"Holy Cow"
I muttered under my breath, staring at the sight before me, my insides turning in agreement.
I am definitely going to puke.
"One week! I endured one whole week! and I am so ready to cave into the weekend, but I just had to see this"
Anger painted my vision red as I slowly approached the eye sore before me, a very annoyed expression on my face and barely restrained anger in my fists.
My eyes will never unsee this.
Two hormone crazy teenagers were very busy making out, spreading wet bacteria, turning and twisting all over my beautiful goddamned locker.
Yes mama, I cursed, kill me now.
When I finally got to my locker, I pondered on what to do. They were completely distracted and entirely oblivious to the fact that they were in pubic, they didn't even notice me standing right there in front of them, glaring daggers. Stupid teenage hormones and puberty stages.
Well, so much for being nice.
Using the under of the bright yellow sneakers I had worn today, I stomped hard on the guy's foot to get his attention.
Now I had to throw my favorite shoes away.
When he broke off his passion filled moment with the barbie doll look-alike in his arms, he unconsciously moved away from my locker a little, giving me just enough space to open my locker and slam it right in their faces.
"Oh, I'm really sorry. I kinda didn't see you guys there" I managed to say with the sweetest voice possible, topping it off with a bright smile.
"What the f**k! You monkey!" the girl screeched, holding her reddened face in her perfectly manicured fingers.
Monkey? Very original. Dumbass.
"Oh sweetheart, I already know you don't pay attention in your biology class, you really don't have to prove it to me. But listen close, monkeys can't speak English, and shocker, I can. Now put those two together, or do I still have to spell it out for you?" I said.
All this while, the boy she had been making out with, leaned lazily on the locker next to mine, a small smile on his lips, obviously enjoying the drama unfolding before his eyes.
Typical.
"What is your freaking problem anyway?!" The girl screamed again, her very long, fake lashes batted up and down, annoying the heck out of me.
"See, my problem is, this here..." I made an elaborate drama of pointing at my locker.
"Is my locker. You can...dirty any part of this whole school however you desire, but you would do none of that on my locker" I said, slamming my locker shut.
"Wroongg and ruddee" she drawled.
What the hell?
Couldn't she understand that I was just trying to hide out in the cave that was the weekend, without my locker being stained any further?
"Look here newbie, this is my school. I would do whatever the f**k I want, wherever the f**k I want"
I suddenly squeezed my eyebrows in thought, and quickly searched my brain.
"Wait, hold up. I've heard that before. Ohhh. So you're the Carla Louise, ohhh"
I glanced at the smug smile that appeared on her face and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
Carla Louise, School's head cheerleader, Princess of a rich daddy who sponsored almost everything in Preston high, hot chic, drama queen of the year, subject of every gossip conversation, really popular, and every guy's girl.
Umm, too bad.
"Well, I've got facts for you Carla Louise, you were overly wrong. Your daddy may have spent and is still spending money on most things in this school, but that doesn't make this your school. Last I checked, this school was built and is coordinated by a board of professors, which, what a shock, does not include your daddy..."
I really should have kept my mouth shut. I really should have just walked away, but as usual, I could never back away from a fight. Few students had gathered around us to watch, and I mentally smacked my forehead for wanting a peaceful weekend and then getting myself into this.
"Now don't get me wrong, you can desecrate any part of the school your daddy marked with his money, because I think it's allowed...but you would not, I repeat, you would not! fill my locker with cooties, because your daddy never paid to allow you do that to my locker"
I raised myself to my full height, still a five foot eight, but whatever, and stared directly into the look of utter surprise in Carla's eyes. She must not get this much of a confrontation everyday, or any day as a matter of fact.
Awww shucks Luna, now you've gone and done it.
"And secondly, you can't do whatever you want, wherever you want Carla, you're not Ariana grande and even she's having a hard time with that..."
"Ohhh shut up! You b***h!!"
You've gone and pushed her overboard Luna. Well done. My subconscious mocked me in my head.
Nails.
Flaming hot pink nails came crashing down into my line of vision, I managed to dodge quickly, missing the catastrophic result by just a second. Shoot! should have known she would bring out the nails.
"Miss Luna Nelson and miss Carla Louise! It would do you both a lot of good to follow me to my office right now!"
A loud voice boomed through the entire hallway and every student already knew the owner of that voice. Those who had gathered to watch, scattered in different directions without even looking back, and left the three of us stranded in the presence of our principal.
I risked a glance at Carla and the look in her eyes definitely showed she had murder on her mind. Sinister. The principal approached us slowly and pointed to his office. He looked at the hot guy Carla had been making out with and shook his head in disappointment, while the guy just smirked in arrogance.
I trudged to the office, my subconscious cursing my big mouth the whole way there. I sat on one of the very uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room outside the principal's office, praying I got a fair judgement, assuming Carla didn't bribe him in any sort of way.
"Nice going twerp" Carla whispered with clenched teeth behind my ears and I fought the urge to explain to her yet again, why it was a bad idea to make out on my locker in the first place.
Keep your big mouth shut Luna, my subconscious warned.
The principal walked by us, motioning to Carla to follow him as he entered his office. She got up confidently, as though she was used to getting into trouble and always finding her way out of it. So much for fair judgement.
I busied myself with taking in the rather boring décor of the waiting room and after about fifteen minutes later, Carla waltzed out of the office, looking like she had won a trophy and with a bright smile, threw me the finger. Typical. I looked at her stupid pretty face like she was just that, typical.
"Miss Luna!" The same deep voice boomed again from inside the office, and I tried not to squirm.
As though I was on autopilot, I picked myself up from my seat and carefully walked into the principal's office, making sure to quietly close the door behind me.
"Miss Luna..." He started.
"Before you begin, I want you to know that whatever she must have told you is a lie. I did nothing wrong, and I can prove it" I blabbered on from nervousness.
I couldn't get into trouble. Mama would kill me. I was already trying my luck by going home late today, I couldn't possibly tell her I had gotten into trouble too.
"Actually...I was just going to tell you to sit down" he said with a glint of amusement in his eyes.
"Oh" I merely stated as I cautiously sat on the chair opposite his, behind his huge leather table.
"Now, you're a new student?" He asked.
"Yes" I simply answered.
"Okay, so I would let you off with a warning"
"Wait a minute, a warning for what? What'd I do?"
I couldn't stop myself from asking and my subconscious face palmed me like I was the dumbest person alive. I just cannot keep my big mouth shut. I should have taken the stupid warning and left.
He looked at me with surprise in his chocolate brown eyes, which I was finding very hard to stop staring at, and a quirked up brow which I would have loved to run my...hold up, am I fantasizing about my principal?
This day couldn't get any worse.
He leaned back into his leather chair and I watched the muscles barely hidden under his shirt, flex and contract in the sexiest way possible, and I fought the urge to allow my eyes wander any further than they already had.
"Well for one, you couldn't seem to keep your tongue in your cheek. You kept on filling the argument and I wouldn't be surprised if you finally threw a punch" He said.
Ouch. He couldn't have been any more subtle.
"Look..."
He leaned forward, propping his elbows on his table and looking at me as if he wanted to tell me a secret.
"This is your senior year, I can tell you are just trying to get through the year and then run off to college, but you don't seem to be the type used to just passing through the background...girls like Carla almost run this school, and that's something coming from the principal, don't you think?...I try to keep them in check, but..."
He leaned back into his chair again and studied me. His eyes memorising my features. I noticed a quick spark in his eyes before it disappeared just as quick, but that didn't stop my heart from doing a double take.
Oh come on, he's your principal.
"I'll advice you one thing Luna...stay out of trouble, you do not wanna find it here, you're excused"
I blinked my eyes rapidly to regain my senses, and scrambled up on my feet. I had to get away.
Fast.
I had just been annoyed from two teenagers whose hormones were out of control, but now mine were spiralling wayyy out of control. Karma is definitely not nice.
"Um, yes...yes, thank you, sir, good day I guess" I blabbered and tried to scramble out of the office on uncoordinated feet.
As I reached for the door handle, I heard my name roll off his tongue like the sweetest thing he had ever tasted. I needed to escape this madness.
"Yes, sir?" I painfully turned back to look at him.
"Edward is okay" he said with a small smile.
I couldn't believe my ears. My principal wanted me to call him by his first name. That should be illegal somewhere.
"Um, okay" I managed to say before I all but ran out of his office.
Well hell, so much for laying low in a new school.
