[Cathrine’s POV]
When I first heard Chase’s voice call out my name, I couldn’t believe he actually was standing right there in front of me, I had to physically touch him, to make sure, that I wasn’t imagining it.
But when I did, we both realized that the mate bond was somehow gone.
I felt hurt by the look in his eyes, as he just stood there staring at me. I felt like a complete stranger to him and worst of all, I couldn’t give him any answers on why things were like this.
I could see both hurt and anger in his eyes, mostly directed at Vlad and I probably didn’t make it easier on him, when I was defending Vlad.
But what hurt the most was how indifferent he was towards me afterwards.
