In The Human World

The grip on my neck was painful. I yelled and gasped for breath. I didn't understand why he fell. "Lord Travis!" The young man with him ran towards him and helped him up. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine," he replied. "Who are you? What have we done to you? Why did you kill my parents? And now you have come to kill me?" We have always lived low and have never made enemies with anyone, so why did you kill them? I yelled, as more tears kept running down my cheeks. "Do I look like I would kill your parents?" he asked. "If I killed your parents, wouldn't you see blood stains on my body? Do you see any? Are you dumb?" he asked. He was right, there should be even a little blood stain if he was the one who killed them. The air was heavy with the scent of death, and the silence was oppressive. "And why would I believe you? You might have cleaned up before coming here again, and I am not dumb!" I fired. He sat down on the sofa, crossed his right leg over the other, and looked at me. "I believe I do not owe you any explanation because I do not see the need to do so. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have to be. Now, if you know what is good for you, do not provoke me," he warned. His face was covered with a mask, but I could see the change in his eyes. He had ocean blue eyes, but as he looked at me, they turned a little dark. He had this dark aura following him, making me more scared. My heart was racing, and my palms were slick with sweat as I faced this man. "So, what...what do you want from me?" I stammered. "And why would I want anything from you? There is nothing you would be able to give me, so I don't need anything from you, I just need you to follow me back and go see who called you," he replied. "His mask seemed to ripple and flex as he spoke, like a living, breathing entity." Who sent you? I asked. All this is getting confusing, I wondered. I was trying to digest what mom told me earlier and now this? "I'll give the explanation," the other young man said. "We were sent to get you somewhere, you don't have to be afraid, we are not going to hurt you, we just need to bring you back home safe, it's an order," he explained. And then, it struck me that mom said a man would come here, and I should follow him if he came. "You must be Drake, right? My mom told me about you and I should go with you when you come, but can you please tell me what happened here?" I asked as I ran to the man sitting down. "Drake?" he scoffed. Didn't you hear when he called me Travis? To be specific, "Lord Travis," he replied. You must really be dumb. Why is he being rude to me? I don't think I have offended him before and even now I haven't. "Lord Drake is his father, and he was the one who asked us to take you back home with us. I am Nick, Lord Travis's guard," he introduced. I bowed to him as a sign of respect. "If I went with you, what would happen to my parents? I can't leave their body like this," I looked at my father, and looked up at my room where my mom's body was lying. "We would send someone to come take care of it. You don't have to worry, we only care for your safety!" Nick replied. He was nice, unlike Travis, I thought. "Do not insult me, you don't want to see what I can do right?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. I swallowed hard and turned to look at Nick. "I would be back, I would just grab something." I ran upstairs, brought out a little bag and packed my phone and some other necessities I needed. I went back to the sitting room and Nick was the only one there. I looked around, but I didn't see Travis, and when I looked at my room, he was coming out from there. I was terrified and surprised at the same time. "When did he get into my room? I didn't see him inside, how…!" "Oceanah Green, twenty-four years old, you have a beautiful name," he proposed as he descended the stairs, interrupting my thoughts. "What did you pick?" he asked. Should I answer his question or not? I don't see any reason why I should answer his question, but I was afraid that he would harm me. "I picked up something I would need while away, it's a picture of my parents," I answered. "You don't have to be…" He didn't complete his statement, he looked back immediately and then to Nick. "Werewolves!" He suddenly grabbed me and held me by my waist. His grip was firm and his fingers were tender on my skin. "If you love your life, hold me tight," he said to me. "His dark hair fell onto his shoulders, and his ocean blue eyes seemed to bore into my soul." I looked back and saw three men inside. They were looking around, but they couldn't see us. What was happening? Why aren't they seeing us? "Lord Travis, you can easily kill them, why aren't you doing so?" Nick asked. "I don't want to leave a bad impression on myself, she is seeing me for the first time and I don't want my hands to stain," he replied and smiled at me. What is happening? "Your questions will be answered later. For now, just keep shut!" Who are they? I asked in a very low voice, as though I was asking myself. "You will make trouble for me if you shake or scream. I don't want to kill anyone today, so make it easy for me." I looked at the three men, they were coming close to me. What if they get us? I looked at them and, as Travis said, he would have had blood stains on his body if he had killed my parents, now looking at these three men with blood stains on their bodies which I didn't notice at the first glance. They kept coming closer to me and when they were just a step away from me, I opened my mouth to scream, but Travis shut me up with a deep kiss. My heart skipped a beat and the last thing I saw was his eyes, before blacking out.
