended, getting out of control.
"That's enough, Sage. I will visit him later today and..."
"You have to be careful, Riri. If he hurts you, I will commit a murder," She warned, more like threatened.
Either ways, I knew she was just looking out for me.
I looked at my phone and noticed it was time for my class.
"See you guys later, I have class now," I said, taking my bag and books on the table.
"Okay, I will wait for you after class so that we can work together," Sage yelled behind me and I waved at her while heading into the building.
I made it to the class before the professor came in. He handled the class in journalism.
A tough course that gave me s**t grades. I think the professor hates me because he never forgets my name whenever he has a question to ask.
"Good morning, class. I hope you all slept well. Aria, can you remind us of where we stopped last week?" he pointed me out.
see!, the man does hate me. I picked up my book, flipped over to the note I made from the last topic.
"The last topic was centered on the propaganda models used for mass communication and their significance," I said, attempting to sit down.
"Explain," he added.
I paused for a few minutes until he looked at me. Everyone in the hall grew uncomfortable as the awkward silence infused a nerve ending tension.
"I am sorry, sir, but I cannot explain the concept," I replied, even though I knew what to answer.
"That's a minus twenty for you then," he said, scrabbling something down on his note.
I frowned, blinking back my tears from felling because they were not tears of sadness but anger.
"Sir, you can't do that to me. What wrong did I do to be treated like this?" I questioned him, raising my voice slightly from the pressure I felt.
"Get out of my class and never come in again. From now on, you are no longer a student of my class."
"What?" I muttered in disbelief. I looked around and everyone was minding their business.
Unable to argue and stir up trouble, I took my things and stormed out of the hall.
This was terrible, I couldn't stand being frustrated like this. Cancelling one of my subjects is like starting from the beginning and that alone will drop my CGPA.
I trudged down to the cafeteria thinking of what to do and who to reach out to for help.
But when I got there, I saw Ivan and his cousin, Evander with their two other friends who names I could slightly remember.
My eyes locked with Evander's but I ignored him and went over to the food stand.
"Please, I would love to have fried potatoes and chicken sauce with a little vegetable salad," I ordered, taking out my card to pay but it got snatched away.
"I will get that for you," Ivan said, extending his card to the sales guy. I didn't argue with and thanked the guy over the counter after her gave me my food.
I tried to take another table but Ivan raised a questioning brow at me then pointed at the table his friends were seated.
"Do you have a problem with me? The last time I checked you were ignoring me," I muttered, feeling awkward beside him.
"We will talk about that later," he brushed it off then pulled out a chair for me and placed my tray on the table.
"Hello, pretty lady. I haven't seen you for awhile," One of Ivan's friend said.
I couldn't remember his name and tried to hide it but he caught on quick.
"My name is Ryan. please, don't forget it next time," he muttered with a smile.
"I am sorry about that."
"Shouldn't you be in class now? I thought you had journalism today," Ivan remembered my class schedule.
This was one of the reasons I loved him. He knew about my plans, hobbies, work, etc. and never forget them.
"Yeah, I do but something came up and I left," I lied.
"What came up?" He asked and I blurted out the first thing that came in my mind.
"My period." I regretted saying it out loud but seeing their faces glow up with panic killed the embarrassment I felt.
They were seriously traumatized with the word, especially Evander whose brows knitted tightly like he was troubled.
This is going to be fun.
Don't forget to comment for more chapters. I really need it. Happy reading 😘
