I folded both arms in front of my chest after hearing his odd request. I knew that he was up to something. “Mrs. Barlowe? Why did you want her to come?” I asked him back curiously. Dad’s expression didn’t change as he stared back at me. “I did a background check on her,” Dad admitted.
