5 The Effect Of Her Proximity

James’ P.O.V.

I stared at her retreating back blankly while thinking about what to do. I decided to leave her to deal with the consequences of not listening to me, and for acting recklessly. Either she was to naïve to understand the scheming that others were about to play on her or playing on her or she was too cunning to use them for her advantage.

I stood up and walked to my chair again. I took the file from the table again and opened it. I had so many things to finish, and I was also exhausted. I wanted to take a good shower before going to bed.

“Go to her…. You know that she will not be in her right state of mind right now. What if she…. She,” Aero urged at the back of my mind in a desperate tone, and trailed off making me taking a deep breath. He was pacing to and fro restlessly, giving me a headache.

“She should be careful. Let her face the consequence this time. It will be a good lesson for her,” I answered him nonchalantly while trying hard to read what was written on the papers. “What if she… she approach someone else. Don’t forget that she is surrounded by so many unmated wolves who can smell her arousal. You are putting her in a grave danger. No one knows that she is our mate. She doesn’t have our mark on her,” he almost yelled in the end, trying to get control so that he could run to her.

His statement made me stiffen. “Damn it,” I cursed while throwing the file on the table, and stormed out of the room. I ran straight to my room at the second floor of the mansion. Everyone was startled by my action but I had no intention to pay attention to them. I might hate her, but she was my mate. I banged open the door of my room, making the door collided with the wall behind it.

“S**t,” I muttered when the scent of her arousal hit my nostrils instantly. I was going to kill Thomas for using a strong aphrodisiac on her when he knew that she was a human, not a werewolf. I immediately closed the door behind me as she was now trying to remove her clothes while writhing on the floor near the bathroom.

“Sarah,” I called her while running to her. I squatted down near her, and pulled her in my embrace. The sparks burst all over my body, but I ignored them. Her scent of arousal was making me suffocated. The urge of making her mine was so strong right now, and it was really hard to fight with it. She immediately clung on me and snuggled against my chest.

“Sarah… behave,” I asked her in a stern voice when she started roaming her hands all over my chest and back. I felt a twitch in my pants. Aero howled at the back of my mind, making me lose my concentration. She was breathing heavily due to effect of the drug. Suddenly she moved up in my embrace, and my whole body shuddered hard in delight when her hot breaths fanned the bare skin at my neck. She kissed me there. If she were a wolf, then she would have marked me there. My heart was now running a marathon inside my chest.

I cursed the mate bond for making me feel all those things that I had never felt with any other woman, didn’t matter if she was a human or a werewolf. I looked down, and gulped hard while licking my lips when my gaze fell on her pink full lips that were parted slightly. I slowly stroked her face while looking at her helplessly. This was the first time that I wanted to make someone mine.

She moved her face towards my neck, and started kissing me again. I closed my eyes and tried hard to control myself. She was burning now. Her soft voices were getting shallow with every passing second. I needed to do something very fast or else it would be fatal for her.

She moved her head from one side to the other while kissing me all over my neck, making me lose the control over me. My grip on her waist tightened. Her soft bre*sts rubbed against my chest, making me feel getting harder. She trailed her kisses towards my jawline. I was now breathing heavily while trying hard, not to kiss her back. I moved my face away when her lips were about to touch my lips. 

I gritted my teeth, and scooped her in my embrace in bridal style. I rushed inside the bathroom. I immediately opened the tap to fill the bathtub with cold water, and almost threw her inside the bathtub. She shuddered hard when the cold water hit her body.

She gasped for the air while opening her eyes widely. I guess the cold water brought her back on her senses. She looked at me baffled and immediately crossed her hands over her chest. “You….. wh… why are you here?” she asked me in a panic tone. I looked at her coldly. Ungrateful brat……

“Soak yourself under the water well… don’t sleep… and if you feel sleepy… just call me,” I instructed her in a cold tone, trying hard to stay away from her. She immediately slumped her body down inside the water. I stormed out of the bathroom but didn’t close the door. She was too fragile to bear the consequences of the drug.

I stormed out of the room while dialing a number. I closed the door behind me and took a deep breath while putting the phone on my ear. There were so many eyes looking up at me. They immediately scattered away when my gaze fell on them.

“Why are you calling me so late?” a sleepy voice came from the other side.

“Bring something to reduce the effect of an aphrodisiac, and reach here in fifteen minutes,” I instructed him in a cold tone.

“Fifteen minutes????? Halo! Halo, James,” I hung up without paying any attention to his panic voice.

“She is our mate. She doesn’t need a medicine. You know that, right?” Aero encouraged me to go back to her.

“Still you shouldn’t forget that she married to me for my wealth and status when she clearly knew the rumours about me. I don’t want a greedy mate,” I answered him in a cold tone. He didn’t reply back but scoff before retreating in the back of my mind.

I entered the room once again and marched towards the bathroom. “Sarah…. Sarah,” I called her from outside when I didn’t sense any movement inside the bathroom. I waited for a few seconds before entering the bathroom.

“Sarah,” I yelled in panic when I saw her slipping under the water in the bathtub. I immediately pulled her up by grabbing her from her torso. The water had turned hot by now, and she was burning like a hot iron. She grabbed me immediately as if her life dependent on me.

“Wh…. What is ha… ppening to me, James?” she asked me in a restless tone while rubbing her soaked body against mine.

“You will be okay… just try to stay awake,” I instructed her in a soft tone. She was in this condition because of me. So I had to make sure that she would be okay.

I took her under the shower and opened the tab. She gasped aloud when the cold water hit her head. She held my shirt on my chest tightly. I kept her steady on her feet by securing her in embrace by her waist. “James,” she moaned my name softly while rubbing her face on my chest. I cursed the mate bond so many times in my heart. I was so turned on right now.
