‘‘Dad…’’ I followed him as he made his way into their room, rolling his wheelchair. I got on my knees in front of him and as I did so, my hands gripped his. ‘‘What happened?’’
He let out a loud sigh as he released his hand from my grasp, and his expression hardened as he continued to stare at me. ‘‘I’m sorry, but… I really don’t like your new boyfriend...’’
