Conleth's Castle

1011 Words
A week later, Emperor Blaze gave them a visit. After he closed the door of the room, leaving all his servants outside, his posture softened, as he walked to Chloe and hugged her. “I heard what happened! I am so sorry for not being here for you, father was keeping a watch on me all the time. But now our wait is over, we can all go to the palace now, I am finally the Emperor and he has gone to visit the Kingdom of Zypher in order to strengthen the friendship between us. So, let’s go!!” he said, patting her hand softly. Alba didn’t reply as she got up and started packing her things. Once everything was ready, Alba woke up the kids, who were taking their afternoon nap and by the time they got ready, Crimson packed everything that was left. They went into the Conleth's Castle, which was a huge tower made from concrete, where the servants guided them to their respective rooms. “What is wrong, are you not happy?” Blaze asked, standing at the door of Alba’s room. “No. It’s fine.” “Coco, I know we have grown up and changed, but I am still your childhood friend!” Blaze said, still standing at the door. “Why aren’t you coming in? It’s your palace” “You hate it, when someone intrudes your space.” “Yes, but now I know the difference between the things that belong to me and the things that are being used by me. But I must thank you for helping me.” “I am not helping you, am paying you back!”, taking a step towards her. “And what is that supposed to mean?” “You will know when the time comes, but always remember, you are my princess!” Blaze bowed, and extended his left hand. Alba was surprised for a second, but then she offered her hand with courtesy, and Blaze kissed the back of it, making her smile. Then, he led her to the terrace and they sat on the cemented floor, and stargazed. “Look, that’s the pole star. You know, sailors use it to decide on directions.” Alba said excitedly. “Who are sailors and how do they do that?” “Well, we have these huge vessels made by steel that floats on water. It is used to import and export things to other countries; their controller are called sailors.” “I didn’t really understand that but it sounded nice.” Blaze bobbled his head, making Alba laugh. They sat there for a long time, with Alba trying to show him various constellations and explaining about them. After a long time, Alba felt like she had a break. As she told him a lot about her world, Blaze kept nodding his head in reply, while looking at her blabbing non-stop. The next morning, Alba woke up and walked to the washroom. When she opened the door, two maids were standing outside the door who bowed to her. “When is food served?” “My Lady, there is no fixed time but the royalties normally have it before sunrise. Should we serve your breakfast?” “Have the kids eaten?” “No. They just got up now.” “Lead me to them. We will have breakfast together!” As per instructions, they led Alba to a dining room and once the kids arrived, the food was served. “Where is Crimson?” “My Lady, she went to buy something and will be back in a while.” After breakfast, Alba roamed around the palace when she came across a room with an old portrait hanging by the bedside. After checking no one was around, she went in. It was her portrait, with turquoise and aqua wings, almost as tall as her body, wearing a beautiful purple colored evening gown which was decorated with white flowers, the one like Cinderella’s ball dress, and a tiara. She flipped the loose corner a little, it wrote: “Portrait 22 of Future Princess Chloe; Made By: Blaze Conleth” She really wanted to know what happened in the past. She looked around the room, and saw a diary, it had a hard wooden cover and was binded by stiches, with paper made of the same cloth that was used for drawing. It wrote; “Belongs to: Chloe Krystallos and Blaze Conleth” “Whoa, seems like we were really close! But why can’t I remember anything if I was big enough to read and write.” she sighed heavily, wishing she could remember anything as she slipped the diary under her dress. Trying not to touch anything else in the room, she walked out. Walking around the halls, thinking about the portrait, she knocked into somebody. Looking up, she saw his beautiful green eyes piercing right into hers, with his lips giving a hint of smile. It made her feel embarrassed, feeling like he could see deep into her soul. “What’s wrong my princess, you seem stunned!” he whispered in her ears, giving her goosebumps. Feeling embarrassed as she felt her cheeks getting hot, she left. When she reached her room, Crimson was standing right outside, with two bags in her hands. At the sight of Alba, she opened the door, bowing in courtesy. Alba went in and before letting Crimson in, slipped the diary below her pillow. Crimson showed all the dresses excitedly, that she had got for her future training. “Training, what training??” Alba asked, horrified. “My lady, Lord Emperor ordered me to prepare dresses for your training classes from tomorrow!” “What, why do I not know about this?” Alba left the room, furiously. “Where is Blaze?” she asked a maid, who looked shocked at the way she asked but gained her composure quickly, and bowed. “My Lady, Lord Emperor is in his study!” Alba knocked the door twice, but entered the room before reply came. Blaze was sitting in the chair and his head lay on his arms on the table and he seemed to be in a deep sleep. “He looks like an angel while sleeping!” Alba exhaled deeply, before going by his side and sitting on the chair placed opposite to him, as quietly as possible.
