CHAPTER 19

1780 Words
Gideon POV I woke up to a loud crashing sound from the kitchen. It seems like something fell on the floor and shattered apart. What the hell is going on? I groaned lightly and sat on the bed. I looked around after rubbing my sleepy eyes, trying to find Kiara, but she was not in the bedroom. I found the other side of the bed already empty. I decided to check the kitchen, thinking that it must be her who makes such a loud noise so early in the morning. I got off the bed, and I just realized that I had lost my shirt. I am now only wearing my jeans from last night. I slowly walked towards the kitchen, and I was stoned in my place as I saw her bending down in front of the oven. “Holy Jesus..” She straightened up and turned around to face me. She was wearing my shirt, which barely did anything in covering her ass, her long shapely legs on full display to my hungry eyes. It reminds me of that night I first saw her at the club. She had an amazing figure like a s*x goddess. I wonder what kind of exercise she did regularly to maintain that killer body. “Oh, you’re up already?” she asked, her face stained with flour. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun. I had no idea how she could manage to look adorable and sexy at the same time. I shrugged my shoulders at her. “Couldn’t find you in my bed.” I simply told her. She tugged a strand of loose hair behind her ear, and I could tell that she was shy because her cheeks went red. She cleared her throat to ease the awkwardness, “I’m making breakfast for us. Come here and sit down with me.” she switched the topic and put down the half-burnt pancakes that she made on the table in front of me. She rolled back her eyes after noticing my strange expression. “Hey, don’t judge. It’s the first time for me making pancakes.” I tried to hide my amusement, but I failed miserably. Kiara laughed with me and playfully slapped my arm. “Stop it! Are you mocking me right now, Mr. Barlowe?” I stopped laughing and got up from my chair. “Let me show you how to make the real pancakes.” Her face lit with amazement. “Wait, you know how to make one?” she asked me in disbelief. “I’ve been making pancakes since I was eleven,” I told her proudly. I fixed the batter by adding more flour and added some butter to the pan before I poured a scoop of batter on top of it. “Your mom didn’t cook?” I could feel her eyes on my back as I flipped the pancakes to cook the other side. “My mom is more into sewing clothes than cooking. We had a chef in our house, and I learned from him.” I told her. Maybe this is why I was attracted to her. Kiara somehow reminds me of mom. Her pancakes were even worst than Kiara’s. But dad always finds it adorable. “Wow, these look great.” She said in astonishment as I served her the pancakes that I’d made. She took a bite and moaned several times. I swear this woman is testing my limit every single time we’re alone together. I don’t have that much self-control inside of me. “This is really good… How did you? Whoaa—“ I picked her up from the chair and put her over my shoulder. “Where are you taking me?” she soon got her answer. I threw her down on the bed and caged her petite body under me. Our eyes connected, and her pupils dilated. She looked like she was thirsty for me too. “No more escape this time, Ms. Finley,” I said hoarsely. Our lips barely touched each other when her phone suddenly vibrated on top of the bedside table. “Gideon… I think I need to answer that.” She said, putting both hands on my chest to put distance between us. I groaned out loud in annoyance. I guess this is not the perfect time for us either. “Fine…” I got up from her, and she jumped off the bed to grab her phone. Her face went pale the moment she saw the caller ID. I peeked from behind her and saw it was her dad.   “You’re not going to answer it?” I asked from behind her because she just stared at the screen like her soul being sucked out from her body. “s**t, what should I do? I completely forgot about him last night.” She suddenly went panicked. “Do you want me to answer it for you instead?” I offered. The phone kept on vibrating. “NO..!? Absolutely NOT! Dad would kill you.” She snatched her phone back from my hand. She took a deep breath before answering her phone. **************** Kiara POV “H-Hi..dad,” I answered groggily. “Hi, dad?” he repeated my word sarcastically. “Where the hell are you?” he snarled at me. “Dad, I know you’re mad at me. I can explain.” I replied, biting my finger. This is what I tend to do when I am nervous.   “You’re with that man, aren’t you? I want you to come out right now.” Dad said, making me confused. “What? Why?” I asked him back. “I am in front of his house right now to pick you up. I suggest you come out this instance, or I’ll swear I’ll barge in to drag you out myself.” My eyes widened in shock. It took a moment for my brain to absorb everything. What? How could dad know Gideon’s house? They barely know each other that much. “No, please, dad! Don’t do that. I am not there right now.” I told him. “Wait for me there. I am coming home with you.” I then told dad before ending our calls.   “What happened? What did he say?” Gideon asked me. I massage my temples while pacing back and forth in front of him. “He knew that I was with you, and he’s in front of your house, ready to make a commotion there. How did he know where you lived?” I asked him confusedly. “s**t! I should’ve known. It was him all along….” He mumbled, but it was clear enough for me to hear. “What are you talking about?” I asked him back, clearly wasn’t getting his meaning. “Quick, put something on. We need to get hurry before dad put a bullet on Mr. Finley’s head.” I felt my heart stop beating at that moment. Is he being serious right now? But then again, I remembered the first time I met his dad. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience for me too. Gideon suddenly threw a man boxer at me, and I cringed after examining it. It was bright neon pink in color with a small heart pattern. Gideon himself had already put on a T-shirt that he grabbed from the closet. “Is this yours?” I couldn’t help but to ask him. I'm just curious how he got a very interesting taste in an undergarment. It was flashy enough to make me forget that my dad was only a step away from getting killed in his house. He c****d one of his eyebrows at me and took a step closer. “Do I look like a man who wears pink underwear?” he deadpanned. I hid my laugh and shook my head. “No…” I said. “It’s Uncle Damian’s. Come on…” He said to end this unnecessary conversation, then grabbed my hand, practically dragging me out of the apartment. Gideon drove like a madman. He passes through many red lights without stopping. Hell, I don’t think he even stepped on the brake during the ride, not even once. Thank God I put on the seatbelt. Otherwise, I would be thrown out of the window after five minutes of sitting inside his car. “You almost killed us earlier by that speed,” I said by the time he stopped his car in front of his gatehouse.   He didn’t reply to me. “Is that your dad’s car?” He asked, eyes looking at the black SUV that I could recognize. “Yes, that’s my car,” I said, getting off the car first before him. Dad went out of the car the moment he saw me coming. “Kiara!?” He looked angry and worried at the same time. He eyed me from head to toe before he hugged me. “Why are you wearing a man’s clothes?” dad asked me before his eyes met with Gideon behind me. The moment dad saw him, his anger rose up. He went towards him and punched Gideon hard in his jaw. Gideon fell to the ground, blood coming out from the corner of his lips. He didn’t fight back. He was willingly accept to get beaten by dad. “Dad!? Please don’t hurt him….” I said, stepping in front of Gideon so that dad couldn’t continue his attack. “Did this bastard take advantage of you last night?” Dad asked me while pointing his finger at Gideon. I quickly shook my head while I held both of his arms. “No, dad…. He did nothing wrong!?” I told him, tears dripping from my eyes. He didn’t believe me, though. Dad moved me away to the side, but then Gideon already got up from the ground. Dad grabbed Gideon by the collar. “I want you to stay away from my daughter, do you understand?!” Dad is clearly losing his mind. To my surprise, Gideon didn’t waver, not even a bit. He stares at dad straight in the eyes. “I liked your daughter, sir. So staying away from her is not an option.” I felt flattered because this was the first time a man bravely stood up for our relationship in front of dad. “What’s with all this commotion?” Mrs. Barlowe suddenly emerged from inside the house. Dad turned to look at her, and his expression suddenly changed. “Fallon?” Dad said hesitantly. Holy s**t. How did they know each other?
