A New Reality

I groggily opened my eyes, pain enveloped my body. The softness of the mattress enveloping me like a cloud and the duvet a comforting weight against my skin. I raised my hand and removed the wet piece of cloth on my forehead. "You are awake! My Lady," I heard a feminine voice behind me. My Lady? I looked around and couldn't recognize where I was. I don't remember bringing myself here. Wait! I remember being with an arrogant, rude, young man earlier. She helped me sit up. "Are you feeling okay?" She asked me, but I didn't respond. I was still trying to bring everything that happened to me together. The fact that my parents died in front of me, and then I came in contact with a young man, and now I am here. "Where am I?" I asked her. " You're in the Demon realm,"My Lady," she answered. I made a confused expression. "What's going on? What Demon realm? Where am I?" I half yelled. "And why are you calling me your lady? What does that mean? If I am in heaven, can you please allow me to meet God? I need to ask him something," I ranted. But the young lady kept looking at me. Does she not understand my language? "Do you think you will go to heaven when you die? You are very positive." I heard that voice, the voice that always gets me pissed. I looked at my front, and he was sitting on the couch in the room, without his mask on. Damn! He was nothing more than handsome. His mid-length dark hair was shiny, his face smooth like that of a newborn baby, his ocean blue eyes that could melt anyone yet frightening, his skin was fair and shiny and his strong hands that made me remember the strong yet tender grip on my waist. I couldn't understand how one man could look so perfect. "Close your mouth, you are drooling." His words made me shut my mouth. "You should leave," he ordered the lady, and stood up, dropped the book he was holding and walked to me. "Are you going to keep lying on the bed?" he asked. "How did I get here? Did you bring me here? Wait! Did you knock me out? Because I was healthy and didn't show any signs of dizziness or fainting," I asked. "I did. You should be grateful I didn't let you hit the floor." I remembered he kissed me, I touched my lips and looked down. "You aren't thinking about that little kiss, are you?" he proposed. He wasn't even ashamed that he had kissed me. That was my first kiss. "So why are you here? And why am I here?" I inquired. "I won't be here if I don't have to. I was asked to take care of you and that is why I am here. Since you are awake now, I will call a maid to take care of you. I have somewhere to be," he replied. "Wait!" I yelled, stopping him from taking a step. "You are the only one I know here, shouldn't you tell me where this place is and how I am here?" I swung my legs down and sat on the bed. "I don't have anything to explain to you. The person you are looking for is Drake, and I don't know if he will be coming to see you anytime soon. Don't look forward to it." "Why are you rude to me? I don't remember offending you," I finally asked. He turned to look at me, the atmosphere in the room suddenly changed. That was the aura I sensed when he first came to me. His left brows raised up, and his eyes darkened with intensity. He bent down and brought his face close to mine. His warm breath on my skin sent shivers down my spine as he leaned closer. If I moved, I would be kissing him, so I sat still. "This isn't me being rude, this is me being true." Don't mess with me if you don't know what I'm capable of. "His voice was low and smooth, but his eyes betrayed a hint of danger, flashing with a warning." Don't expect me to be kind to you, because I never will, he smirked. I shouldn't have asked him that question. His voice made me shiver in fear, and tremble as a little sweat drained onto my cloth. "I..I.." "Travis!" Another voice echoed from the back. I looked back, and it was an elderly man who looked young. He looked so much like Travis. This must be his father, Drake. "I didn't order you to scare her, what are you doing?" he asked. "I was just telling her about myself because she asked me," Travis replied. "I'm sorry for his arrogance, he is always like that. You will get used to it. I am Drake, his father. How are you doing?" He inquired with a smile. "I am fine. But I still don't understand all this. Can you please explain why I am here, and what happened to my parents?" Since my mom asked me to come to him, then he must know about them. He should know why and who killed them, because I would never let go of their killer. I am going to avenge their death. I am a friend of your father, and just so you know, we aren't humans like you. We are Demons. "Drake's expression was carefully neutral, but his eyes held a hint of empathy." I know you are confused, but as time goes by you will understand. Just know that you are in your home and no one will hurt you. You have the right to do anything, he explained. "Why? I am not related to you, so why would I?" I asked. "Your mum did me a great favor when we were young, and I have to repay her. I didn't have the chance to treat her nicely, so I have to take care of you. This is your home and don't let anyone intimidate you" it was as though he was giving me a warning and a head up to get back at Travis. I nodded. "It's time for dinner. I have something to announce," he said to Travis as he left the room.
