CHAPTER 2
Alice looked at the pair of mother and daughter, then smiled back at them.
“Take your seat and let's have dinner,” Mr Leo said.
“Thank you dad,” Alice said.
There was a long silence.
“Alice, it has been a long time since I saw Roger,why don't you invite him for breakfast tomorrow?” Mrs Emma said.
“Ohh,we just broke up this morning,” Alice said dejectedly.
“OMG! What is the reason you broke up” Clara said in a mocking tune.
“That's enough for today,” Mr Leo said.
“Dad, why are you always doing this? I only want to know what happened that they both broke up” Clara said with a mocking smile.
“Don't worry dad, Clara you want to know right?” Alice asked.
'`Yes, so that I won't make the same mistake in the future” Clara said.
“Okay,it was because I'm not the inheritor of the family, are you happy now Alice” said with a small smile.
“Sorry sis” Clara said, a little guilty about what happened.
“It's not your fault so don't be sorry” Alice said as she continued eating.
“That's what you get when you are a motherless child” Mrs Emma said.
“That's enough Emma Mr Leo” said angrily
Then stood up and left without finishing his food.
“Are you happy now?” Alice said, then stood up and walked away.
It didn't hurt Alice that much because she was used to it.
“Mom, that was too much of you,” Clara said.
“I just told the bitter truth,” Mrs Emma said proudly.
“Even so, mom, she's still suffering from heartbreak,” Clara said.
“Okay okay, I heard you” Mrs Emma said.
★ AT THE STUDY ROOM ★
“Dad there was one book, when I was little mom usually read it for me, I can't find it here” Alice said.
“All those books are in the lock, your mom's name is the password” Mr Leo said.
As I opened the lock the first thing I saw was my mom's beautiful pictures. I was happy dad didn't throw it away, next was her jewelry and treasures she hunted. As I continued going deep into the things hidden there, I felt a warm palm on my shoulder, it was dad.
Only if she had lived a little bit longer, she would have seen how strong and capable her daughter was, Mr Leo said.
Alice smiled at her dad and said.
It's the best for her that is why she left, Alice said to Mr Leo.
She should have left in such a terrible way Mr Leo said.
It has been destined dad, you can't change it Alice said.
It's okay, let's just continue looking at the things, I have not looked at all the things, since she always kept it as a treasure Mr Leo said.
Okay dad Alice said.
★ NEXT MORNING ★
I was woken up by the annoying sound of my alarm. I was too tired to get up. I gathered all the strength I had left in me to the bathroom.
I took my bath and brushed my teeth, then came out of the bathroom with a bathrobe.
After changing into my houseware, A pair of jeans and a crop top, she sat on the sofa in her room.
Knock knock knock, three consecutive knocks came from the door.
“Come in, the door is open” Alice said.
The maid came in “ma'am, sir said I should call you down for breakfast” the maid said.
“I told you not to call me ma'am, just call me Alice, please tell dad that I'm going to eat in my room today” Alice said.
“Okay miss Alice” the maid said.
Alice just smiles back at her.
Soon Alice had the door twist, she looked up to find her dad with breakfast.
“Good morning dad,” Alice said.
“Good morning,” Mr Leo said with a warm smile.
“Why don't you eat with them, I can eat alone” Alice said.
“Ohh that mother and daughter pair are troublesome, I couldn't take it any longer” Mr Leo said.
“That's how they are!” Alice said not interested in the pair of mother and daughter.
“Let's stop talking about them and eat,” Mr Leo said.
“Okay dad,” Alice said.
“So Alice, what are you going to do today?” Mr Leo.
“I'm just going to look at all I took from the lock last night” Alice replied.
“Okay if you need any help dad is there to help you” Mr Leo said.
“Thank you dad Alice” said.
★ HOURS LATER ★
“Mom Alice hasn't come out of her room today!Do you think she's still crying?” Clara said.
The only way to know is for us to go to her room Mrs Emma suggested.
“Yeah, let's go mom,” Clara said.
★ ALICE'S ROOM ★
Alice heard a knock from the door
“Come in” she said as she dropped what she was busy with in her wardrobe
Mrs Emma and Clara came in
“Huh! Why are you both here?” Alice said in shock to see both mother and daughter in her room today.
“We came to visit you and accompany you today, so that you wouldn't feel lonely, I know it's hard for you to bear the heartbreak” Mrs Emma said.
“Ohh!, Thanks but as you can see I am fine and am not lonely” Alice said.
“What do you mean?” Clara said.
“I mean I'm not lonely, dad will always be there for me,” Alice said with a sarcastic smile on her face.
“Okay I know, but we are still family to us, so we are here to help put a smile on your face,” Clara said.
“Please, I would like to be alone for now,” Alice said.
“We will see you later,” Clara said.
★ CLARA’S ROOM ★
“Mom I can't believe we went there to rub salt on her wound but instead we got backfired, is she a devil?” Clara said.
“I think so too, she just broke up this morning and she didn't care about that,” Mrs Emma said.
“Yeah and there is something suspicious about her the way she looked at the wardrobe and wants us out of her room, don't you find it a little bit suspicious' ' Clara said.
“We will find out about that tomorrow,” Mrs Emma said.
★ NEXT MORNING ★
“Good morning dad,” Clara said.
“Good morning dad,” Alice said.
“Good morning princess, how was your night?” Mr Leo said.
“Good morning Clara,”Mr Leo said.
“It was good and yours?” Alice said.
“It was good, let's start eating,” Mr Leo said.
“Can you and Alice go shopping today?” Mrs Emma said.
“Shopping? today!” Mr Leo said, confused.
“The bills are on me,”Mrs Emma said.
“Mom, what about me?” Clara said.
“You stay at home, I have to spend some time with them to grow our relationship, '' Mrs Emma said.
“Okay fine,” Clara said.
★ HOURS LATER ★
Alice and the rest were already gone for almost an hour or two, so Clara was sure they were gone, after looking around for something she went into Alice's room.
After some minutes she was already sweating all over, finally she saw what she was looking for, before she could go true it the door was wide open.
